Rouge had his hands clung firmly onto his upper arms as he rubbed up and down - trying to warm his chilled body on this freezing night; he could even see the mist of his breath hanging in the air before him before it dispursed. It had all gone wrong for him over the last year - his ex wife had completely stripped him of all his money and possessions - not that he'd had many but he kept himself ticking over. And after that he'd secured a tiny rented apartment and managed the upkeep for some time, but the tax, and legal fees he'd worked up during the court battles with his wife had slowly taken their toll and he'd ended up in this sorry state, just another homeless guy in tattered clothes sitting on the floor next to a bench in the middle of the city park.

Bringing his unclothed hands to his lips he breathed into them, sighing with relief for a moment as he felt the hot air wash over his goosebump covered skin - but it was shortlived as the cold temperature quickly snapped at his body once more. Pulling his jacket around himself he rested the reverse of his head against the iron bars of the gate behind him with a sigh. "How did it end up like this.." he shook his head after he'd spoken, looking around to see a female - who looked like someone who'd done well for herself, as well as being quite attractive - came strolling down the path towards where he huddled.

He hadn't been homeless for very long, not until his landlord had had bailiffs physically force him into the streets, so he hadn't resorted to begging yet and his clothes weren't in a terrible condition : but by the small box of his possessions which lay by his side and the blanket wrapped around his shoulers - you would know this man had no home. He sighed a third time as he realised he would have to do it and as she strode by he coughed and spoke aloud..

"Could you spare some change?" he paused for a moment, before remembering to be polite, "Please, madam."

Anna had stopped dead hearing a man, the sound of someone who had been hurt beyond words. But she heard of a bad case about an ex wife taking everything, what wasn't known was Anna was what he needed. She was twenty three and very successful, she is also the youngest doctor in the city. She had known a man that by the name of Rouge, a strange name but thats what everyone called him has, he taught her everything and she loved him for it. She was finally back to the city and willing to do anything for her friends. She saw a man freezing.

"I have none on me but....why don't you let me take you some place warm? since it is christmas eve after all" Anna's deep brown eyes looked into the strangers, she didn't know it was him, he seemed so cold and didn't want to see someone die. She brushed her brown hair off her shoulder and smiled softly, would they recognize each other?

Rouge's eyes lifted to fix upon the woman's face and his expressions tightened for a moment as he swore he recognised her, but he couldn't quite placed his finger upon where or how he knew her from. He lowered his head a little as she spoke, smiling to himself at her more than kind offer; this kindness was completely unexpected and it overwhelmed him slightly - a place to stay, out of the cold.

Finally his gaze rose again to meet hers and he gave her a wide smile. "You're most kind m'am.." He said politely, rising up off the ground to stay - showing that he was a little taller than her. "May I ask your name?" He questioned softly, putting his hand out to shake hers. "My name's Rouge. Rouge Fatale."

She smiled but when she heard his name her eyes went wide and knew "My God' She said softly as she placed her hand on his. "We know each other" She said softly. "Anna Conner ring a bell?" She said with a kindness that was soft and smooth. She was happy she finally found her friend who she hadn't been able to find for a very long time.

"Its been seven years since ive seen you"

Rouge saw her reaction when he spoke his name, her eyes widened a little and her mouth seemed to hang slightly agape in shock.

"Its been seven years since ive seen you"

Anna Conner? he thought to himself, thinking back - that was a long time ago, before he'd met the bitch who did all this to him actually.
But yes he remembered the woman; and that would be obviously by the smile which was gradually spreading over his face - and before she knew what was happenening Rouge had wrapped his arms around her and was hugging her like the old friend she was. "Anna, it is you!"

She held him close to her, she was so happy he was ok "Im going to get you back on your feet" She looked into his eyes "Come on lets get you inside my place." Kissing his forehead she took him to a nice apartment, it had five bedrooms and two bathrooms, she looked at him.

Rouge could only lower his eyes when she looked at him and said she'd take him to her apartment and get him back on his feet. His smile widened, but he hid it by looking down - he didn't deserve this kind of generosity. Least of all from her; she hadn't seen him for years and years.

