I have watched the Personals develop from a forum where people talked genuinely with one another. Maybe not everybody, but a sizable portion of personal advertisers seemed to search for this, say 5 years and longer ago. To what it has become now: a forum populated by facebook users only, so it seems. And as this article in the Atlantic pointed out, FB has destroyed the culture of conversations almost completely since 2009. So what am I doing here? Looking for the one and only woman left, who still longs for genuine conversations. With a fellow who no longer fits into modern-day life. The only way you are going to like me: if you think and tick like an old-fashioned human being; one who also has been “overtaken” by history since 2009.
