Spain Legalizes Same-Sex Marriages

Canada did the same thing. wonder if we'll ever be as smart as other countries...prolly not but hell, it was a thought.

I was amazed to find out that it's not legal in England. I thought it was. Does anyone know of any pressure groups that I can help to get it legalised in England?

I wouldn't hold my breath. We're rapidly sliding the other way.

Hate and intolerance are the new American values apparently. "Land of the Free", as long as you're a white christian. :(

White, Christian, heterosexual. Actually, just Christian and heterosexual is probably enough now.

Two strikes against me.

You're quite correct, I don't type as fast as I think.

Hmm...I wonder if being raised Roman Catholic but now mostly agnostic works or if I'll have to be considered "passing" on that point? <g>

You don't think this is a little intollerant and hateful? You're completely ripping me and what I believe. Blanket statements like this against Chrisitains are the same as the blanket statements you're striking out against for same sex couples.

Intollerance works both ways. Hate comes from many people and in many forms. If anyone hates anyone for any reason it's wrong.

Bear in mind that I have nothing against you, just this statement.

Being a white male Chrisitian I now feel complete outcast here, which is sad.

I am a white male christian as well.

It's not a shot at christians. It's a shot at all the christians in this country that want to enfore their values on everyone else. There is nothing wrong with being christian and having faith in your beliefs.

Ther is something wrong with expecting everyone else to have the same beliefs as you and making laws to enforce those beliefs.

Rikaaim: I don't think that people are slamming Christians. They're not saying that Christians are the people who perpetrate the hatred, only that they are currently the group that appears most exempt from it. I don't think it was meant as a criticism.

I'm sorry you feel that way, Rika, but I don't think that any of us were saying that we are intolerant of white male straight christians. Just tired of others being seen as less than, or just plain fucking evil and wrong, because they're not. Personally, it's hard going through life constantly hearing rhetoric that people like you (meaning me) are what's wrong with the world today.

Which is exactly why I had an issue with that statement. It appeared to me to be a blanket statement that didn't clearly state the intent of the idea.

I know you guys. I know that none of you wish to further the ignorance of hate and judgement. I know all of your points. I agree with them. I say a person must be viewed by what he or she does.

I also agree that right now it would seem that the majority decision power is forcing certain slants into the mainstream. Do I think that's right? No. Of course not.

I do appreciate the clarification. I must be off to work now, but I would love to stay and discuss this matter further, sadly I can not.

I'm already 10 minutes late. *Ugh*

I do not look down on anyone here. I admire everyone for who they are and what unique qualities each and everyone of us has.

I just couldn't stand even the thought of God being attacked. God has done entirely too much for me to sit by...and I'm leaving it at that.

I hope everyone has a great day. :rose:

Much peace and love to you all.

Well speak up! These people aren't Christian! Oppose them on religious grounds. The idea that hate is fundamentally Christian is twisted.
