Spelling, sex and 'rithmetic?

I have to brag on my daughter.

She took first place in her school in spelling (550 kids or so). She's off to the county spelling bee once again (last year she came in 8th place overall).

She's more pleased that she beat a few of her buddies rather than taking the title at school. (So competitive!!) :D

AND -

In health class today they took tests over sex ed. A lady from the YWCA has been teaching the naughty details for the past week.

Kids who scored well on the test were given free goodies (no, not condoms!) No, they got YWCA t-shirts and back packs and assorted age-appropriate things.

And, yeah, my daughter aced that test, too.

Ahem.

I don't quite have a comment for that.

Like, uh, maybe that last part is due to a recessive gene.

Congrats to the kiddo and best of luck in the county competition.

Rumple foreskin

Yay for the daughter!

(have to brag on my youngest - at the awards for the first semester, just this morning, much to my surprise he made all A honor roll :) )

Haha, congrats to your daughter for that ^_^
and good luck to her in the spelling bee!

Congratulations to Sarahh and Cloudy both! It's a delight to see such clever children and such proud and beaming parents.

So not only can she spell i-n-t-e-r-c-o-u-r-s-e, but she knows what it means. :D

Congrats to you and your brilliant offspring sarahh. And good fortune to her at the County competition.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. ;)

Thanks, TE.

Oh - are you talking about the spelling skills or the sex?

;)

Well one is readily apparent and one has yet to achieve full flowering--but at present one would have to say both. ;)

Her education will not be lacking in either subject methinks. :D

Indeed.

Makes me think . . . children of women who spend much of their time engrossed in literary pursuits . . . regardless of the nature of those pursuits, there seems to be a level of enlightenment that is transferred.

Literature and Literotica . . . .

Bumped, 'cause the county-wide spelling bee has finally ended.

Grins all around. Daughter didn't win it all but she doesn't care. :D

On stage with the last ten kids, she wound up in what they call third place (with a few others).

We're happy with her showing, thrilled she managed the challenge, pleased that she spelled words like: meticulous, mesa, lethargy, environment -

Who wants a drink to celebrate?

Lifts a glass. Salut:kiss:

smiling at every one, as the goblet of a fine vintage is lifted into the air for a congratulatory salutation.
