My two stores were again rejected with the same reason "Are you sure you spelled everything correctly"

The first words are all correct if I have the spelling set at English (Australia) but I change it to English (USA) they all come up as errors.

Can I please check on the spelling of Blonde or is it Blond?

Realisation or Realization/Realised or Realized

Manoeuvred or Maneuvered

Mesmerised or Mesmerized

Vigour or Vigor

Swivelled or Swiveled

Tantalising or Tantalizing

Fantasised or Fantasized

Harboured or Harbored

Pummelled or Pummeled

Favourite or Favorite

Travelled or Traveled

And is there such a word or phrase as absent mindedly? Or leant or is it leaned? is there such a term as matter of factly?

How did you submit the story? I'd change the spelling to US English and resubmit.

My partner in the tag team competition was an Aussie. I changed all of those words to US spelling, as well as changing expressions like car park and windscreen. The latter might have been more because the authors were supposed to be anonymous so others could guess who wrote what.

Right, I'm going to try and use the non-American spellings of all of those in my next submission and see if it goes through.

I've used Australian English several times with no problems on that account. You might consider including a note to the mod when you submit, to indicate that you're writing in AE.

"Blonde" if describing a woman, "blond" for a man (although "blonde" seems to be commonly used for men too, these days).

All of these: the first spelling is correct for Australian (or UK) English, the second for US.

Absent-mindedly, matter-of-factly. As far as I know, both "leaned" and "leant" are acceptable.

Same here, my partner was using English (UK)...had him switch over to English (US). Then had to change things like lift to elevator in order not to give away one of us was from Europe. He was actually from Germany, but used UK English spelling for everything.

All those words should go through (as long as you are consistent in spelling them). And "blond" and "blonde" are both good and could be different in the same story. Technically, "blond" is male and "blonde" is female. I differentiate them in my stories, so both spellings could occur in one story, and they go through.

If you PM me, I'll provide an address for you to e-mail attach a Word version to and I could look to see what the problem might be.

I seriously suggest that you need do only one thing.
A note explaining that the characters are not in the USA and do not necessarily speak 'merican, let alone write it.

"The characters in the following story speak in Australian English"

I think they normally would go in the first time. There's more than an even chance of this being yet another correcting of what wasn't seen by the editor as the actual problem.
