Pirates. Smugglers. Mercenaries. Bounty Hunters. Assassins. Dharbin Crest and the crew of the White Shadow have been called all these things, and they will take on almost any job if the rewards are lucrative enough. When not on a mission, the crew relaxes on the Smugglers' Moon, Nar Shaddaa, the largest moon orbiting Nal Hutta. More often than not, they find themselves staying at Harvin's Sky Palace, a large tower hotel and resort built on an artificial island floating above the Promenade.

The Promenade was a glitzy and extravagant commercial district of Nar Shaddaa. The area was run by the Hutts of the Hutt Cartel and boasted casinos, boutiques, and a massive golden statue of Karagga in the center of the Promenade square. The Sky Palace featured many of these types of attractions as well, including a cantina, exotic dancers, prostitution, gambling, a variety of hotel rooms and suites, and most importantly, Harvin's List. The List was a HoloNet website broadcast from a local closed server, meaning you could only access it from within the Sky Palace. It acted as a platform for people to post jobs and bounties, with the catch being that you had to be a customer of the Sky Palace in order to post ads or respond to them. This made crime lord Yhal Harvin very rich and one of the most valued associates of the Hutt Cartel.

The Promenade as a whole was known for being the safest and most "legitimate" on the Smuggler's Moon. Every Hutt clan contributed a portion of their security force to maintain its order and safety, with a separate unit assigned specifically to the Sky Palace. The crew of the White Shadow -- like many other criminals -- spent most of their time between missions at the Sky Palace so they could monitor the List for new jobs.

Our characters make up the crew of the White Shadow. You can be whatever type of character you'd like. We'll place this story about ten years after the Galactic Empire replaced the Republic, and about nine years before A New Hope. Dharbin Crest is going to be a former Jedi Knight who fought in the Clone Wars. When Order 66 caused his clone troopers to turn on him and kill his young apprentice, Dharbin lashed out in rage and grief, and was forever changed. He mercilessly slaughtered his troopers, and then spent the next several months trying to track down any other Jedi survivors. Your characters could be other Jedi he discovered. Regardless, Dharbin then secretly returned to Coruscant, intending to assassinate Palpatine in his apartment. The Emperor sensed him coming, however, and was prepared. An epic battle followed, and while Palpatine easily defeated Dharbin, he chose not to kill him because he sensed great power within the young Knight and saw his potential to wield the Dark Side.

The Emperor then presented Dharbin with the Holocron of Naga Sadow, an ancient Sith Alchemist. He told the young Knight to study it, get stronger, and return to face him again one day. He then assaulted Dharbin with Force Lightning until the Knight blacked out. When he regained consciousness, he was laying in a dumpster with the Holocron shoved in his jacket. If you play other Jedi, we could say they attacked Palpatine as a team.

Regardless, Dharbin studied the Holocron, either by himself or with the group, and came to appreciate the power of the Dark Side. From there his moral compass shifted considerably, and over the course of the next decade he wormed his way deeper into the galactic organized crime circuits. When we start the RP, we'll be at Harvin's Sky Palace when a new job comes in that requires us to infiltrate an Imperial prison ship that is transporting Harvin's cousin, a convicted mass murderer. We get half of the haul up front and the other half once we return to the Sky Palace with the rescued cousin. This mission earns us favor with both Harvin and the Hutt Cartel, and opens us up to better jobs and rewards.
