Stranded - Casting Call and OOC
Stranded
First of all, note this. I want this (in other words, reqiure this) to be a more advanced roleplay. Proper grammar, third person are expected, and posts are expected to be a good size. No chatspeak will be allowed. At all. No three sentence responses. Also, this won't be just sex all the time. Have interesting and creative characters who can develop and have reasonable interactions with everyone over the course of this roleplay.
Good God no!
I made a typo in the title. Great. That just completely destroyed all my credibility on that. It was a mistake, please don't kill me for it.
Now on to the plot, which is a work in progress, which I'd like the members to help me out with.
The year is 2003, the scene is the Southwestern Pacific Ocean. A relatively small cruiser is travelling from Hawaii to New Zealand, making various stops along the way. But the ocean is an unforgiving mistress, and a violent storm appears out of virtually no where. The crew valiantly battles the tempest, but cannot seem to affect the ship's course or damage. Crewmen and passengers are tossed over in the rain and win, drowning in the night.
Meanwhile, the ship has been blown off course, and the winds fuel it straight towards one of the many uncharted maps of the Pacific. This small island has virtually never been seen by humans, as it is surrounded by rocky outcroppings and barrier reefs. The ship smashes into a rock, tearing the hull open, and it doggedly travels a hundred meters forward, scraping along the reef, until it grinds to a halt. The ship leans to the outer side, then slowly rolls into the deep, carrying almost all the passengers with it.
But not all. A guard on the ship, member of the U.S. Navy, manages to keep a clear head, and releases one of the lifeboats, saving a handful of people along with it.
None of them have met any of the other's before. They all come from different walks of life, with different skills and abilities. The ordeal that follows their survival of the shipwreck will be the most demanding of their lives. How will they fare?

That's the introduction. I am the Naval Officer. Anyone may apply, as long as they agree to the statement in the beginning of this thread. Hopefully a relatively even male-female ratio will be present.
Anyways, introduce your character, give me some feedback, whatever you want. Just glad to have some people join!
