"Special Snowflakes"

So far just a title, a very rough concept & no time to write it or much else it seems these days:

"Special snowflakes" is the term we use to describe the 20somethings with their extra need to be special, to be treated special, to be told they are special...because that's all they have heard all of their life. "Snowflake" because each snowflake is unique.

so my rough idea is the collision of that attitude with reality either caused by sex or leading to sex.

Might be school setting or at first "real" job.

Not sure if the snowflake tries to use sex to get ahead, or if the sex is a reward or punishment for her.

I think part of my confusion is that I'm not big on non-consent & the non-consent angle seems the most obvious...

So a snowflake is.....needy? Constant reassurance type of thing...

I, like you, am not into non con angles so what I could see is a mature story, an older man looking for a younger partner and has no issue doting on, or spoiling that partner so maybe he happens to be at a coffee shop during her first day of work and the boss is yelling at her and riding her hard(not in the porn sense) and she's upset.

So the guy is trying to make her feel better with some line "I hate to see such a pretty girl so sad, bet you have a great smile" and she likes that and starts fishing for compliments and he is happy to give them...

Reminds me of a favorite saying:

"You are unique! Just like everybody else."

I don't know if that helps with the story idea or not, but I've always liked it.

The urban dictionary defines the term thus:

"A member of that newly-adult, me'er-than-me generation which expects attention and praise just for being themselves -- doing anything to deserve it is completely optional. "

to me, the combination of a sense of entitlement with the need for validation truly is special...

Don't think it would be non-consent, more like the snowflake realizes the need to do more and more to get the "hit" of praise and thus wander down a path less traveled. Reluctance, sure, but the goal of the snowflake is to get praise, and the price of praise is _____, and the trade seems reasonable to the snowflake.

Snowflake thinks: "Suzy is such a slut, walking around with that blouse that you can almost see through. But Suzy gets praised for wearing it. Maybe I should wear a blouse like that?" etc ect

but the essence of being a snowflake is expecting the praise without paying the price...so someone must teach her that essential lesson first!
