How do I stop the continuous SPAM SCAM MESSAGES??!! I'm getting 100's a day and I've done everything I know to stop them and I don't know how they got started since Nov. Last month, I had over 4500 SPAMS>:mad::mad:

What email provider do you use?

I've found some (like gmail) are definitely better than others (hotmail, yahoo, etc.). With gmail, I very rarely get a spam message in my inbox; all of it's filtered into the spam folder and automatically deleted every 30 days, so I never have to deal with it.

If you've put your email address out on the web anywhere, that may be one of the reasons you're getting so much spam. In that case, you may have to see if you can apply a strict filter (some providers and programs have this feature, whereas others don't) or change your email.

Another common culprit is companies and mailing lists. The way I've dealt with this is setting up an email address specifically for mailing lists and potentially "unsafe" contacts. I have a personal address that I give to friends and safe sources (like Lit) and then a separate address that I use for companies and lists that I'm not positive about so I can jettison it if it ever gets overwhelmed with spam. The accounts are linked so the list email shows up in my personal inbox, but I can always unlink them and just check the list email periodically. I have more addresses that I use for different purposes as well (all linked to my personal inbox, at the moment), and so far this system has worked very well for guarding against spam (or at least not having to switch email if I ever do get too much spam). All of these accounts are through gmail.
