Alright!! Has anyone seen the movie???

I've been a huge Star Wars fan and I just saw the movie that Sunday the 20th and I thought it was amazing!!!!!

What's your thoughts on it?

ANYONE THAT HASNT SEEN IT SHOULDNT BE READING THIS! Don't want to spoil it because it's THAT GOOD!!!!!

Very good I thought. Been a fan from the first time I saw SW in '77 at the drive in. Interesting the various parallels to the original movie. Effects were fantastic! Did not wear my jedi robe to the theater though.

Two weeks into the most successful movie run of all time and you're asking if anyone has seen it?

It was ok.

Too many tropes that just followed Episode 4. It didn't stand on it's own as a great movie, but it was worth watching. I'm was a huge star wars fan as a kid, but I don't think this captured the true spirit of the originals.

Needless to say, it was far better than the prequels, not that it's saying much.

I could have used a little more tension throughout the movie, a little less "we're going to go here and do this", and instead, a bit more of an actual story and plot arc. However, I can feel for the director, as he's being pulled in a million directions trying to satisfy a bunch of different opinions at once.

It was worth seeing, and I'll see the next two, but they just don't feel like Star Wars movies to me. There was too much focus on newly colored x-wings and stormtroopers, and stuff for marketing.

BTW, it's really freakin' good. Essentially a remake/reboot while also advancing the story. That's a hard balancing act for even a good director and writer. Abrams and Kasdan pulled it off nicely. I'm actually going to see it again next week and I very rarely do something like that.

Not all of us amuse ourselves with such banality. There is only one true power in the universe, God! One day you may feel his force.

On the other hand I can't be the only one who thought the Star Killer planet looked like a giant Pokemon ball. Surely they could have come up with a better design but I get that they were going for a giant Death Star feel. Still, come on.

I enjoyed it.

Y'all have some good points I thought it was amazing and one of the best ones I thought.

Oh that guy...haha I didn't realize it until you said something and now looking back on it it does look like a Pokemon ball!!

So what do you guys think who Rey is? I think it's Lukes daughter!

It doesn't make sense for her to be Lukes daughter. Who did he have sex with? I thought Jedi were forbidden from kids and marriage.
I'm thinking something else but still part of the family. Leia seemed awful emotional with her when they finally met and I think her and Han had a daughter at some point in the expanded universe although I only follow that through things like wiki just so I kind of know what's going on in that universe.

Luke is the last of the Jedi, he can make whatever rules he wants.

If it were real then yes but it's a movie that has a very loyal, fanatical fan base so changing the rules on something as big as the Jedi would be a really bad move on the writers part and so far they've kept to the basic rules of that universe.
She could be his daughter and have a decent explanation for it but I doubt it. Doesn't fit.

Obviously I had been to see the original and watched it again just recently. This was far more in keeping, and so enjoyable.

Very glad I went to see this on the big screen and will not spoil the show for anyone. Just go and see it for yourself. No doubt you will enjoy.

Go Chewy...

I am curious as to how big a part Chewie will have in the sequels. It's implied that maybe he and the Falcon will be part of the whole trilogy but we'll see. I'd like to see him stick around with Rey but with the love interest with Finn they might go in another direction. I'm actually very excited for the next movie because of all the unanswered questions. Of course I'm sure that's what their plan was the whole time.

I'm going with Kylo Ren's twin sister. After all, twins run in families.

That's sort of what I was thinking because it fits the expanded universe enough to satisfy fans of that (at least from what I remember) and doesn't violate the rules of the Jedi and explains a whole bunch of stuff that definitely needs explaining.

I enjoyed it, but think it could have been better. I think Kylo Ren is a lame villain.

I agree I mean it's probly just re immaturity in him but I don't think he is going to be as strong as Darth Vador and I really don't see him becoming the Villian he wants to be!

If Rey were Kylo Ren's twin sister one would think that Han or Leia would have at least mentioned it, or recognized her, what with their being her parents and all.

It was really good but I agree with the above statement. Too much rehashing of old plot lines for me. I was really hoping for some new twist that would keep me on the edge of my seat. I'm sure it was for the next generation of fans and not for an old dude who should be on to other things by now.
