This is something I have seen, in flirtatious measures, upon the boards, and bluntly, it irks the hell out of me. While I am all for a little playfulness once in a while, a small humor here and there, I am not open to the idea of stalking, even in the most harmless sense, on the boards of Literotica. I am not open to stalking of other posters, to being followed around, or to being responded to with a one-word post containing "*stalk*" in light gray lettering. Has anyone ever been stalked in life? It is a horrifying experience if it is unwanted. I may be open to elements of stalking in real life from someone I feel a mutual affection for, however I find that stalking on the boards is generally not mutual and is not only unwarranted, but unwanted by many posters. The point: be confident that the person you are "*stalking*" enjoys it. Do not attempt to "*stalk*" people you do not know well.

Pretty

much ranks right up there with starting a thread directed at someone in my book.

In your book. Have we had contact since? I feel no need to explain myself at this point. I have given you my apologies.

Don't drag me into another melodrama with Betticus again.

I've obviously missed something. I was not aware that you and Betticus were involved in a melodrama.

i'm not, and have no desire to be. Shall we do a search?

Yha know ---I wouldn't touch the personal part of the above with a ten foot pole...But as far as the stated purpose of the thread..Well, I found myself thinking, and not for the first time, that the random "Happy Stalking" DOES get annoying after a while...

I don't mind being stalked. The few times I've been told that I am being stalked, I've been flattered by it.

And I troll (or stalk) certain posters whose words I find entertaining and/or thought provoking and they know I do it. I think if someone didn't like me doing that, they would have told me by now.

but seriously... i do *stalk* alot of ppl on lit. it is my way of saying..."i read what you post and you make me think and i like what you said...but i dont have any particular comment on the subject at the moment" i had no idea it was offensive lol...i had better trim down my stalking list

i HAVE been stalked in real life. It is unpleasant and frightening to say the least.

That said, I find the 'stalking' that goes on on the Lit boards to be obviously light hearted and harmless - like a game of tag.

As long as the 'stalker' and 'stalkee' are happy I can't find it in my heart to complain.

Well, perhaps we could simply change the term we use? Turn it into a friendly game of tag, or throwing the wet sponge (*SPLOT*) or something equally trite.

I think we all run across little things that other people use as endearments or fun expressions that are offensive to us. I guess the best thing really is just to concentrate on what the intent of the expression is.
