Unfortunately, I don't have a peep-hole, but I do peek in between the blinds to see this woman in her mid-20s that I've lived across the street for about 4 years. We've only said a few passing words, so there's mystery. People act a certain way when they think they are being watched, and I try to observe the times they aren't worried. I notice she looks at my car or window almost every time, which I'm sure is normal... I even think, "What if she's doing the same to me?" but there's never been anything to see that is worth telling, but it does create stories inside my head. I even wonder "Will we both be here in 5 years?".
Then again, if neighbors are outside talking, I want to hear what's going on. I once heard these neighbors arguing across the street, one accusing the other of having a meth lab.. Or observing and listening to spouses fight ("I've been sick and tired of you for 40 yea") - heard that once!
And with each piece of information, ideas come, and then the editing into a wider story. But I have a feeling if I find out too much about the woman across the street, the allure of mystery might go away. But every time I hear her car, I do look, even to see how she cleans her car (and then starts it up, which doesn't make too much sense).
