The National Cathedral on its own is an awesome structure, but filled as it is now, the building is only a backdrop. The gathering of different beliefs is incredible.
I've lived near DC most of my life. Normally it is a divided town, different politics, religions, races, and genders not seeing eye to eye. Not today. Today this city has come together like never before and I understand it is the same in NYC. If that does not speak of our resolve and commitment, what does?
In these times, all of our leadership in one place makes me nervous. I understand the political necessity, but at the same time in light of what has happened, I also see somewhat of a lunacy in it.
