"Ball" is one of the first words of both of my sons. Out of curiosity, I am just wondering what the word 'ball' is in other languages and if it is so easy and pleasing to say all around the world!

What languages can you litizens translate this little word into for me?

Portuguese: Bola
Spanish: Pelota/Balon/Bola
French: Boule/Pelote/Bille
Italian: Palla/Pallone
Finnish: Pallo
Arabic: Taba
German: Ball

Hi Lauren.

Danish: ballet, bold, bolden, kugle, bal, blive forvirret

I said 20 lashes! Now it's 50 for not paying attention.

Cool!!! Still waiting for what the punishment will be, though. :p

(I'll STFU now and hand the thread back to its original intent).

Lou

P.S. Bunny, ball ball! :cathappy:

I'll ensure those 50 lashes are applied correctly if I may???

Mind if I spank her instead????

  :p

Slovene: Žoga (pronounced zhoga - the 'zh' sound is like 'j' in 'jean' if you're French)

You could also say 'bala' and people would understand

Since some of the more important languages have been omitted:

Icelandic - Hnöttur (m)
Latvian - Balle
Norwegian - Ball (c)
Welsh - Pêl (f)
