Oh.... No. I am sorry Todd. I didn't see this.

I've never gotten a pm from you. :( What is going on?

:(

I am sorry to seem like I was blowing you off. I'd never do that on purpose.

I want to post this, so you know I care, and that I am not ignoring you, and then I will adress the matter you are inquiring about.

I was curious to yourprice range

I've not been coming here much at all. When I do, I read only what is on the first 3 or 4 pages, and by then I am out of time.

:(

I must have missed you.

Well, I've not really got a set price for my work.
I sort of charge by the hour and by the piece, depending on what the deal is with content of composition, media, and detail.

Because I am a full time student, I don't have the time I'd like to have to paint, and I still consider myself an active learner, so I don't ever charge exhorbinant amounts for anything I do, however, I have to pay the bills. ;)

Mind you've I've only sold two peices, I am aware of what I'd charge for one's I've done in the past, based on what they are, so I have a basis to go on.

What I was thinking of doing was spending the next two months doing several peices and then putting them up on ebay and auctioning them off. When this happens I will make sure to link my pages to lit, so those who want to buy my art can give it a shot.

Here is the deal on commissions.

I currently don't frame. This will change in the future, but right now I cannot do it. I do mat, but the cost of shipping is almost not worth the effort.

Watercolors... I can do a variety of sizes, and the cost will range based on time, and size. I feel now, that these are best shipped in a tube, rather than matted, until I do my own framing.

Acrylics.... well, what can I say... I can buy any size canvas. I can also do canvas boards. Soon, I will be constructing my own canvases but I must finish cleaning and organizing my woodshop for that to happen. Acrylics, in the end, prolly cost the buyer less, because you can hang them unframed, and they look great. You can frame them, but it isn't needed to make the peice hangable. However, shipping is an issue.....

Here is the deal on shipping.... and item over 16 inches ???? 30 inches???? (I'll have to check, don't remember) in size is deemed as a 70lb item (don't ask me why, but I think UPS and FedX are rapists) and is super pricy.. 70+ dollars.)

That is why I want to only send watercolors out in tubes until I can do the framing, because it will be cheaper for the buyer to pay for a peice to be matterd and framed (which is the bulk of the cost of any painting being done) by a local framer, even though that can be 200+ dollar investment, depending on size, frame choice, and mat cost and labor.

I know this is not saying much, but maybe it would be best for those who want to buy some stuff, to wait untill I start auctioning off stuff at ebay. My website will also have an ebay links page added when I start doing that.

Right now, I am finishing a peice for my Mother and Father (whom I've not painted for in over 6 years) When it is done, I will start some projects for sale.

cool thank you for that info, it will give me a lot to consider

please let us know once ebay starts, pretty please

Duh. Here is a better way of putting it....

I charge about 12.50-13 bucks an hour.

A large watercolor sheet (unframed) with minimal detail will go for around 70.
A large watercolor sheet with great detail will go for around 150.
Smalls go for about... 30 depending.

Acrylics are another story.

I won't lie, I gave Ruby and awesome deal on her portrait, but I would say that a medium sized one... (that size) will go for around 130 depending on detail.

Medium sized boards will go for around 60-80.

And the price increases with detail (time), and size increse.

Is that a better explaination?
