The USS Faraday -- commanded by Captain John Shepard -- is a Starfleet science vessel sent to help establish a research base on a newly discovered planet deep in an uninhabited sector known as the Kolavar Reach. Also on this ship is a group of teenagers who have just graduated from high school and are considering entering Starfleet Academy. This three-week cruise is part of the Junior Cadet Program, where the students will get a taste of life on a ship as well as various scientific and engineering fields of study as they help set up the new base.

But one of the teenagers happens to be the daughter of Captain Shepard, who immediately takes a liking to one of her father's science officers, Lieutenant Darbin Crest. The students are separated into small groups, one of which is headed by Darbin. The Captain's daughter makes sure she gets assigned to his group, and he leads them on a scouting mission on the new planet to investigate some rather odd sensor readings from a cave system not too far from the landing site.

Prior to this, the planet was scanned multiple times and it was confirmed there was no danger. However, as the team enters the caves, there seems to be an electromagnetic disturbance, and suddenly a pack of werewolf-like creatures appear out of nowhere. A tense battle ensues, after which the monsters either die or flee. Not sure where they came from, Darbin attempts to contact the base, but none of their commbadges are working.

They take their shuttle back to the base, but are shocked to discover it is not there. After comparing new scans with the information from when they first arrived, they deduce that the electromagnetic disturbance flung them into the distant past. Returning to the caves, they find no source of the temporal anomaly, and must instead focus on survival.

The shuttle does have a slower, older Warp Drive, but the trip back to Earth would take years at that speed, and the vessel is too small to support them for that long. Instead, Darbin decides to dismantle the shuttle and use the parts to build a quantum relay tachyon emitter, which can detect temporal distortions that occurred in the recent past and give sensor readings on the disturbance. This starts a chain of events telling a long and epic story.

This can be done as a one on one or a group thread, depending on who shows interest. I will play Darbin, and a female writer will play the Captain's daughter. Anyone interested?

I have a few ideas for male characters that would fit here if you can get enough interest for a group thread.
