"We rode into the Burney, New Mexico just after noon on the 15th of March, 2357. "

So starts my novel about what happens in the "New West" after a plague has caused mankind to generate 10 girls for every boy baby. After 250 years the survivors of the plague begain to contact each other.


I have 17 chapters on line and another 5 in the pending file. While I have gotten good scores very few people have commented on the story.

I have had real trouble getting editorial help so many of the chapters have typos and mis spellings I didn't catch during the self-editing process, but not so much that it really kills the story, I hope.

My later chapters are more rigerously edited and hopefully I have cleaned up almost all of the problems.

This is mostly consencual sex, and procreative as Josh and his cohorts are genetically clean, having been bred to produce more male offspring.

I hope you authors will give me some feed back on the story.

12-02-09 update: This is a tracking of the story Journal of sorts. "Spreading Seeds" is a year long look at the future. It promises to be over 100 Chapters, If I follow at the same time rate.

Spreading Seeds the story

I first started Spreading Seeds as "Goat Testical Soup" the feedback was mostly negitive on the title but Chapter One was rated 5.0 and had 700 views or so.
After Chapter 3, I changed the name to "Spreading Seeds" and reposted Chapters 1-3 on 10-7-08.
Chapter one has had over 12,000 views and is averaging 4.19 on 62 votes.

To date I have 23 chapters and all are running 4.04 -4.45 or better in scores. Most are running 4.3-4.5 and the readership (from the number of views) is about 2000 or so, although the chapters that have been up longer are approaching 3,000 "Views"

I just submitted Chapters 25 thru 28 today and expect that they will get about the same views and scores, once they are published.

After Chapter 28 I will have to make a decision whether to keep the story alive or move on to other things. I still have chapters on disk and only need to edit them for posting. Some of the most "erotic" chapters are still to come.

Does anyone care?

If you're writing to "get it out of your system" then keep on writing it.

If, however you're writing to present something to the reading public and if all the editing, grammar etc don't detract from the story then it's up to you to determine if the scores you receive are worthy of keeping it going.

Is 4.5 (or whatever) ok, good, excellent in your consideration? Is readership (views) increasing/decreasing? Same for votes.

Maybe the idea is good but the approach is/was all wrong. Lots of short chapters or fewer longer chapters? Condense some of the ideas, better characterisation, blah, blah, blah.

I haven't read your series and maybe I should if you want a critical appraisal. I'm just a bit stuck on time trying to crank out my own smuttage at the moment, but if you're serious about continuing, I'll have a look.

I would really like someone who is an Author to read and provide feedback. Not like an editor, but as a reader.

Thanks for the feed back. I appreciate your input and I know that S-S is never going to be a "Top Rated" story. For Lit it is too soft and for Si-Fi it is too light, but I think it is a fun premise and hope that it will do well after I finish out Josh's year in Burney.

It will get mor "plotty" as time goes on. I was just having too much fun fucking around with the girls at first. LOL

I had a little Oopsie when I put up the latest chapters.
I missed Chapt 25 and got 26-27- 28 rejected.

#25 is just up and I have to resubmit 26-28 so the story will be a little delayed.

Chapter 24 just came up today ( Friday 21st) and 25-28 should come up in a few days.

Working on my capabilities. This story was done w/o editors. So excuse me if it is a little rqaggedy. I am trying to improve and use editors for my latest stories.

I'm happy with the scores it is receiveing and hope my next series called "Sexual Therapy" will not only have more literary merit but get better scores as well.

After chapter ~18 it seems to have dropped off to a core of 1400-1500 views so I guess somepeople like it and are willing to put up with my errors to see just how Josh will handle the next challange.

If I can get Chapter 30 worked out I'll post a very sexy set of chapters about a party with lots of Sisters and a brief description of the initation of a new Sister.

Lauren plays an important role as does Vera from Chapter 23-24.

My NaNoWriMo is taking my time but as soon as I finish that I'll get #30 done and have about six more chapters soon. Maybe by Christmas.

I've been reading your work and reading "Spreading Seeds" From the first I think the story line is more important than the sex. Keep the line of the story true and all will work out.

I greatly enjoy the positive feedback and promise to try to self-edit more effectively. Eating from "bowls and not Bowels" is one of the critical comments I have recieved and appoligise for the error.
I blame it on MS Word's spell check but yes It slipped past me too, but not the eagle eyes of a couple of readers.

Instead of 20-28 votes, which seemed to be the average, Chpt. 27/28 have almost 100 and I appreciate the fact that they are all getting above 4's and a few chapters have achieved 4.5 or better to get the coveted "Red H's"

As November winds to a close I am still trying to write my NaNo and may not be putting up any more chapters for a couple of weeks. I have several chapters working though and hope to put out a few in December.

Jack, you ask if we preferred the shorter or the longer chapters. My own request would be for the shorter. There's a certain amount of excitement in each session -- this is more than a sex novel -- and if the chapter is too long the excitement drops off a bit. BUT, keep 'em coming! I love the series.

I'll take that as a guide. I was worried about the chapter length and I guess I got my answer.

After 24 hours up here #32 has 31 views and 30 votes! Wow, I guess my loyal fans do watch for new chapters. Score is 4.40 and I hope it will improve and get a red "H" in a day or so.

Chapt. 31 is at 4.56 so it is doing well after only 11 days.

I have #33 working and I guess I'll try to finish it up today.

Sorry to be so long with #35. Real Life is the reason.

#34 is up to 4.65 and still has a few readers to go. Only 1491 read's so far. I expect about 2500 so some fans are still not there yet.

#35 will be a long chapter It is over 12,000 words so far and the lighting hasn't hit yet. I hope it will be finished soon so don't give up on me.

I tried to put a message in the story as a post script pointing to this thread, but the Ed's must have cut it out.

I check this story for new chapters regularly. I don't really have any comments other than I'm still enjoying it. I'm more into storyline and character development than just descriptions of sex -- I often skip over those 'cause they're often too long and just detract from the story. IMHO, sex scenes should be like seasoning in a good meal -- they can add immensely to the meal, but you wouldn't want too much of it. You seem to have hit a pretty happy medium.
