Yes I know he is a brilliant writer and all.... but...

Why are so many of his books about god when it comes down to the essence of them. Very strange....

Please ramble some thoughts here

you think Stephan King is bad for God? Try Anne Rice....I had to re-read half of her books just so I could understand half of it (because I know jack shit all about religion, I am agnostic myself). Although she is a superb writer, I just wish the religion stuff could be cut down a wee bit.

I don't find Stephan King to be too Goddy. I actually understand everything he writes about. He just happens to like to write about it and thats part of his writing style I guess.

I've always considered the essence of his books to be man vs. the elements. Man vs. deranged clown/spider/thing (It), man vs. deranged machinery (Christine, the cult non-classic Maximum Overdrive), man vs. deranged animal (Cujo, Pet Sematary).

I'll avoid that for a bit

IT, Desperation, The stand, The green mile, The girl who loved Tom gordon, Insomnia, Bag of Bones, Needful things..... and as Richard Bachman the Regulators

All Having the good verse bad.... god essence there,

He used to be good...

...but now I don't read anything new from him. I think he rips off the readers.

Living on the fame of his name...

Read the Dark Tower series

GOOGOGOG do it now i said so. It is perfect. I hope he manages to finish it sometimes. Right now it is up to book number 4, The Wizard and the glass, it is supposed to be 7 to 8 books long. Once you read book 4 all the way through you realize something very intersting. It is so spooky it really freaked me out. I won't tell anyone what it is because I would not want to spoil it for them, but if you want to know just email me or whatever.

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! I've read the entire series, and will no doubt read it again soon. I was on his website, and he's planning the next installment for 2003. As for the godthing, leave it alone. So he's religious, so what? His best, BY FAR, is The Stand. Pet Sematary was quite creepy, too. The only book that scared the shit out of me. Although, I read it about 5 years ago.

His books have always encompassed the good vs. evil theme. Salems Lot to Dreamcatcher. Just in different forms. Sometimes religious, other times not. I just love his style, it's so easy to read, so easy to relate to. I don't think, I just fall into his writing and let it transport me to where ever he wants me to go.

Religion has to be a theme in her writing, especially the witch and vampire series. The only one that is truly overly religious is Memnoch, but how can you avoid religion in that book?

Actually Religion is a heavy set theme in all of her writings. Yes, especially yes in Memnoch due to the subject matter. But I had an even harder time getting through The Vampire Armand than with Memnoch. For Memnoch there was a lot of creative religion, as where with Armand there was a lot of already known things about religion. Being someone who knows very little about any type of religion I pick up on where there is a lot of religion, where someone who knows even a little bit would not notice it. As for the Mayfair Series, I haven't gotten through all of it yet, but am still trying.
