Hello, Everyone.

Just joined today so no previous submissions for anyone to peek at.

I'm not trained as a writer so more than likely I'm just a newbie about to get his chops busted. Just think, you could get my writer's cherry.

But to be honest, I'm confused by this process of looking for an editor to look at my story. Two things:

First' I'm not looking primarily for spelling and grammar editing (but without at all claiming that I don't need that too). I'm looking for, as one editor put it in his/her blurb, someone interested in "overarching" issues" ...about how a story works and is put together so that it can work.

Secondly, In trying to use the Editor sort screen....these categories that are used here? My work contains a lot of many of the listed, uhm....qualities :), so I am in a quandary about how to sort out how to classify it for search purposes.

The Story: 9 pages, 4700 words; M/F, consensual/non-consensual, bondage is involved but not as a focus, anal sex is involved but not as a focus; Romance and love. How do I best characterize this for approaching possible editors on here?

Many thanks in advance for your time and help.

You can look on the "Available Editors" thread in this forum to find the editors who are currently available.

I am sure you will find someone who can work with you.

Thank you.

I think that's where I did look and where I became concerned about properly catorgizing the story.

Thank you.

Most editors take any category and those who exclude a particular category will say so upfront.

Story categories are very broad. Your editor can help you choose the best category.

Lit allows the writer to assign search tags, so a person searching for M/F anal sex with non-consensual bondage will find your story.

Welcome to Lit.

I suspect a little confusion.

The Editor sort screen is part of the official Volunteer Editors facility which basically is defunct. That is because there is no attempt to delete inactive entries.

At the top of this forum is a "sticky" thread entitled "Available Editors". That is where real, live (in most cases), active editors post current availability notices.

If you use the site's official system it seems from the complaints posted in this forum that there is a very low probability of getting an answer. If you use our unofficial system you are pretty certain to get an answer.

Yesterday, I received an email from the Literotica Volunteer Editor Program, thanking me for joining the volunteer editing program. I don't remember when I actually signed up, but it was more than a year ago.

You were correct yesterday :), but last night I did more reading and discovered the difference; but not the "defunct" part so I appreciate that information.

As I've read more threads in more forums, I've about decided that what I'm most attracted to for the moment is attempting to be accepted in the "Story Discussion Circle".

I haven't checked my eligibility for that yet but, other than that issue, any comment on that particular forum?

Thanks again for your time.
