I have noticed a LOT of strife latelyamong our happy little Community. I have no solutions, but a few suggestions and would welcome any more CONSTRUCTIVE or Humourous additions:

1. February is OVER - Blah! will come to an end soon! Honest! Those of you in Southern or Western (Left Coast) climes are experiencing better weather already. Let's agree to a Gilly-Bean -like PM'ing campaign of "Happy Spring" or whatever... ;)

2. Yes, Oldies - there are a great many of us Newbies - Please don't feel that some of our more controversial fellows need to be disciplined. Most of you are delightfully (Groucho Marx eyebrow wiggles) welcoming. A minority of others perhaps need to take a laxative?

3. Why don't we let the acrimony be limited to Two new threads, which I have supplied, free-of-charge, as follow

Now that's some wild shit ..

... hey speaking of "shit" ...

did you happen to catch South Park this week? OMG ....

"Shit" is now the hip new in word ...

and it is now politically correct to use it ... but only as an adjective ... such as "it is a shitty day" ... or you can use it as a noun as in "that is some good shit" ... but you cannot say "i need to shit" ...

and they even had a "shit counter" ... i think they said the word "shit" 168 times or something like that ... in 1/2 hour ... awwwwwwwww shit!!!!!

goodbye to shitty February ....

ohhhhh Jimi cheri .... there's dope too????

The Meaning of Peace
=====================

There was once a king who offered a prize to the artist who
could paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried.
The king looked at all the pictures, but there were only two
that he really liked, and he had to choose between them.

One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror
for the peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was
a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture
thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.

The second picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged
and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell, and in
which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled
a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.

But when the king looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny
bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird
had built her nest.... a perfect picture of peace.

Which of the pictures won the prize?

The king chose the second picture.

Do you know why?

"Because," explained the king, "peace does not mean to be in a
place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work.
Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be
calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace."

That is the REAL meaning of peace.

Oh, Izzie...

Life is like a Beanstalk, Isn't It?

OOOOOOOOHMMMM!

Can you dig it?

Do you know what is, for me, a sure sign of Spring? Seed catalogues arriving in the mail. Sitting in a chair with the snow coming down and that cold North wind blowing and opening them up to beautiful pictures of flowers. It transports you to balmier days and the anticipation of overturning that first spadeful of dirt, opening that first packet of seeds, and getting your hands dirty.

All the different varieties and colours. The dwarf fruit trees and oh so many vegetables. It gets so you can hardly wait.

It's cold and sunny here in the Upper Valley, but those crocusses and other bulbs will be infusing the southern-facing slopes with colour soon enough. The maple in my front (North-facing) yard has huge buds on it - so we at least have some signs of the awakening to come... Oh YEAH!

Wow.
Y'all are tough.

I have to live in a place where winter is well-behaved and lasts, at the most, between December and mid-February. No snow. No days below 32 degrees farenheit. Rain mostly at night.

I have a huge vase of pink camellias besdie my monitor right now, camellias that are blooming in glorious profusion outside my door. It's time for that, time for the camellias and irises and daffodils and narcissus. The roses, deciduous trees, and vineyards are leafing out. It's into the 70's every day.

I can't live in a cold place, not happily. I tried it northeastern Washington for the last two and a piece years but complained and felt shocked the whole time.

You guys are a tough species.
:rose: <--- spring is coming!

Hug O' War

I will not play at tug o' war
I'd rather play at hug o' war
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses
And everyone grins
And everyone cuddle
And everyone wins

Shel Silverstein

Cym, those camelias sound beautiful... a portent of the coming season. :)

As to the "Inland Empire", I can sympathise. On a L-O-O-ONG business trip in february/March '96 to California, I stopped in Portland, and drove from there to a little town between Wenatchee and Ephrata.... a DECIDED temperature drop over the mountains! :(

Thank you for the compliment to Canadian Vigor... we try.;)

You have yet to see real strife...

As we get closer to the elections, the lying, name-calling, and acrimony will build and flow through all the threads.

One big bad game of beanbag...

Hey, but peace love and 1968 back at you bro.

Back atcha again, Flatlander!

It's too bad that politics in your Great Republic is so acrimonious... Here, it's just silly... :D

Actually, acrimony has been taken to it's most absurd conclusion, so it really has become just plain silly. All we do is elect them then destroy them. A system of great reward. Makes you wonder about the people who want the job.
