doesn't get every error. It is just a program written by some computer geek

It also doesnt knowplain and simple human language. I.E. I'm gonna go to the store.

Or street language "You be liking it!"

Before your write a story about writing stories, remember there is a beating heart behind these words.

I enjoy writing, I breath writing.

And please if you need a reminder of what a true writer is look at Mark Twain's written manuscripts. There are tons of mispelled words. And include Hank Williams in there too

A true writers brain and hand work in unison, by the time the first word written the true writers brain is on the 3rd, 4th or 5th word.

At a real book publishers company they have editors and proof readers and even they don't get every word correct.

So before you all harass me about mispelled words and lack of comma's remember what i have said.

Take time to understand it, just don't read it and go A*****e ok

Why not find someone to proofread or edit your story for you? If I'm remembering correctly, you've had offers. Hell, I'll look it over for you. I'm no English major, but I get by.

Lit is trying to approve loads of stories every day. They almost have to make snap decisions. An error jumping out at whoever is reviewing the submission for approval may get it rejected, while another story with far more errors might just have them in the right place to escape notice in the necessary rapid scan.

The most established authors with the biggest reader-bases on Lit have encountered the dreaded rejection signal, even for errors that weren't even errors. Some of these get re-submitted without a single change, other than a note to the moderators pointing out where the rejection was in error. It's not as if you're being singled out.

You got a rejection, that's all. If writing is truly your life, then you know that rejection is something you're going to deal with far more often than acceptance. You pull yourself up by the bootstraps, tweak that manuscript, and dive back in again.

Get your story proofread/edited, approved, and up there for readers. Then get started on the next one. That is obviously your goal, and you're only delaying it by continuing to vent your feelings of offense caused by a quick-draw over the top and off base response in previous threads. You could be writing your next story right now, after all :)

Hell and high water, mate, calm yourself.
If you can't handle being told to get a proofreader before putting your story out to the wolves, you're a fool.
You misspell stuff and the readers will crucify you. Hell, they crucify you if you use non US spelling (and I do, I'm Australian).
If there's enough errors in your stuff that it's getting rejected, I'd be finding a beta reader and stop bitching. *shrug* but that's just me.

Bivelee it or not, rcesrhaeers at Cmabrigde (Eglnnad) hvae dirvoseced taht the oredr of ltteers in a wrod deson't rlaley matter. A parting shot

I think I have gotten my point across to those of you in literotica.

As I stated I ran my stories though spell checks and reread and corrected and still got rejected.

I asked over and over for someone to respond to my question "Why are you rejecting it?"

It's called common courtesy.

I will have you know that some of my writings have been published in "The Hartford Courant" a local newspaper which has been in business while the USA was still Great Britains colonies. The Editor that called me that calls me says that my pieces are "Well Written!"

Sorry if I was a little off the beam on this, I should know that when you argue with a moron(s) you can niver win.

Ok I am done ranting.

Hope you all have a good life.

I love this. I loved it when I first saw the study, years ago. Thanks for sharing! :rose:

You have misspellings and improper usages in this rant. Your rant on the general board had several, and had several instances of illegal grammar. Your rant on the editor's forum - was barely readable.

You were rejected and got mad - how very original.

Having a letter to the editor or an opinion piece published in a newspaper does not make you 'published'. You would not qualify to be published in my local garden club newsletter - judging from the mistakes I have seen in your rants on this message board.

Several people have offered to proofread your writing - and you rejected all help - certain of your perfection. No real writer refuses the help of an editor.

So what? You've had some stuff printed in the local paper - Guess what? It would've been edited. How do I know? Because it used to be my job to turn contributors' deathless prose into readable English.

I'm getting soft in my old age I guess :p I tried to help, so now I feel qualified to say - good riddance to bad rubbish.

I was going to make a point, but then I realized you had already done it for us.

Well said.

LOL

However, I fail to see how the age of a newspaper proves the quality of one's writing...
