after the pizza guy declined the job, citing massive wage cut, it would seem trump's latest nom for federal reserve post has a long-standing history of misogynistic comments. why does this come as no surprise? pretty much seems to opine that there's no place for women in sports (and has little to say regarding a woman's value) unless she's a commentator who looks like a model and wears a halter top to do her job. this guy was one of trump's advisors. all these getting-long-in-the-tooth white male politicians are so removed from the young voters of today.

He shouldn’t have to pay child support
In March, the Guardian reported that Moore was reprimanded by a judge in 2012 after he failed to pay his wife $300,000 in child support and money owed under their divorce settlement.

Women earning more than men would disrupt family stability
In a 2014 article for the National Review Moore writes: “What are the implications of a society in which women earn more than men? We don’t really know, but it could be disruptive to family stability. If men aren’t the breadwinners, will women regard them as economically expendable?”

The pay gap isn’t real
In the same article where Moore says women earning more than men would be disastrous, he claims that the gender pay gap isn’t real. There is “virtually no pay discrepancy between men and women, so for this generation the 77-cents mantra is as outdated as bell-bottom jeans”, he writes.

Social security has gone too far

During an appearance on CNN in 1992, Moore reportedly said: “Well, we’ve probably gone too far in providing the safety net for the elderly. To a large extent, we’ve started a system in this country where we are taxing struggling middle-class families that are young to provide lavish government benefits for people over 65.”

Most importantly, he shouldn’t have to pay tax
Moore currently owes the IRS $75,328 for taxes incurred in 2014. Moore has disputed the IRS claim, saying he has been trying to work out a deal with the government but hasn’t been able to yet. This is the guy that Trump wants to help govern the world’s most powerful central bank.

What a moron. Saw a clip of him on the news this morning claiming the biggest problem in our economy is declining male earnings.

Poor men. It must be so hard for them earning 85 cents for every dollar a woman earns... Oh, wait.

And, Jesus Christ. He wants “extreme vetting” of immigrants but is wholly incapable of properly vetting even a single, solitary federal nominee.

Yet the New York Times, the Washington Post, and CNN are opposed to Moore. Of course they are also opposed to Trump. When Trump came into office they predicted a world-wide recession of great severity.

Allow me to quote one of mainstream media’s economic gurus. A certified economist, a winner of the Nobel Prize for economics, Paul Krugman, Ph.D. On November 9, 2016 he greeted Trump’s election with this dirge: “Under any circumstances, putting an irresponsible, ignorant man who takes his advice from all the wrong people [Moore!] in charge of the nation with the world’s most important economy would be very bad news.” And he persisted, “What makes it especially bad right now, however, it the fundamentally fragile state much of the world is still in.” Finally he concluded, “So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight.” Clearly having made hysterical pronunciations such as the above Guru Krugman could not see Friday’s growth rate of 3.2%.

So now the long knives cannot share Professor Doktor Krugman’s contempt for the Trump economy. How are they going to defame Steve Moore? They are going to get personal. They are going to Brett Kavanaugh him. As I have said, he is a “clever” writer and has been writing for more than 35 years. Because he is a lively fellow, he has naturally indulged in a little jocosity from time to time. Some fifteen years ago women athletes were a target for his wit and also women bartenders. Now because of the crime of joking about woman leaping in the air and standing behind a bar he is to be denied a role at the Fed, the assassins boast.

read the article.

he complained his personal beliefs/preferences shouldn't be the platform to judge him on, only his economic history - so that's the part i quoted.

as I said

its a debate on economic theory

but what it really is

No Matter What.....LETS GET TRUMP

Denigrate the guy who turned around a company, saved it from bankruptcy and saved all those jobs, something which the cow has never accomplished, because in her haughty British majesty, she finds it fashionable to hate Trump and refer to a successful BLACK American business guy as a "pizza guy."

Sounds pretty racist to me...

^^^^^ Welfare black; has to be. Fits the stereotype.

chipbutty will probably agree...

Amusing to watch GB Trump apologists and sycophants defend his every choice and decision. Even the Republican Senate is laughing at this one.

small dog syndrome, lol

"Some of the behaviors that make up SDS include jumping (on their owners, on others and on other dogs), growling at other people or dogs, not listening to commands, acting nervous or even neurotic, constant or frequent barking, lunging, snapping, or nipping, demanding attention (affection, treats), etc. These behaviors can occur in any size dog but are more prevalent in smaller dogs."

so can ANYONE show me the SEXISM?

Typical of the good ol' boys club generation. Glad that bullshit is slowly breaking down.

So Stephen Moore was withdrawn from that post.

Ok, my knee jerk reaction to the thread was to roll my eyes "He's likely a misogynistic asshole, but why would anyone care about that in a technical job, if he's competent and good with nombers?"

But I might well be wrong because I have no idea what a "Federal Reserve" job entails.
