Primark stocked them last year, proper steel-boned ones that pulled you in and up and were delicious. FOR EIGHT POUNDS. Stupidly I didn't buy two of every colour like I should have and they don't seem to stock them this year. I just e-mailed Primark to ask them to bring them back this year... Please will as many of you as possible e-mail them too expressing interest in their corsets... Perhaps we can bring them back by popular demand.

If I get hold of a Primark corset I solemnly swear to post a picture of me wearing it...

ps- I have a burlesque costume to create and no suitable corset to wear. This is an emergency.

Yes. Several (as I was walking through to the menswear, of course...) but whether they were just in our local store or nationally, I don't know.

Ar least one stall in our local street market sells them on Saturdays. I think those could be described as "Saturday Night Specials" for wear when clubbing, for one night only.

Select had some corset style tops in last time i looked ... might be worth a looky. :rose:

Well that's the thing - I want a corset, not a corset-style Bustier top.

It has to have a busk that fastens down the front, laces in the back and good, rigid boning and a sturdy fabric. usually that'll set you back £50 as a minimum... And I couldn't see anything on the Matalan website ogg... but if I go near a branch I'll have a looksee. Thanks.

I do know the difference. I have three daughters. :)

The last time I visited Matalan they had some items that looked like corsets but I wasn't paying much attention. It also had a bargain bin for women's clothing with end of underwear lines etc. I had to drag a daughter away from it...

None of the items seemed to be regular Matalan stock.

Have you considered the larger supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco? Their clothing ranges in the larger stores are becoming more adventurous.

They're not much use to me. They don't do Henry VIII size.

Supermarkets are good for everyday clothes, even some occasionwear, but I've not seen anyone else do a proper corset except primark

Post this topic in the BDSM forum as well. You'll have a million woman/man march for cheap corsets in no time ;)

Starting a One-Woman campaign for cheap corsets.

I hope I am not being too picky, but I would prefer the term 'budget' over 'cheap.'

Why ?

8 quid???? (Does quick calculation - that's less than $20!)
Fuckety fuck fuck. Why do they never do things like that in Australia?

You ever ever find them again, I want to know pronto - I will swim there if I have to!!

What are your sewing skills like? You can make them quite cheaply, My mum made one for my sisters last ball gown and it's beautiful! The pattern didn't look too hard either.

My sewing skills are good, but far outstripped by a) the weight of my bosom which needs seriously hefty engineering, not sewing and b) the amount of time available which is seriously reduced by the fact that this is my final year and I have a dissertations and finals to prepare for.

Basically I'm not up to the job and it'd be cheaper to buy one for 8 quid...

Oh - and Zade? What does a corset do? Makes me look like Jessica Rabbit basically.