Once they'd travelled to the apartment Rouge just looked around a little, taking the whole place in - it looked very posh, perhaps even moreso than the place he'd lived in when he wasn't homeless. He nodded at her gratefully when she looked at him. "Thankyou.. so much."

She smiled some and sighed a little bit, looking into his eyes she couldn't help but smile she showed him his room which was a nice big bed, a bathroom right in the room as well, she brushed her hand through her hair. "That bitch of a wife never deserved you" She said simply "We will spite her, you will become much more successful, all you need is a little faith" She smiled.

"Wow.." Rouge simply stated as he saw the room she was going to house him in. "Really you're too generous, if this is too much I'll happily sleep on the sofa and be out of your hair first thing tomorrow morning?" In all honesty he didn't want to leave that suddenly but he'd always known what was rude and what wasn't and he didn't want to overstay his welcome.

His gaze followed her hand as it pushed aside her long longs and he laughed a little as she spoke. "Will I know?" his smile was wide and warm, "Well we'll just have to see.. won't we." His eyes were now fixed on hers, unblinking.

She shook her head "I have no roomates and my parents are dead, I have no need for a guest room so you are free to stay here as long as you want, id rather have you stay here then anyone else" She brushed her hand down the side of his face. "Im just sorry I wasn't here at the end of the struggle, im sorry you had to live on the streets" Tears fell down her face as she held him close.

Rouge was about to say 'I'm sorry" when he heard about her parents but she distracted him when her cool smooth palm ran gently over his face, his eyes half closing with a smile - no-one had touched him that delicately in quite some time now.

As his eyes opened properly again he saw, to his shock, that she had tears running down her face and she stepped forward - between his arms - to wrap her own around his waist. He stood there, unsure of what to do for a moment before finally his arms too wrapped around her lithe form; holding her against him gently. "It's okay.." he reassured, "It's not your fault, far from it"

She couldn't help but just hate herself "I should have stayed in better contact with you, Its not fair this happened to you, thats why we will do what was stopping you back, but come now, you need a warm shower, warm meal and a good nights rest in a warm bed"

Rouge squeezed her gently after she'd spoken, releasing her to take a single step back, shaking his head. "As I said, it wasn't your fault - it was completely my own." He sighed sadly, looking at her. "But yeah.. that warm shower sounds perfect." He hadn't had a shower in over a week now and he was sure he looked a complete state, he felt so sodden and unclean that it disgusted himself and he didn't enjoy being in company whilst he felt like this. "If you could point out the bathroom to me I'll go run myself a shower?" he asked quietly.

She smiled "I have some cloths that will fit so you can change, after a warm meal tomorrow we can go shopping and yes I insist on getting you some clothing" She kissed the side of his face as she pointed to the bathroom. "Take your time and warm dinner will be on the table" After she showed him the bathroom she began to make some dinner, a pasta dish that she knew he liked, with fresh bread. The place was alive as she hummed to herself.

Rouge took her hands and nodded in thanks as she directed him to the bathroom, and the place upon his cheek where she had kissed seemed to tingle gently as he thought upon her lips. Shaking his head he proceeded into the bathroom - that was no way to think about someone who'd taken him into their home and was treating him with such kindness, whatever their history. He pushed the door, forgetting to lock it; leaving it slightly ajar. Taking off his shirt he tossed it aside, looking down at his body - at leasat his stint at being homeless hadn't absolutely killed his body structure, he thought - running a hand over his still hard stomach with a smile. He took the dial for the shower and turned it once; resulting in a pleasantly warm stream of water coming from the shower head, which he soon stepped into when he'd undone his jeans and slid away his boxers - leaving him naked, welcomingly hot water now cascading down his body.

While she was cooking she got some fresh clothing, fresh shirt, boxers, pants and socks she shuck in seeing his naked body and smiled, she snuck back out leaving the fresh clothing there. The dinner had just finished and she had heard the shower end, everything was there ready. Fresh bread, some salad, pasta with chicken and some red wine. She could smell the room which was a nice lavender and grinned waiting for him.

