I'm writing a story and am trying to keep it in the bounds of reality. I'm interested in using stinging nettels as punishment/play. So has anyone out there experianced this sensation?

Is it dangerous? Surely the effect is transient and no permant damage can be caused?

Anyone with any thoughts please add to the thread or PM me.

Ideas or experancies greatfully accepted!

Kim

If you do a search you should come up with several threads on here discussing stinging nettles.:rose:

It shouldn't be dangerous unless you have an allergy to them. I've gotten stung by nettles and its not that bad. Goes away after a few hours.

stinging nettle f***en sucks big time!!! last summer when i was hiking through thick woods on a fishing trip, i fell in a huge patch of nettle. my whole body felt like it was on fire. the burning hell sensation lasted over 24 hours!!! :( ...and to make things worse i didn't check any fish

no permanent damage other than mental scarring.

Well my idea was that they'd be applied more intentionally than by accident! lol

Poor you.

I dont want to inflict any mental scars !!!!!!!

lol sorry i didn't mean to make this thread into a support group for nettle survivors, but when i saw the title i  and couldn't help but share my experience :rose:

good luck with your story and be gentle :)

I've watched enough "nettle porn" to convince me that there's more than one plant commonly referred to as "stinging nettle." Like you, I've encountered some thats bad, bad stuff...nothing to play with, I don't care how hardcore one purports to be.

Good grief

Over twenty five years ago I rolled in some stinging nettles whilst checking the underside of a derelict truck. I suffered enough that I don't want to repeat the actions.

It took several hours for the sting to abate but it finally did.:)

It seems there are prolonged sensation as an aftermath .....gettin more and more complelling!

That can be some nasty stuff... if you were to try it and it sucked in a bad way...a great homeopathic remedy for the itch and swelling is Apis Mallifica internally.. and calendula cream or gel externally. They are cheap and easy to find online if you don't have a whole foods type market near you. I have a heap of it growing throughout my yard and almost always get it on me somewhere. These remedies work great at making the symptoms ease for me in 15 to 20 mins... gone in under an hour. They aslo don't make you sleepy or interact with any medications. :)
