Squirmy Question

Okay, I have yet another Squirmy Question. Wasn't gonna ask, but how does anything ever get answered without the asking part, eh?
So roll your eyes, shake your heads, and for all you Southern U.S. folks as myself say, "Bless her heart."
If you're not from the Southern U.S. I'll let you in on a secret, "Bless her/his heart" is what we say when we're too nice to say, "you stupid fucker"
Back to the point.

I submitted a new story Monday. No one has yet to view it. You know how as soon as you submit someone views it. Then it sits there for a week or so with 1 view 3 view 6 view blah blah blah.

I submitted my latest Room Girls last night and no views on it either.

Is this okay or am I doing something wrong? I mean if no one's had time to read them, cool. But Monday was a piece away for no one to click on it so I thought there might be something wrong. Is anyone else having this problem?

So there. There's my squirming question. Be kind, be friendly, and, I know, I know, " bless my heart. "

Bless your little heart.

Just kidding, I couldn't resist - I live in Alabama.

Monday does seem kind of long without anyone taking a peek at it at all. I have heard, tho that it's taking up to two weeks here recently for stories to post.

I don't know what to suggest, except if there are still no views next week, PM Laurel or Manu.

Wasn't much help, was I?

for Cloudy

Cloudy,
I'm from Mississippi! So you can bless me heart all you want, we're neighbors.
Thanks for the reply. I think maybe somethings glitching twitching itching or something. I don't know. Just odd.

Have a good one. Good to know a neighbor.

I submitted two stories on Monday and they now have the conventional three views each. The last one I posted took a week. It does seem to take longer than it should but, be patient.:rose:

You seem to misunderstand the position here. We writers offer a story to the people who own Literotica. When, and indeed IF, they post it is entirely their choice. With 25 or more stories a day, that's a lot of vetting to do, so if it takes a fortnight to post something, so what?
My first book took five months from submitting the text to getting the proofs to check, and another three months to reaching the customers.

Bless your little ol' pea pickin' heart!

Couldn't resist.

Hugs,

Kat

I do hope you are calling for the Tennessee Ernie Ford version, all others are crap.

:) I didn't know there was another version. I certainly don't want to hear it if there is.

confusion seems there is

I think there is some confussion on my thread.
From some of the things people have replied about my question, I think you guys have the wrong idea of what I'm asking.

I am not worried about WHEN my story will go on. I've been through that. My concern is that not ONCE since Monday has it been viewed. I submitted one on Wed night and it has 6 views already. I don't care if it takes a month to put the story up. I just think it's odd that it hasn't even been opened. Especially when my other one was submitted two days later and was looked at the standard times.
It's not a matter of patience. I think there might be something wrong with the actual submission of the story.

I hate there was confusion. However, I do think some comments were still rude and uncalled for. But what can I say? Oh wait, Bless Your Heart!

Thanks for everyone's help and the southern relations. Good to see ya'll.

Bless your little heart!

(Or as my mama says, "Bless its little heart." I'm never quite sure if that means she thinks her chillen are androgynous or what...)

Maybe resubmit it? I dunno, I've only ever submitted two stories, and they got a few reads right away. Sounds liike something screwy going on with the no-reads one.

:( I just checked on the two stories I submitted on Monday morning. Both of them have had three views which is normal. I submitted another on Tuesday evening, which was three days ago and it also has zero views. There could be something wrong here. It's unusual for a story to go three days without being viewed and even more unusual to go four days without a view.

I should add, Cheery, that when you check on a story it should say "Pending" in blue. I you click on that, you are considered to be resubmitting the story and it is put at the end of the line so far as consideration goes. If you just go to your Submissions Page and look at the description of activity, it does not start over.

Yes - what Box said!

Don't click on the "Pending" - just check out the submissions part.

Have faith, be patient (I know it is pretty damn hard) but things are taking longer now. It used to be about 5 days for stories (just one for poems). Now it is closer to two weeks for stories.

:)

Over here we either say "Bless your heart" or more commonly "Bless his/her little cotton socks" *chuckles* but the meaning is the same :)

I think if you're really worried PM Laurel...She's lovely and I'm sure she'll be able to tell you whats what. Just be patient...you might not get a reply right away :)

Otherwise just sit tight...I'm sure it's fine...but if it's still at zero and not submitted by the end of next week...well that might mean there is a problem *L*

HI! Monday was Memorial Day... maybe they took the day off? I don't know if that would put them a full day behind or not, or even if they do holidays. I submitted one then too and it got the usual 3 views, then nuthin'. They do seem to be taking longer than usual lately but they seem to have more stories to add too. Maybe a lot of the staff is on vacation...oh, and bless the rest of ya too, heart and all!

 This is Saturday AM now and the three stories I mentioned earlier are unchanged. The two that I submitted five days ago are unchanged and the one submitted four days ago still has no views. It's the last one that I wonder about because this is the first time that I know of that a story has no view after that length of time. Even so, I will wait before doing anything.

It might depend on the category. Laurel et al might do the categories depending on the mood they're in.

I know if I had the job, I would proabably say, "Hmmm I feel like reading some loving wives stories at the moment, I'll save the horror stories for later in the week" or "Oh, God, fifteen non-con stories all on the same day? Let's handle that this weekend over a fifth of scotch," or, "Oh! Dr M just posted something. Where's my vibrator?"

I'm with some of the others. If it hasn't been hit in a week, PM to Laurel.

New News

Okay. Last night, I resubmitted my story that had NO views.
Today it has three. So must have been something with the computer stuff, I don't know.

And yet again I say, I don't care how long it takes to get my story on for public views, I can be patient. The issue was that a story of mine had been on for 4 days without a single view while in pending.

I don't click on the blue pending box, I just look at the view sub page. If I was looking in pending it would show where I had viewed it.

So Box, I suggest resubmitting yours too. It worked for mine.

I liked the bless your cotton socks. I'll have to use that some time. And if I'm in England, I'll know when I'm being called a Wanker!

Bless your little pea pickin' hearts!

I think that was the Tennessee version.
I grew up in Ala, have passed through Miss, and miss the pretty trees and roads there in both places.

Glad you finally got it read. How was it submitted? Was it formatted in HTML, an attachment, txt?
The method can affect how and when they view it.

However, they probably took off for the beach for the holiday like everyone else here and just got back to work.

I resubmitted the story a few hours ago and it has now had its first view. Apparently, there was some kind of a glitch involving stories over a period of about 36 or so hours.

I guess things are back to normal now. The two stories I submitted on Monday have been posted and the one I submitted on Tuesday now has three views.:)

The last story I submitted, I seemed to hear very little about it, but suddenly got a raft of letters about some of my other stories.
