Having read a few stories, I've found some take twists or turns I don't feel are needed or to my liking. Not wanting to discourage the writer by my own sense of values I try to comment on the writing itself or some other positive aspect if I comment at all.

Do any of you have the same situations happen?

There's nothing wrong with telling an author that you didn't like the way something happened, so long as you make it plain that it's your opinion, and you're not preaching for the public at large. Sprinkled with the positive elements as well, odds are that most won't even take offense to the criticism.

I've sent numerous feedbacks on stories where I didn't really like how things turned out, or how a scene went, but the story was otherwise well-written and engaging.

Just say what you think :D I do tend to put any such criticism in a private feedback, however. Only the tiniest of critiques ever go into a PC when I leave them, usually at the end of a long series of praise.
