I have it.

It was the smell of freshly cut grass that was my undoing. Until then, I was holding it together, but now, I don't want to be indoors at all.

Tomorrow, I plan on gleefully hitting the woods to hunt morels.

I've been avoiding the outdoors. Once I get started out there, I won't want to come back and there is much work to do. Enjoy your hunt and I hope you find some beauties.

I haven't had those in ages, Fiddleheads either, but both were things my granddad used to take me out looking for. He used to tell me that he needed my eyes, cause only someone small like a pixie could spot them.

Charmed me into a lot of things that way, sweet old man.

Have fun! I am envious.

I don't know about this Spring crap. I went from being bored spitless to over committed in the blink of an eye.

I get first water this coming Wed. so I have to have the garden all ready to go. I might have that done by Tues. (Meaning planted as well.) At a minimum I have to have it tilled and rowed out. Which means I have to get the tiller out of storage and get it running. Oh, and empty my compost barrel and get it spread too. And get the water storage barrels ready to go. That was all supposed to be done yesterday but I had to teach a Basic Pistol course....one day more behind the eight ball. About the only thing I have gotten done is I got the Raspberries in and mulched.

The demand for my distillation product are piling up so I have to get some mash bubbling this weekend as well.

It looks like we are going to have a short Spring so I have to get the a/c serviced and running as well. And wash the outside windows before they blend in to the adobe colored stucco walls. Did I mention finishing raking up the leaves that fell after I raked up the leaves last fall, along with the leaves that blew in from the neighbors that didn't bother to rake their leaves at all?

Oh, and hound the guy down the block that wants my fruit tree pruning's to use to smoke his Bar-B-Ques this summer to come and get the damn wood before I cut it up and burn it in my chiminea.

Yes, I'll get a LOT of outdoor time this spring.

About the only good news is that the Cherry, Peach, and Pear trees are going to have a bumper crop this year. I might see 4 Apples from the Apple tree. It appears the Apple decided to take a sabbatical this year.

Your post reminded me of mushroom hunts with my aunt and uncle. They had no children and would patiently take us with them and allow us the excitement of finding the first ones. (after they slyly pointed us in the right direction) :)

I thought I had a lot on my plate! Someone once asked me the question, How do you eat an elephant? That seems an appropriate question here. ;)

I should get off my butt and do some yard work. But at the moment I'm in my porch soaking up the warmth from the sun and listening to the birds sing.

i've been riding my bike a lot more, so that's something. i'm going to do some bike riding later once it warms up just a wee bit more.

and i mean bicycle. i am not a douchebag. i have no need to annoy the shit out of my neighbors by revving my needlessly loud engine for fifteen fucking minutes before i even plan on going anywhere.

fucking inbred, harley riding pieces of shit.

I think I need a bike. I almost bought one last year, a pretty pale green colour which looked as if it would glow in the dark. I didn't, though, because if it didn't glow in the dark, it would be just a dumb green bicycle.

bikes are fun. my bike ride was nice and relaxing and my knees only hurt a little when i went up hill. that's cool and stuff.

also, i got books. yay books.

You're all talking about things warming up....
We just had our first 0 deg C night and I realised I will need a heater in this apartment, despite how warm it normally is!

It was a beautiful day! Perfect for being outside. The morel hunt was only so-so, but it's still early. The dogs are all pooped from all the running around. AND I scored 4 dozen fresh eggs from a friend whose hens are showing off their egg laying skills.

Good day...very good day.

I've been out riding my bike almost everyday for a few weeks now.

I can't wait for the lilacs to bloom. :)

The crap winter weather of yore has been transitioning bit by bit into the warm fuzziness of spring, but the lot of my off-work days to enjoy the outdoors have been plagued with clammy yucky wetness. Gonna attack the parks like a fiend when the sun shines.

Tomorrow, I plan on gleefully hitting the woods to hunt morels.

I didn't know you were a woman of...loose morels, Bidin. ;)

Morels sound good, I love them.

Spring cleaning has begun around here. Window washing, washing the curtains, and shampooing carpets. I'm working through the house a room at a time, I should be done in a few Saturdays.

See the iso-blurt for my day. Did get the garden in though. At least the cool weather veggies.

I don't want to begin to think about the windows or anything else tonight.

The one thing I don't want to think about is washing the walls, but I'll get my nerve worked up to that too.

I had hoped to get the taters planted, but the spring rains here have been heavy. According to the news, I may be looking for an alternate route to work as the Mountains are sliding in in a couple of places.
