Start with 5.00?

My new story just got posted, http://www.literotica.com/s/night-of-the-maidens-love, and with no viewers, it already has a 5.00, and in my dash, it appears to have been viewed, despite the zero listed on my profile. Do all stories star out with a 5.00?
Different sections of the site update on different schedules. Story scores are essentially real time, but nearly everything else updates every six, twelve, or twenty-four hours.

Does the story itself say it has views when you look at the bottom of the first page?

Probably a glitch

When I xhecked my dash, it said x amount of views, so I went to my profile page, and it was briefly not listed, so I went to the romance list, and saw it had no views, back to.my profile feom there, where it was now listed, and said no views.

No, stories don't start out with a 5.00.

You could always do the feel good think and decide that Laurel slipped it a 5.00 when she reviewed it and before the view counter started.

I've had that happen as well. As has already been mentioned, different parts update on different timelines. As for the five, it's been my experience, that most of my stories start with high votes and gradually plummet.

Not sure that gradual and plummet should go together, so perhaps just plummet.

I'be never caught a story of mine being posted, but the story list in my profile, and the stats at the bottom of the story read 0 votes, 0 reads(now it has aboit six), my dashboard read about 8xx views and a vote of 5.00. It now has a score of 3.75, and 6views. You could be right on her slipping it a 5.00, I wish I had screen shot it, maybe next post I will screen shot all three, and post them up- if I'm lucky to catch it again.

Practically anything like that can be explained as an anomaly computer glitch.

The views in the author's page only updates every 10-15 minutes or so.

So the story could have either been posted on the new list, the hubris, or your profile, and someone voted a 5 the moment it came up, and the views would say 0.

The numbers at the bottom of the story are taken about once a day so are almost meaningless early on. The score average on your public submission list is updated 2 or 4 times a day. Your private submission list score/votes/views are updated almost instantaneously. I think the numbers after your story title in the category are instantaneous too.

I've experimented with this, voting on my own story. By the time I reload my submission page, the vote is there.

The only place that's a reliable source of ( sort of ) real time information is your private author page -- that's the one that has the "approved" notations on it.

Even then, the views only update every 15 minutes.

Everywhere else you look, the statistics are behind. It may be a short period of time ( the category hubs ) or 24 hours behind ( toplists and the view listing at the bottom of the story ) but it is absolutely behind. Don't use any source other than your private author page for "current" information.
