Starting a Star Wars thread, any interested?

Any people interested in joining a Star Wars SRP post some characters here.

Not sure how this will be received, last one I saw degenerated into fighting within three posts! I will lay down some history and facts to keep the RP moving, since I am a shameless geek.

(Anyone who has played KOTOR will know some of this)

Based around 4,000 years previous to the movies. At this point the Republic and the Jedi Order are in disarray after a difficult battle with the Sith, led by Sith Lord Darth Malak. This is a period known as the Jedi Civil War, since the Jedi Order is crumbling, the Jedi are scattering, and many are turning to the Dark Side of the Force. Having lost the dreaded Star Forge, the Sith have been forced to resort to more cunning tactics than brute force to take worlds. On one such world on the outer rim, the Sith Lord Maelus has begun a test of a powerful new Dark Side weapon, a focusing device that allows the dark mind influencing powers of a Sith Lord to expand across an entire world. This world is one of the leading providers of Cortosis to the Republic, without which the Republic would stand no change against the Sith. He has dominated much of the populus and government, but a few bands of resistance still remain, one such band has managed to send a single distress call out from the planet, hoping that someone will answer.

Looking for several Jedi to answer the call, in addition to at least one apprentice for Lord Maelus, though any characters are welcome, if you need any details about the story to construct your character, please ask.

Character: Lord Maelus

Lord Maelus is a tall human male, with white hair that hangs to his shoulders and pale skin, he uses a chemical treatment to keep his skin from degenerating and wrinkling, a common effect of Dark Side corruption. As his joints began to deteriorate, he had them systematically replaced with cybernetic prosthetics, making his strength and his speed unnatural, even for a Dark Side wielder. He delights in bringing pain to others, and takes great joy in twisting others to his will, perverting them horribly. He wears an extremely simple suit of a skintight black bodyglove, a black cloak, and black leather flared cuff gloves and boots, wielding a single red-bladed lightsaber in battle, he is an expert at wielding the mind-affecting powers of the Dark Side of the Force.

I'm interested and I'll post my character idea now as I assume that is what you want us to do.

Cole Tainer, a reckless and headstrong Jedi Guardian cast out of the order for his methods, believeing that those of the darkside once fallen were beyond savior and should be eliminated without hesitation. After leaving the order he no longer refered to himself as a Jedi Knight or Jedi Guardian, but as a Jedi Warrior, a slayer of the darkside. Gifted in mechanics, he wields an array of lightsabers he himself developed, a duel bladed lightsaber that can disconnect in the middle to become two separate blades, and a blade disk, a frizbie sized disk with multiple emitters on the edges that when thrown the emitters are activated and eight blades erupt from it as it spins and is guided through the force. He is quick to anger but will never harm an innocent, he is very dangerously balanced on the edge between light and dark, but with his failure to believe in the Jedi Code he cannot embrace the light, and with no selfish desire in his heart the dark cannot grasp him. Where he will fall only the future will tell.

*During history,until the fall of the empire and the begainings of the New Republic(after the movies) The Nagai were completely unknown to anyone in the universe accept for their own with the exceptions of warriors they sent out to scout the universe.Nagai are an honorable race forsaking most guns for knives and bladed weapons of the sort.Believing in honor and believing that if you can defeat an opponent without killing them or without even harming them is the greatest honor.The Nagai are short people with pale white skin and raven dark black hair.Adept in stealth,that is why their main land remains hidden as well as the existance of their scouts.

**Nagai mesh in made of mesh armor yet is constanting using energy that makes it almost like a sheild around the wearer,the mesh is extremely light and can be worn under the clothes of a Nagai.Using energy from a multitude of sorces,the armor asorbs energy based blows(Shots) most of the time when activated.The suits are made for a certian wearer to fit him perfectly so it does not constrict movement.

***Maltor's blade is a light weight blade that looks like a katana.The blade has a dark black hit and the blade is made of regular metal.Though the Nagai blacksmiths had found away to use small sheets of cortosis(a metal that can deactivate lightsabers and other energy like weapons) So the scouts modified blade when struck by a light saber can deactivate it.

Maltor Caccus is an Nagai Warrior sent out by the heads of the Nagai planet to scout out the other races of the universe.Maltor had volunteered to go becuase the scout loves warfare,loves the thrill of battle.Comming into the universe and the republic to seek battle against opponents in hopefully honorable combat,the scout participated in the Mandallorean wars,fighting as an unintentional ally of the republic becuase the Nagai found that Mandalloreans were a challenge.

