Like, uh, maybe that last part is due to a recessive gene.I have to brag on my daughter.
She took first place in her school in spelling (550 kids or so). She's off to the county spelling bee once again (last year she came in 8th place overall).
She's more pleased that she beat a few of her buddies rather than taking the title at school. (So competitive!!)
AND -
In health class today they took tests over sex ed. A lady from the YWCA has been teaching the naughty details for the past week.
Kids who scored well on the test were given free goodies (no, not condoms!) No, they got YWCA t-shirts and back packs and assorted age-appropriate things.
And, yeah, my daughter aced that test, too.
Ahem.
I don't quite have a comment for that.

I thought about that, but it just seemed too easy. Maybe the recessive gene came from his side of the family?
I have no trouble blaming it on my hubby.

Thanks, TE.
Oh - are you talking about the spelling skills or the sex?

Bumped, 'cause the county-wide spelling bee has finally ended.
Grins all around. Daughter didn't win it all but she doesn't care.
On stage with the last ten kids, she wound up in what they call third place (with a few others).
We're happy with her showing, thrilled she managed the challenge, pleased that she spelled words like: meticulous, mesa, lethargy, environment -
Who wants a drink to celebrate?
