Anyone played Star Craft 2 Terran campaign??? I was thinking while we're waiting for the Zerg campaign, we could RP that part OR rp the first campaign and splice in etc.

need: people who know the star craft franchise :)

Well, now this is slightly different. Yeah, I'm familiar with the SC2 campaign and story. Played it twice.

How would you proceed? Work off the canon or shall we venture out and make a parallel story that doesn't involve any of the established characters?

venture out a parallel story but work the important characters in the background so that when the zerg campaign starts out, we can incorporate what's happening as well (any relevant information that we can splice into the RP)

*spoiler*

The Zerg campaign. Now that's a big question mark for me. What the hell happens to Kerrigan? You see at the end of the Terran campaign that she's no longer the Queen of Blades, but she's still not entirely human, i.e. the hair is definitely not human hair. So the question is, does she maintain control of the Swarm? And if so, what the hell happens?

Splicing in revelant info, eh? I can probably do that with Star Craft. I do that with a running Star Wars character concept I have.

I hope you have a storyline (campaign) in mind that can be used, because all I have is a character concept.

hmmm according to the terran campaign, concerns the jim raynor-mengsk alliance to save kerrigan, in which they succeed. but except for that part, they leave the dominion away from that. so we could roleplay characters from the dominion military or defecting planets (with their military) and act out their part

the story would focus on either the dominion side or the free planets (example: dominion trying to conquer the free planets because the current zerg threat has been nullified thanks to jim raynor)

On a side note, i agree with you about kerrigan... she cant be 100% entirely human...

but everything else is doing okay

either the dominion side or the free planet story is okay with me... except the dominion side is more... interactive...

Jedi, in your game, did you save the good doctor?

First time through I did. Second time I was curious. So sad what happened.

yeah... so sad... ^^ we could incorporate a story line where she lived :) I was always curious how she would do without the glasses and uniform

Hm....can you elaborate a bit more on the whole dominion or free planet thing? I'm not entirely sure what the difference is between the two in terms of story, I think...I'm not even sure on what I'm referring to.

hahaha remember that part of the campaign where you expose Arcturus Mengsk as a ruthless dictator who would do whatever he can to rule?? the aftermath was a lot of planets defected from the dominion.

Yeah, I remember that. So, if I understand this correctly, you either want to take the role of one of the break away planets that is now trying to solidify its independence or you want to play the role of the Dominion in taking away that independence. Is that what you are saying?

pretty much, but we cant play a planet so we could play the primary military and civilian leaders and the important secondary officers so that we both have plot and sub-sexual contents.

I would love to join, but only if I could play the Zerg.

Here's my idea; The Overmind isen't nessicerly all-powerful. I mean, that kind of omnipotency would make it impossable for him(?) to even function. So, of course, he uses the ceribrates. Then again, the ceribrates have shown independent thought, so they must have free will. Following that logic, at some point a ceribrate probebly decided they could be a better Overmind, but failed. His(?) Hive, thus lacking any real control , evolved a semi-national structure and grew to dominate a far-flung plantiod, which the Overmind kept alive out of curiousity. The leader is a psudeo-evolved Hunter-Killer, who can speak rough terrian and act with relative hopatality.

A Cerebrate that somehow survived The Queen of Blades rise to power after the Overmind was killed?

Keragan has Cerebrates. She mentions it in BW's last mission pre-face. Or, alternativly, if you choose to ignore that, that could be the event that killed the Cerebrate.

It just seems to me that Kerrigan neither had use for nor wanted the Cerebrates, especially after they tried remaking the Overmind twice, something she hated with a passion.

Plus, it seems from what Lans is saying, this will probably end up being exclusively Terran. We have no clue what happens to the Swarm after Kerrigan is returned to a semi-human state, i.e. do they go on a mindless, uncontrolled rampage, or do they become docile beasts still under Kerrigan's control?

I was hoping to play a Protoss commander, but I first needed to know what Lans had in mind.

I haven't played the new game, but would be interested in a space combat thread....

In My Mind

let's see... Protoss still alive so we could include them in the RP although HOW we can include them in the thread is up to Jedi.

as for the Zerg, let's just assume that upon the transformation of kerrigan into semi-full human, some zerg under her control went rogue and formed a cerebrate of their own which kerrigan was unable to counter because of her weakened state due to the attack. we are assuming that the zerg is NOT on the same planet as kerrigan's because as far as i can tell... majority of the zerg on the planet she was in was wiped out.

How I'll incorporate the Protoss into the thread will be dependent entirely on what happens in the thread. I'm sure I'll be able to find a way to slide them into the story that is logical and probably unexpected.

As for the Zerg, yeah, I would certainly think that every Zerg within at least a 500km radius of the Xel'Naga artifact - if not every Zerg on the planet Char - got fried. So, assuming that a new Cerebrate was created after Kerrigan's transformation, it would definitely be on a different planet and it would probably take a few days to develop.

Blizzard officially lists 8 planets as Terran worlds (9 if you count Char, which in fact Zerg). But those are just planets where missions take place. I'm willing to bet that there are hundreds of planets in the Dominion, although it would probably be safe to say that maybe only a dozen or so are inhabited to a significant level, i.e. more than just a simple mining outpost.

And when you ask for a picture, you mean what exactly? Just what it says, a picture?
