I saw Trump’s speech at Ft. McHenry. He talked for twelve minutes, got applause, the band started up, and he stood at the podium for three minutes staring into space before deciding to walk off.

In Canada our equivalent to the USA Memorial Day is called Remembrance day.
It falls on Nov 11. The very same day that was the official end to WW1. At 11 am on Nov 11, Canadians stop and remember all those soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice so that the rest of us could enjoy our freedoms.

Some think it is funny that in Canada this day is not a statutory holiday, but I know that I, my family and most everyone I know pause's at 11 am, and for a moment I(we) give thanks ( and remember) those who gave their lives, so assholes like Trump or Ziggins and his friends can party on the block on a "long weekend".... since that seems to be all they think about on the day America is supposed to honour those who fell on their behalf....
 
If you know any soldiers, you could ask them which they want to be: remembered for their sacrifice, or alive. Trump has tremendous support in the enlisted ranks and their families because he is less of a reckless warmonger than his predecessors. They appreciate the withdrawals from the shitfires created by Bush and Obama.

That you completely miss the point of Memorial Day is not really a surprise to me, nor to most other intelligent people on this board. Typical self centered me me me bullshit.
