Disturbing programme on BBC last night suggesting steroid use rife even amongst icons from many years ago, including the great Scottish sprinter and Olympic gold medallist Allan Wells. Is this now the norm in most sports at the top level?...

Mate, it's been going on a LOT longer than that. My question is whether it's rife at the top level now. The other question is how they seem to work. For example, it's suggested that top sprinters who've used them have put on 2 stone in muscle, yet being muscular doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with sprinting; Usain Bolt for example is very thin. Endurance events conversely need an absolute ectomorph yet drugs are still taken. The scruples of these guys really has to be questions as well as the massive risk to health. That complete tosser Lance Armstrong is nothing more than a cunt for swearing blind he didn't touch them...
