Star Wars: Episode II - appropriate for a 6 year old?

Episode II not appropriate for anyone who wants to see a good movie.

Six is too young. Battle scenes aplenty, and a small boy watches his father get decapitated. Try Milo & Stitch instead. :)

There's nothing in there that isn't appropriate. It wasn't really scary at any point.
I took 3 of my nephews, 5,7,10 and they were all fine. They read the subtitiles outloud, it was kinda funny. Maybe not to the guy sitting next to them, but to me.

I wouldnt take mine.

Try Lilo and Stitch,Hey Arnold,or wait till the Powerpuff Girls come out.

My kids are clammering to go. ;)

See, I'm trying to avoid the whole Lilo and Stitch thing because that looks really, really awful.

Somebody tell me it's a good movie.

I just noticed that Lilo and Stitch and Hey Arnold are also both rated PG. Sheesh. Doesn't anybody make a G rated movie anymore? Even Disney?

Nope.

Did you see Dinosaur?

Scared my youngest very badly.

He might get it... or maybe not

If he's above average intelligence for a 6 year old, don't take him, it will insult his intelligence...

Ok, a kid does watch his father get be-headed, but in the Lion King Simba watche his father get trambled by wildebeasts.

Disney is sick and twisted in more ways than I can list. I like the movies, I do, but there is always an orphan or a dead animal.

Maybe they are trying to teach kids about life, but I think it's a little over done.

Well, I gave him the choices and he said he wants to see Star Wars.

I don't mind animated movies when they're done well. I loved Shrek and Toy Story.

Now that I think about it, I read far more gruesome stuff when I was a kid than what's shown in Disney or Star Wars flicks. Try the unabridged versions of the Grimm Brothers or Hans Christian Anderson fairy tales. The Little Mermaid is instructed to murder the prince and his new bride, but instead commits suicide in order to spare her true love. Perhaps reading the stuff instead of having it visually spoonfed makes the difference in a kid's ability to cope with the material.

I recently watched Shrek with my Dad. No kids, just me and Dad. He loved it.

There is a lot of animation that isn't just for kids.

Take them to see Star wars He's six years old and dosn't frighten easy the love scenes will probley make him want to puke but hell i wanted to as well, the battle scenes arn't to violent theres not Blood Spraying ever where Woopy Jango's head gets lobbed off He's a Boy He's probley Ripping the arms off his Gi Joes and such take him to see it, Besides every one should get to see yoda go postal

*flips off all those who dissed Star Wars*

Okay, Lilo and Stitch... decent movie. Not great. Went to see it with my sister the other day. It was cute in parts, but it's not something I want to see again, unless it's on video. And you're right about the orphan or death thing... Lilo's an orphan. Her parents are dead, and she lives with her older sister. Social workers keep coming to try and take her away.

It might be rated PG for the whole "shoot everything in sight" section when some aliens are coming for Stitch. Like I said, decent movie, but wait for the video. Don't waste your money.

Now, I liked Star Wars. Maybe that's because I'm totally hot over Ewan McGregor, that sexy li'l Jedi, or Yoda's fight scene just made me laugh. Hayden Christensen.... he sucks. Very badly. Pez and I saw that movie together, and we made fun of every single romance scene. I never dated much, and I've dated losers, and well.... I've had better relationships. Sick sad, boy.

Obi-Wan rocked... *drools insanely for a moment then remembers herself*

As far as you taking your six year old... Star Wars is better than Shrek. At least in Star Wars, you don't have to worry about your child repeating cuss words. You don't know how many times I heard "I've gotta save my ass" from the neighborhood.

Oh, and UrbanRiot? Um... there's this thing called a "period." It's the key right down by the question mark. It makes posts alot easier to read. Thanks. ;)

:p What’s the point of using one any way, I type Like I talk one great big rambling run on that doesn’t need to or matter if it’s makes sense to you or any one else at all. Now, pointing out typos lack of or over use of my punctuation on the other hands really well is pointless, But From now on I dub you my typo nazi, You know what I better send All my post to you before I post them! Just so you can correct them right. God For Bit I have run on some ones god damn head my explode oh or worse then that I might piss of some one who has severely elongated stick up her ass. I'll still let you have my baby so don't worry and for the love of God are you serously that bad of reader?

Whoa, whoa whoa.. You better calm the fuck down, little shit. I was not "pointing out your mistake" to be a bitch. I was saying it because it truly is hard to read that way. Not hard to understand, but hard to read. I was making the comment for others.

I'm a fucking English major, with a minor in creative writing. It's hard for me not to point out something if it will make it easier for someone else to read. I will apologize for having it come out wrong.

But you have been here all of 15 posts, and you dare to judge me already? You, my grammatically impoverished friend, are a hypocritical, judgemental, ego-maniac who thinks that they can come onto the boards, post one comment and have everyone love what they say, just because they bitch off someone about a grammatical comment.

Ask anyone on this board, I am not some bitch with an elongated stick up my ass. But you need to learn your place for the moment, and get to know someone before you judge them.

Typo-Nazi indeed.

Sorry, Ruby

I can't tell you if Lilo & Stitch was good. I CAN say it got some pretty good reviews.

*offers a sheepish smile to Ruby* Sorry hon... I just don't appreciate being trolled or judged irrationally for bringing something to someone's attention.

No harm meant, and you get attacked. *shakes head*

Lilo and Stitch probably did get good reviews. I just didn't like it all that much. *chuckles* Then again, I didn't like Shrek and everyone else did so... what does that tell you? ;)

*Grins and runs into a wall* DOES It MAKE YOU MAD WHEN PEOPLE HAVE TYPOS AND TALK IN CAPTIALASA LETTERS AND ALL THAT
naaa, it's Allright I just havn't slept yet and felt like pissing some one off WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. You do know who this is right lol?

Sure, take him to see Star Wars. Just don't let him read this post ;)

It is however a good example of where entertainment has gone in the past 20 years. The ONLY thing that has disappointed me with the EPI and EPII movies is the way the 'feel' of them has matured. Are they kid friendly...yeah I suppose. But they aren't the dream movies they once were.

Maybe it's me getting older. Go, Enjoy.
