Umm, I guess I'm not really sure what the intracacies are of an online D/s relationship, but please accept my congratulations as well. :)

I have no clue what that means. Could you explain it a bit for those of us who don't know what you're talking about? What exactly does that change in your relationship online?

It seems congraTulations are in order. I think.

I had no idea you and lovetoread were BDSM-ers, Tiger, but congratulations. From what I understand, that collaring thing is HUGE.

You weren't just trying to be funny, were you? I mean, using the word "collared" as some kind of a cat joke instead of meaning a serious committed dominant-submissive relationship? I really never saw anything in your posts that sounded like you went for BDSM.

Dog coller?

Rumor has it that she's a he.

Have you ever spoken with her?

Just wonder if her deep voice is explainable!

Don't fall in love cuz you'll get burned for certain!

Collaring Ceremony

Just attended a rather beautiful collaring ceremony which took place between two "tubsters" tonight. I was unfamiliar with the term and the insinuation, but it was done very well and I know it is a big commitment.

I wish you both all the best!

haha, bet this collaring lasts as long as my first girlfriends hymen.......lol

Lovetoread really needs a collar. A cage probably would not hurt either!

To lovetoread and Tiger_n_NJ,
My best wishes on your collaring ceremony. I offer love and appreciation as you accept one another on this basis. Let no one deter you from your happiness. Go forth with love and enjoy. *Blessings upon you*

lovetoread is a VERY nice person, all the posts I have ever read that she has written have been kind and tender.

Tiger_n_NJ, I know very little about but wish you both well.

*hug* Taking a sip of wine and wishing you both happiness :)

I'm with Cheyenne.

Would someone please explain what this means????

Tiger_n_NJ and lovetoread, please correct me if I am wrong in your case,
collaring GENERALLY means
"A Master's Voice"

1) What is a collar for?
Wearing of a collar doesn't necessarily mean that a formal collaring has taken place, it's often an accessory for BDSM activity even between casual play partners.
Collars are restraining devices, usually made of leather, sometimes metal or chain. Usually equiped with steel rings to permit the binding of the submissive by a Dom/me, Master or Mistress.
During play most submissives wear collars.
Formal Collars are often used to mark a submissive as owned, tattoo's and branding can also be used to indicate that a submissive is the property of just one Master or Mistress, but these are permanent markings and in general represent a commitment not necessarily intended by either Dom/me or submissive.

2)What does "Formal Collaring" mean?
Formal Collaring is when a Dom/me (or Master/Mistress) and a sub (or slave) make a formal commitment to each other. Many people hold public or private collaring ceremonies to commemorate their agreement, and usually a literal collar is placed around the sub's neck as a symbol of the event. A collaring might be thought of as the D/s version of a wedding, and most people consider collared relationships as seriously (or more so) than marriage, and many collared couples are also married to each other. Again, individual situations can vary regarding the significance: collaring may or may not involve commitments of fidelity, for instance. A collar can range from being a symbol to something worn during specific times to something worn 24 hours a day.
Tiger_n_NJ says it best quote" That here on Lit Lovetoread is mine. In the last few days it has changed to mean much more then the original intent. Much much more. It means also here on Lit I am hers. It is not rl, though I wish the circumstances were different. Maybe one day they will be. In that case I would be honored to have her as my Mate(Tigress), Collaree (sub) and whatever else she will be for me.

I know that collaring is a way of life. Please I do not take this lightly. If you feel that I do feel free to email me. But I/we are not talking a way of life. Yet, if it were rl in a way we are. I can only tell you she is submissive in the most important ways to me. Very submissive and yet she is a "Tigress". Being collared and being a Tigress may be too different extremes but with her it blends beautifully! "

I honour you both in this ceremony.
Blessings to you both :)

I don't mean to be rude, but didn't that use to be called "going steady?"

Congrats!

I hope everything is as you both would have it. I can't help but wonder though, if you know the magnitude of the step you have taken? In the D/s community "collaring" is the same as a marriage, it is total commitment and loyalty.

But, you have already stated that the collaring only pertain's to the Lit boards. So I take it this is a step of curiosity, rather than sincerity?

Whichever, I wish you both the best of luck! Have fun, learn, and most of all, grow together! *hugz*

Sk~

Congratulations love and tiger. Hope this means a lot more literary critism from both of you.
