alright, lets try another star wars thread. This is set in the future of the star wars universe, so we are a bit liberated in what we can do. The galaxy has shared relative peace the last few centuries under the Galactic Republic, and the Jedi Order has been restored to a level not seen in millenia. There are thousands of Jedi, at least one from practically every race. but there has been trouble brewing on the far rim, a new threat from beyond the galaxy, drawn by need and the influence of a still powerful cabal of Sith. They are the Dakari, a powerful race of force-warriors, bound by a culture centered around war, where the only worthwhile life is one forged and broken in the crucible of battle. The forces are assembling to fight another war for survival. The forces of the light must be victorious, or the galaxy will burn.

alright, i have a couple provisions on characters.

1) cannot be Dakari
2) as many people can be Jedi as they wish.
3) any sentient race can be jedi. you want Wookie Jedi? fine, Mandalorian? perfectly okay, Yuuzhan Vong? sure, they were force sensitive once, whos to say they havent regained it. Ewok? knock yourself out.
4)characters can be Sith, but as stated above cannot be Dakari.

jedi in this era are more relaxed then in say, the prequel trilogy. They can marry, wear whatever they want, have blasters as well as lightsabers. Many are more warrior then diplomat, but are still expected to perform other jedi functions.

as for write-ups, standard format, most everyone oughta know what that entails, if your confused feel free to ask.

anyone interested?

What a stupid question to ask, Ren. Why the hell would you ask it? You know full well that I'm going to be interested. Or was that question directed at others, seeing as how it's a given that I'm interested. If it says Star Wars, I'm looking into it. :D

Count me in.

why state the obvious?

Because some people won't recognize the obvious even if it jumped up and punched them in the nose. :D

This sounds rather interesting. Though, I think with Star Wars nerds like you guys I'd feel rather... ummm.... diminished :D

BTW: I do actually like star wars

Name: Vedico Rhon
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Homeworld: Nar Shaddaa
Age: 58
Height: 6'
Weight: 210 lbs
Hair: Shoulderlength white with black streaks
Eyes: Pale blue

Description: Growing up on Nar Shaddaa, the smuggler's moon, is not an easy affair. With both parents struggling to survive on this mean, Hutt-controlled moon, Vedico learned early how to fend for himself. No romantic tale of Jedi heroics for him, or a career in the Republic's army. No, he became what Nar Shaddaa made him: a criminal.

The only thing that worked in Vedico's favor was his uncannily sharp intellect. He wasn't stronger or faster than his peers, but he was smarter. Much smarter. And, as it turned out, much more devious.

At age 13 he joined a swoop gang. At age 17 he'd killed three men already. At age 22 he finally managed to secure a berth on a smuggling vessel as a deckhand. A week later, before the vessel had even reached its destination, Vedico had gained control of the ship through subterfuge, violence and murder.

Ever since he's been prowling the space lanes, taking on jobs wherever they present themselves, evading the Republic's security forces and his countless enemies. Smuggling, kidnapping, extortion, assassination, Vedico does it all. He is a monster, and if he'd have had any Force sensitivity at all he'd probably have ended up a Sith. But the Force is a mystery to him, so he can only rely on his human abilities to keep him alive and prosperous in this most hazardous of careers.

And so far, that has been more than enough.

Assets: Vedico owns three starfaring ships, two of which are currently undergoing repairs and refits in secure berths on Nar Shaddaa. His current vessel and base of operations is an ancient, heavily modified Marauder Corvette, humorously called Blame My Mother.
Vedico employs a small group of henchmen, mostly criminals from Nar Shaddaa, of a wide variety of species. He rules this rowdy gang with an iron fist, severely punishing even the slightest hint of disobedience or deceit. He also rewards loyalty handsomely, thus providing ample incentive for his henchmen to obey his commands.

Reputation: Vedico is not a celebrity by any standards, but he enjoys some notoriety in the criminal circuit. Many attempts at his life have been made, but so far he has survived them all. There are rumors that he is a Dark Jedi, but in reality he's just a very smart and cautious sociopath.

Edit: added some info on assets and reputation

I have an idea for a character, Ren, but I think it just might be a little over the top. I'll PM you with the basic idea to see what you think.

Knight of the Old Code

For your consideration:

Name: Tal Varsus
Race: Human (Coruscanti)
Age: 41

Jedi Master Varsus considers himself to be a Jedi Knight of the old Order, having studied the holocrons of the old masters. He holds absolutely no ill-regard to any of his fellow, more liberated Jedi, but simply prefers to follow the ideals of the old ways.

He typically wears the brown robes of the Jedi, but occasionally wears a black/dark blue robe, and often a black armored battlesuit when going on a mission that requires it. He's on his second lightsaber now, a two-handed hilt with a blue-white blade. He prefers not to be asked what happened to his first one. Varsus was originally trained in the Fast and Medium styles of combat, but has since become adept at Soresu, Ataru, and is one of the few that has mastered the ferocious style of Vapaad. He is often the lightsaber instructor for Padawans as they complete the building of their own lightsabers, for those that train at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He does, on occasion, make trips to Ossus, or at the request of his friend and counsel, Jedi Master Thorror, journey to Kashyyk.

Varsus is considered by his peers to be wise and calm when dealing with conflict, although most know he holds his temper closely in check. A past brush with the Dark Side, as all Jedi have faced, left him fearful of his anger's emergence. It is through a very tight Force control on his anger and emotion that enables him to use the lightsaber style of Vapaad to its fullest. It is rumored he has a love interest, but he denies it due to his persistence of following the Old Code. Still, others have noticed how he and a certain Twi'lek female Jedi seem to be very close with each other.....

Varsus is currently without a Padawan, and spends most of his time instructing at the Jedi Temple and sitting in quietly on Council meetings.

Ummm...could this character be a master? Are there masters? A council? Where are the Pop Tarts at again?

The Pop Tarts are in the upper left cabinet, on your right. And all the drinks you could want are in the walk-in frige on your left.

So, your character follows the code of the Old Jedi Order, eh? Perfect, just what I needed. ;)

name: Reyn Ordo

age:27

gender: male

class: Jedi knight

race: Mandalorian (human)

description: 5'11" 252 pounds, brown hair, hazel eyes. wears mandalorian crusader mark III armor in purple and black.

weapons: mandalorian heavy blaster, purple lightsaber. wrist mounted flamethrower and flechette launcher. mandalorian combat knife. Mandalorian Force-Claws (invented by him. consists of two short lightsaber blades emitted from his right gauntlet.)

History: Reyn was born into battle. Son of the Current Mandalore, he was raised in the traditional mandalorian way. He was taught to fight with blades, guns, and his hands. taught how to hunt and track. and taught how to live with the honour that befit a mandalorian warrior. he excelled in his lessons and was admitted to the supercommandos after his coming of age. During his time, a Wookie Jedi master named Thorror discovered his powerful force potential. Although at first reluctant to join the Jedi, Mandalore convinced him, citing the well known combat prowess of the Jedi and even appealed to his sons mandalorian pride, saying: "Go my son, show them all that mandalorians are truly the greatest of the galaxy's warriors." Reyn then decided to attend the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV, , before heading to the newly reborn Jedi Temple on corsucant. There he perfected his Teras Kasi, and mastered Shii-cho, Makashi, Ataru, Djem So and Soresu. He ascended into Knighthood, with the blessings of his master Thorror.

As a jedi, Reyn has shown himself to be a masterful poet, diplomat, and philsopher, as well as a peerless warrior. He was appointed Jedi Watchman of the Mandalore sector, and many expect he will be invited to join the council when he achieves master status.

name: Thorror

age:423

gender:male

class: Jedi Master

race:Wookiee

description: 8' feet tall 456 pounds. reddish brown fur. with a grey streak running from his left eye all the way down his back. green eyes. unlike most wookiees Thorror does wear clothing, wearing traditional jedi robes.

weapons: two silver lightsabers, with hilts styled like the traditional ryyk blades of his home planet kashyyyk. made with damind crystals, and krayt dragon pearls, the size of the hilt results in a very large lightsaber blade. also carries one actual ryyk blade because according to wookiee custom "A warrior without a ryyk blade is a webweaver without fangs."

history: Thorror was born on Kashyyyk during a period of slavery for the wookiee people. He escaped slavery and ran into the shadowlands, where he was taken in by a tribe of fierce Wookiee Berserkers, who had sworn to resist the slavers to the death. He was taught the brutal wookiee style of combat, and became known among the tribe as the "best blade since Bacca". Eventually with the aid of the Republic the Wookiees were freed, and aged 113 Thorror met the Jedi leader of the Republic liberation force, Jaden Kor, and was discovered to have a blood midichlorian content of around 20,000. He was then invited to join the Jedi. He studied at coruscant and Ossus and achieved Knighthood at 145. at age 189 he achieved the status of master.

He studied extensively from ancient texts and holocrons. adopting the philosophy of the living force and further developing the "I see more grey then dark or light." maxim of the ancient human Jedi Jolee Bindo, writing several texts of jedi philosophy.

He is a master of makashi, soresu, and djem so, developing the style of Baarror, a mixture of the three and native wookiee styles, often using two sabers. He is a member of the council and will most likely recieve the Grandmastership at the death of the current grandmaster Jak Katarn.

Thorror has trained many padawans, including the Mandalorian Jedi Reyn Ordo and is considered by most to be in the "top ten" Jedi masters of all time, and is probably the most famous jedi of the present day. No jedi in the order hasnt heard of Thorror.

Thorror underwent experimental surgery to alter his vocal capabilities so he could speak Basic as well as Shyriiwook, although he speaks both with what is considered an accent. He also is master of praxeum on kashyyyk, that focuses on teaching Baarror and Survival techniques.

He is a known user of force lightning and battle meditation.

Ren that's a really awesome character you've developed for the Wookie Thorror.

Not bad at all for a creature that's really just a big 'walking carpet'!!

Heh heh!!! Just kidding with you! I really, really do like the character.

Want a Pop Tart?

I edited my post, adding lightsaber styles and stuff.

Aagh Koth

Took me a little while, but I'm pleased to introduce to you, Aagh Koth, Jedi Master!

Name: Aagh Koth
Species: Zabrak
Gender: Male
Homeworld: Iridonia
Physical Age: 35
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 235 lbs

Equipment: Dual-phase lightsaber, light armor with cortosis weave, and (to be found nearby) a fully-loaded, modified Republic Shipyards Jedi Justice Cruiser, called the Baato.

Description: Appears to be human, with a two-inch long scar on his left cheek, bald head, and a moustache/goatee combo, but that is just a disguise projected through the Force. He can change this disguise at will, making next to impossible to identify him if he does not want to be recognized. His real appearance is that of a Zabrak, complete with the horns on his head, and a two-inch long scar on his right cheek. Only one person will have seen his true appearance in the present time, and that would be the person who frees him (see History below).

History: Aagh Koth is a Jedi Master of the Old Republic, literally. He has survived by being frozen in carbonite (although, not willingly) by a criminal cartel that he had been trying to infiltrate sometime during the Clone Wars. Obviously, he was not successful, but his identity as a Jedi had remained secret. After freezing him in carbonite, the cartel then tried to break into his ship, but when all their attempts failed, they decided to store his ship with him. He was then taken to the ice world of Hoth and placed in a secure bunker hidden beneath the frozen wasteland. His ship was placed in a nearby hangar. The cartel has since been destroyed and the bunker on Hoth long forgotten.

Reputation: During Aagh’s career, he had gained a considerable reputation in the criminal underworld as one who could either send you to the top or send you to an early grave. It was rumored that he was actually a very powerful crime lord whose influence rivaled that of the Black Sun Crime Syndicate. It was never suspected that he was a Jedi tasked with rooting out evil.

Assets: To back up the rumor that he was a crime lord, Aagh had amassed a small fortune in his name, consisting of holdings spread throughout the galaxy in companies like KDY, Sienar, and various other companies that have since grown to prominence. Included in his fortune was a bank account that, at the time of the Clone Wars, had nearly 20,000 Republic credits in it, while he himself carried 200 credits at all times. At the time of his reawakening, due to change in currency and accumulation of interest, his fortune has grown exponentially, making him practically the richest man in the galaxy.

On his ship, the Baato, are a high-end, custom built R4-series astromech droid, two custom ordered Baktoid Combat Automata B2 series battle droids, and one Droideka Series battle droid. Also on his ship are several Jedi artifacts that he has found through his travels, but did not return to the temple, including three true Jedi Holocrons.

If anything's out of line, Ren, just let me know.

Oh yeah, Khan, that's awesome...

...I feel a disturbance in the Force...as if someone was crying out....asking to be set free......