Remaining in the Republic after the Mandallorean wars,the Scout returned to his homeworld to get a blade crafted,one he could use to fight the sith and their lightsabers.Quite literally seeking out things that wanted to the fight and things that had a lightsaber,the scout went.Rumor has hit the republic of a Ghost(Since the Nagai has pale skin) of a child(since the Nagai is shortish) hunts down force users,it was a myth that helped the Nagai infilitrate Korriban after reaven had been there to get the star map.

Some say the Nagai uses the force to guide his blade in his battles,other say it is his elite combat training.The Nagai view the force as an born gift from beings unknown and that were warriors are born with it,they are taught to use it to become dueling greats like Maltor.

I just wanna say I DIDN'T create this race,this is a real race that appears after the movies but in the stories approved by Lucas,they have sent scouts through the ages so its open for me to use this race during this Era.

I DM for SWRPG with my friends, and in the last campaign one of them INSISTED on being Nagai, he made me look everything up and I agreed to design some weapons for him based on what was in the books..... yeah... I know ALL about the Nagai.

Alright, so when a lightsaber strikes a blade or piece of armor made of a Cortosis weave, the lightsaber deactivates, undamaged. Any who play Jedi or Sith, please note this.

oc: okay giving this a go *smiles* was invited by TSB hope you all don't mind. Sorry if I slip up on detail but medieval is normally my thing futuristic is something new but I am willing to try.

I will need help with a character too, again hop you don't mind.

description - (this is were i need help, I am unsure of a role fitting to a woman in these times)

Strong willed and head strong , Seraphim is a red head with blazing blue eyes, fair skin and curvy figure. Her weapons are her charms and wit but she also has the ability to out draw any man, she is one deadly female when armed with a blaster pistol.

Defences she learnt growing up, father her only living relative the owner of a bar in which he forced her to work. Had also taken the time to show her how to use weapon. Knowing his days were numbered he wanted to ensure her survival.


Seraphim now a bounty hunter by profession searches for her next target, living one bounty to the next since her fathers passing. A hopeless gambler he had been unable to pay his debt and paid with his life. Seraphem had found him slaughtered at the card table.

Wanting revenge Seraphim now hunted scum for a living. Aside from her stunning good looks she was a sight to beheld dressed in her tight silver pants , chunky boots and tight silver top. all which allowed her fast movement and also served to distract her opponent. She hid all her weapons including her curvy body under a black jacket until the time called for them.

Name: Jedi Master Yarra Del'Qari
Age: 38 but appears younger
Description: Yarra is tall, almost six feet, and thin. She has very pale skin and light green hair that gives her a ghostlike quality. Her body is well toned but is almost always covered in her bulky robes.

Story: Yarra grew up on one of the main worlds of the republic and as such her great potential was discovered early on. She was trained and quickly rose through the ranks of the Jedi as her cool demeanor and great skills made her the perfect Jedi. She was selected to head up an All-Female jedi school on an supposedly deserted moon and has been there for 8 years.

She is always calm and cool and no one has ever seen her give in to passion or emotion. She is a determined believer in the Jedi Order.

Description: Blonde shoulder length hair, a slim 5'10" figure (made more so by having little money to buy food) green eyes, full lips, and a pert nose. Also, very pale skin.

story: Serena was the Padawan of master Quaharra. She trained under her for three years before Quaharra fell to the dark side and attempted to take her student with her. Serene was horrified with what she saw and fled. Now, she lives in fear of the sith and tries to avoid using the force at all costs, for fear that it will warp her as it did her master.

Serena is twichy and paranoid, until you gain her trust. otherwise she is a deeply caring person who genuinly wants to help others, but is afraid. She has a wry sense of humor and is somtimes prone to gawking at attractive males.

Nah. Jedi can be badass, just lighties never get to start anything (never for attack, and all that Yoda stuff). Just look at Mace Windu, Yoda, and good ol' Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan gets to cut off limbs all the time.

Sorta. The Force (the energy field formed by all life that is the source of a Jedi's power) has a light side and a dark side. The Dark side is formed from the "negative" emotions. Fear, anger, hate, aggression, etc. The Dark side offers quick and easy power, but is corrupting and destroying. Eventually it consumes all but the most powerful who fall to it (even the Emperor needed to keep transferring himself between clone bodies to keep from wasting away). Jedi strive to follow the light and avoid the temptation of the easy path.
