Chiaara (pronounced key-ar-uh) sat on her bed and watched as her best friend Longinus Battled some mythical creature on her computer. The depth of his geekdom never ceased to amaze her. He was the kind of guy that would have been drowning in women if it weren't for the facts that he was a geek to the core and uncommonly shy. Chiaara figured he had his reasons.

They had been friends since getting simultaneously lost looking for the same class the first day of their freshman year at college. That had been nearly seven years ago and he was the only person she truely trusted in this life besides her father. That didn't mean that she told him everything though. She had a couple of big secrets she hadn't told him.

One of which was that she wanted him in ways that would blow his sweet mind, the other was the reason she felt she couldn't have him. She had fought the desire for him since day one, but it was getting to be too much for her. She had needs that she didn't fully understand and wished that her mother was still around to explain.

She needed more than sex. Sex she could get anywhere. Especially with her hourglass curves and cat green eyes. She used them to her advantage whenever she got hungry for a man. But it was no longer enough. She needed passion and fire and intimacy. She wouldn't find those things with a stranger. But something told her that she would find all those things and more in her sexy, strong and adorably shy geek of a best friend.

She was drawn from her thoughts as he screamed at the monitor, the obvious victor, "How can you stand playing these games for hours on end, Inus? I would lose my mind. I just don't get it."

Longinus sat at Chiaara's computer. He'd started off with doing some maintenance on it. Something she never did, he had noted as he cleared out her browser data. He had spent two of the last three hours working to restore functionality to the machine. Then for the last hour, he'd tested it out by playing one of his favorite games on it. The machine worked much better than it had before. So well, in fact, that he'd almost forgotten where he was. He shouted out some insult at the monster he was fighting, and then heard her voice behind him.

Then he grinned sheepishly, shutting down the game, and turned to look at her. They'd known each other for seven years. He couldn't even remember what class it was they'd been looking for when they'd met. But he'd spent the years watching her date guy after guy. Usually only once. Almost as if she was looking for something specific, but didn't find it anywhere. He'd never been able to figure it out either. He'd always liked her. But he could never bring himself to tell her. With his secrets, it wouldn't do well to try either, he always thought. So he always lost himself in games, anime, movies, music, and whatever else would keep him from doing something that may cost him his friendship with her.

He had no idea that she was sitting there, aching to touch him and more. Instead, he gave her a mock scowl. "I thought I asked you not to call me that. Or should I resort to calling you Kiki again?" He teased, then shrugged. "It's something that requires a taste for it, I guess. Killing monsters in the game is great stress relief though."

Chiaara scrunched up her face as he called her Kiki. She hated the nickname but she wasn't much more fond of his full name. "Please don't call me that. It makes me sound like some valley girl stripper with an I.Q. of 3. and what stress could you possibly have? You spend all day in front of one of those while the rest of us have to slave away at our jobs."

She had been teasing him about the choice of gaming for a job since he'd told her senior year. In truth she was a little jealous, but not everyone could have such fun at work. She herself worked, ironically, at a strip club. She didn't dance on the stage and shake her booty, though many a client had asked, she preferred to tend the bar where there was a lot of glass handy if she needed it.

deciding that a little touch had never hurt either her or Inus, she got up from the bed to wrap her arms around his neck. "Thank you, for fixing it for me, Inus."

Longinus laughed at her teasing him about his job. He knew where she worked, but said nothing about it. As she wrapped her arms around his neck, thanking him for fixing her computer, he smiled, reaching up to pat her hand gently. "Don't mention it. It was a simple thing. Besides, it's not like it's a chore or anything."

There was something different about her lately. Something about the way she smelled. He could feel his loins stirring, and knew that it was trouble. He cleared his throat, and then stretched, and started to stand up with her still clinging to his neck. "So, maybe we should go get something to eat."

Chiaara could taste the slight wave of lust that rolled off of him. From Inus, it always tasted something like honey... it was her favorite flavor and she'd always been able to get just that little hint from him. It never satisfied the need, though, and lately it had become more like a way of torturing herself. She just needed that little bit, like a drug addict. He always cut it off and walked away before she lost herself in it, and he was doing it again. standing up with her arms still hooked around his neck.

The action forced her to let go or choke him to death. "dammit, Inus. you know i'm not tall enough for you to do that." she complained as she landed on her backside, "Sure, food. I want some ice cream too... a honey cone from Mr. Maguire's. And since you made me hurt myself you are buying."

Longinus stuck his tongue out at her, then nodded slowly. He always felt strange when she touched him. He could never explain it, unfortunately. When she said he was buying since he made her hurt herself, he shook his head, laughing. Then he grabbed his keys off the desk where he'd set them, and ran a hand through his dark hair. Then he motioned her towards the door. "Your car, or mine?" He started for the door himself, heading out of it and waiting for her.

Chiaara sat on the floor and watched as he ran his hand through his hair. She didn't know why but that one motion always took her breath. She knew it was a nervous habit but it didn't matter. And that line of thought was going to lead them both into trouble.

Shaking herself mentally, she got to her feet and grabbed her purse. "Your car, you always look like a clown when you stuff yourself into my little mazda." and with those words she breezed past him leaving the scent of her jasmine perfume in her wake.

Longinus stuck his tongue out again at the effect her tiny little coupe had on his lanky frame. It probably didn't help matters that his own ride was a significantly larger car, custom tuned and modified for performance by himself and his cousin years ago. His cousin had picked out the car. An older Porsche, back when they had the big rounded back ends.

