I want to read a story based on the Stockholm Syndrome by someone who knows what it is. :) There seem to be a lot of non-consensual stories out there where I just can't understand how the author would expect anyone to believe that a woman can suddenly get turned on by three big, nasty strangers jumping out of an alley and grabbing her and fucking her. The kind of stories where she's being hurt, beaten, raped and hating it and suddenly right in the middle, she gets turned on and starts begging them to do it more. What I would like to see is a story that explores the psychology of the Stockholm Syndrome through a sexual view. I write a good deal of erotica but for some reason, I can't do this one.

I thought maybe I should offer a definition of Stockholm Syndrome. It's something most people have heard of but didn't know there was a name.

"The process of sympathizing with the offender has been called "The Stockholm Syndrome." It was first recognized in 1973 after a notorious bank robbery in Sweden in which the hostages taken by the suspects began to develop feelings of attachment toward their captors. It seems to happen over a period of time, especially if the captive/hostage is in total control of the person, making them totally dependent, like for food, for sleep, for going to the bathroom, for just being allowed to continue to live. It makes the victim grateful and sometimes they will begin to love, admire, and even sometimes sexually desire their controllers or captors."

This is a good approach for several possible nonconsent stories. I would also like to see a story with this theme.

Interesting ...

Miyelo, I think the non-consensual stories you object to (for understandable reasons) have their place too. I guess these are written by people who take the fantasy as far as they will allow, but draw the line abruptly at their own limits; i.e. they turn themselves on first through the idea of non-consent, and then revert to 'consent' once they are suitably aroused. I think the Stockholm Syndrome (which I confess I had never heard of) would provide grounds for an intriguing take on what has been an oft explored fantasy. It would need to take place over a period of time and in circumstances which 'allowed' (excuse the ironic choice of words!) the 'victim' time to develop the Syndrome. Obviously, as I'm sure you are aware, the scenario which you highlight ["three big, nasty strangers ..." etc.] has too much of an immediacy for the 'Syndrome' to flourish.

much as I don't want to promote my own self, my story 'Stockholm' touches on this issue...

Oh go ahead, promote. Stockholm is an editor's choice story as well.

Thank you Max. It was strange but right after I posted this, I found your story and read it. I liked it very much but I was a little embarrassed that I'd not seen it before and then asked. :)

Thanks for starting this thread!

I have to say that I also get really worn out on the "instant slut" motif in nonconsent stories as well. I actually started my story in an attempt to deal with that issue. It isn't a "Stokholm Syndrome" story in the strictest sense, but I did try to deal with the psychology of sexual control in a more than passing manner.

I would like to know what you think of the attempt. If you would like to read it, here it is:
