Star Wars: The Force Awakens

That was a bit of a jaw dropper. (literally....I went "whoa!")

Predictably, the netsphere is already buzzing about that.

"Black stormtrooper WTF clones aren't black!"

The stormtroopers in Star Wars aren't clones. The clone troopers are clones (obviously). The cloning facilities were closed down after the end of the Clone Wars and most clones (who grew at an accelerated rate) had died out by Episode IV. The majority of the servicemen in the Imperial army were either enlisted or drafted.

Next retarded complaint?

I hope it's a really good storyline. I read the EU books so I'm depending on a good storyline.

As I'm sure has been pointed out elsewhere, what's interesting is that "stormtroopers" were originally WWI German Soldiers ... so it's certainly a move, and perhaps a liberating one, to have a black stormtrooper in this film.

I wonder what major changes they'll make in post based on reaction to the trailer.

Before Return Of The Jedi was released, faked scripts were distributed to screw with fans and generate hype.

Nowadays with digital effects, it would be easy to release fake trailers.

Pretty sure the black dude was wearing the storm trooper armor as a disguise. Did like Benedict Cumberbatch doing his Smaug voice for a Sith. Plus, the Claymore-styled lightsaber is pretty damn cool.

A BLACK STORMTROOPER!!!

Made me think I was watching a parody for a second.

The clones were made from Jango Fett.

He certainly wasn't white.

no, he was maori. or a maori. i really don't know. i'm not a sheep fucker. someone go find that debbie chick.

and as a guy who was in high school when the special edition came out and wasted money to see all those shitty prequels in the theatre i am not going to be getting my hopes up even with george lucas' complete lack of involvement. i learned my lesson, damnit.

Just because the black guy in the trailer had a storm trooper suit on does not mean he was a storm trooper. If you remember in Star Wars: A New Hope ,Luke and Han Solo both disguised themselves in storm trooper suits. Most likely the guy in the trailer was someone disguised in a storm trooper suit.

im one of those who didn't enjoy the prequels. i havent even seen the last one.

but this trailer has filled me with hope!

Jango Fett was not Maori. They're from New Zealand. Jango and everyone else in the Star Wars universe are from a Galaxy far, far away.