He led her out to the car, and clicked a button on the remote. He had often considered putting the original doors back on. His cousin had put in a set of gullwing doors, complete with motors to open and close them with the push of a button. But in the end, he never bothered. He buckled his seat belt, and waited for her to climb into the sleek black sports car.

Longinus didn't know it but she had bought the little mazda z-3 that he barely fit into just to force him to use his car more often. she loved the look and feel of it, not to mention the way people sometimes stopped to see who was getting out of it.

"I think i want pizza, what say you, Inus?" she teased as she slid into the passenger side, giving him just a hint of a view of her upper thigh before pulling down her skirt and closing the door.

The Porsche roared when Longinus started it up. The familiar sound was always comforting to him. He pushed the button on the keychain that caused the doors to close, and put the European sports car in gear. He looked at her as she mentioned pizza, and considered. Then he nodded slowly. "The usual pizza place then?"

He took a left and started down the street towards the place they usually visited. The music coming from the speakers as the stereo turned on after a few seconds was Japanese rap/metal, in the form of Megaryu.

Chiaara nodded her approval of their usual pizza place then Scrunched her face at the music he had playing. "How can you listen to this stuff, Inus? It's barely understandable even for a language I can't speak."

As they drove she watched him, trying to figure out how girls who didn't know him weren't throwing themselves at his feet. The man was gorgeous, all tall dark and handsome. If Chiaara didn't have so much to hide, she'd certainly have had her taste of him by now and she knew him. As she became lost in her own world, imagining the many things she wanted to do with her best friend, the air in the car seemed to fill with the heated scent of jasmine.

Realizing that she was becoming far too aroused for her own safety, she began to look out the window, grateful that they were nearing the pizza parlor. She was definitely going to need that ice cream. Why couldn't she get a handle on this?

The scent filling the car was familiar to Longinus. Every so often, when Chiaara was around, he'd smell it. Jasmine. He knew the scent was supposed to mean something, but he could never recall what. As they drove, he stuck his tongue out at her comment regarding his music. "Would you rather I listened to Bratney?"

It was only a few moments before they reached the pizza parlor. He pondered what specifically they should get, and as he pulled into the parking lot, he cleared his throat. "Any particular desires? I'm thinking pepperoni, extra cheese."

"I'm thinking Super fine geek with a side of passionate sex" Chiaara pushed her way out of the car as fast as she could. She hadn't meant to say the words and she needed some air.

She couldn't take them back, so maybe she could just see how he responded to them. If it was a good response or even an iffy one, maybe it wouldn't hurt to have him for just one night. She wanted him so badly. She wanted to have him touch her in more than a friendly manner. To have him run his fingers through her Waist length chestnut curls the same way he did his own hair. Silently she prayed that he would be open to the thought.

Longinus sat there for a few extra minutes, staring at where she had been sitting. It was a few long moments before he could wrap his mind around what she'd said. When he finally climbed out of the car and followed after her, activating his car alarm, he tilted his head in thought. He followed her into the pizza parlor, saying nothing until they were at the counter. "So then. Pepperoni okay?"

Chiaara shook her head. She should have known Longinus would just skip over the comment. He seemed to shy away from things that overt. She thought it was adorable, except when he did it to her.

She nodded at his choice and meandered through the crowd to a table while he ordered. When he came to the table she looked at him seriously, "Why do you do that, Inus? Ignoring comments women make when they find you attractive. Is it that uncomfortable for you?"

Longinus blinked as he came to the table, and sat down, to find himself facing the not quite Spanish Inquisition from Chiaara. He sighed, and took a seat. Then he cleared his throat. "It's...complicated. Anyways, I'm not that attractive. Certainly not 'super fine', as you put it." He looked at his watch. "The pizza should be done in about twenty."

Chiaara laughed as she laid a hand on his arm. "Oh, Inus, honey. you most certainly are that attractive! you just put out this vibe that clearly says to leave you alone. How is it complicated? You know I won't leave it alone until you tell me. I have my teeth in the matter now."

She wouldn't either. She had been content to leave the matter alone for seven years, but it had been her that recieved his shun this time and Chiaara didn't like it. It was time to get to the root of the matter.

Longinus knew better than anyone that even his nearly patented technique of quick distraction wouldn't work at this point. He sighed, looking at his watch, then at her. He pondered what to say, then shook his head. "Look, it's complicated. I wouldn't want to burden you with my problems. Besides, not everyone needs to find someone, right?"

Chiaara shook her head at him, he was still trying to avoid it. "Complicated describes everything Longinus. Don't try to side step me. You know damn well you can tell me anything, besides your burden probably comes off like a grain of sand compared to mine. So give it up and tell me already.,"noting that he kept looking at his watch, she added, "The pizza won't save you."

Longinus sighed again, and shook his head. "Can we at least wait till we're back home for this discussion? It's not the sort of thing I'd really like to talk about in public." He was hoping to stall for time. He really didn't want to let her know that he wasn't entirely human. Nor that he'd been afraid of the effect he had on women for years.

Chiaara thought about it for a moment and, given the look of utter anxiety on his face, decided she could wait until they were someplace more private. "Alright, but I am not going to forget about it, Inus. Promise you'll tell me when we get back?"

Chiaara spent the rest of their time at the parlor teasing him and trying to make him smile. He had a great smile and she loved being the one to bring it out. She would find out what was wrong with him eventually. She hoped she didn't have to go succubus on him to get the information. That could scar a human for life... she wouldn't want to do that to Inus. He was the only human aside from her father that she actually cared about.