Rouge enjoyed the warm water as he finally got a chance to wash his body after his time in the park, and he took a great deal of time over it - washing his hair twice to get the dirt out of it that'd come from sleeping on the grass; not a pleasant experience to say the least.

Stepping out of the shower he yawned a little - the temperature atmosphere was making him tired, but he shook it off quickly - looking a little suprised when he saw that there was some fresh clothes lying on the ground. He didn't question it, just smirked when he realised that she must've snuck on on him showering when he wasn't looking; and he wondered just how much of him she'd managed to glimpse. Putting this aside he towelled himself off quickly - leaving his hair a little damp to dry naturally as he slid the clothes on, smoothing them down with his palms before he walked out.

He was about to say thankyou for the clothes as he opened the door properly and walked into the dining room, but his words were caught in his throat when his gaze came to rest on the meal she'd apparently prepared whilst he was cleaning himself up - it was so well laid out, two dinner places for him and her - and there was a hint of.. lavender in the air, which he smiled at. His smile only widened as he shook his head in disbelief. "You do too much for me.." he said quietly, barely audible as he strode to take his seat at the table. "Thankyou.. I keep saying that but I can't think of what else I can say to all your kindness. Just.. thankyou so much. If there's anyway I can repay you you just have to ask."

She heard him getting ready, she couldn't help but be excited to be having someone, she looked at him and smiled "don't worry about it, id like you to be my roommate, then when you get back up on your feet you can help with expenses which is taken care of but just so you can do something, I don't want anything but sometimes you have pride issues" She grinned kissing the side of his face and sat down looking at him kindly. "Dig in" She grinned, she had a feeling that he hadn't eaten in over a week, she placed her hand on his.

"You would do the same for me, thats why im helping you now, no one deserves to be homeless"

Rouge grinned back at her as she said she'd consider him a roommate, and then followed her words up with a light peck on the cheek. He nodded; "Well as soon as this bum has found himself a steady job I'll be pitching in weekly with the rent, upkeep, all that stuff." He assured he, he wasn't about to be a free-loader - that would be worse than living on the streets.

"No.." he paused for a moment, in deep thought, "No-one deserves to be homeless. It's horrible." His lips curled in displeasure at his memories of sleeping on the cold hard floor - with the wind whipping at his face; which caused him to shiver lightly at the table before he shook his head and smiled. "But I'm not anymore, so why be all sentimental?" he asked rhetorically, picking up a knife and fork to begin digging into the meal she'd made, as she'd suggested.

"So what've you been upto all these years?" he asked as he finished chewing a little bit of bread he'd torn off.

She smiled watching him "Its understandable why you would be sad about it" She blushed when he gave her a peck on the cheek, she grinned and watched him eat, she was happy he seemed to like her cooking. "Well im a doctor, im twenty and a doctor" She grinned "Im the youngest in the city, I always hated to be the really smart kid, was always picked on, but im glad to have the ability to be able to work, right now im not full time, since they don't need me but ive signed a contract to be full time in six months, so im home a lot, which now that I have you here im grateful for"

"A doctor?" he paused, thinking of what to say next - unfortunately all his mind could think of was, "Wow.." he grinned at her, placing his knife and fork down for a moment so they could talk without the unfortunately necessary interuption of chewing his food. "How about your home life?" he looked around the house for a moment, "You've got a pretty nice place for yourself here, any lucky guy I should be expecting to appear around the place?" he asked.

She smiled "No, I have no boyfriend im still single" She sat back sipping on a glass of wine. "To be honest, ive always had a thing for you, but never found it right to tell you because you were married, but now I can say it without worry" She looked down. "Ive just never been in love with anyone else...but you" She sighed. "Foolish perhaps"

Rouge forgot the meal infront of him completely when she said that. "She loves me!?" he thought to himself, eyes opening a little wider in shock. "You.." he stuttered a little, unable to get his words out. True, he'd always found her a beautiful woman and more than once he'd let his mind wonder, even when he'd been married. He was silent for afew uncomfortable moments before he leaned over to place his hand atop hers, trying to regain her eye contact. "I'd.. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about you a number of times." He admitted truthfully, biting his lip a little - an anxious habit he had developed a number of years ago.
