The bar is dark lite only a single flickering light far in the back booth well out of sight from the street. Its way beyond closing time when the security team shook the front door to make sure it was closed tight. They shined a light around inside quickly and moved on to the next building. The owner was asleep in his office. He had been counting receits when he had dropped off to a quiet snooze. A bug flew by and landed on a pile of credits. It walked around the credits and then hopped down to the desktop and started to meander around just looking at what was on top of the desk.
Molta saw the movement and grew more interested by the second. She followed it with her eyes. Crawl to the right then turned back turned to the left then the right. This was to much for Molta she sprang down from her bookcase perch on to the desktop. And with a shape claw tried to ripp into the flying bug. The bug had ahard outside shell that Molta could not tear through. The commotion woke the owner. He saw the bug reached over and grabbed a large wooden mallet with a metal facing. He brought it down on the bug and it shattered into several parts.
"MOLTA...great job!" the owner bellowed as he stroked his pet. Molta arched her back enjoying the attention from her keeper. Lookes around the room and then finally on the curtain seperating the bar front room and the back office. Normally the owner would have not have hesitated to pull out his blaster and kill the intruder. Both he and Molta knew someone was just out side the curtain, this time he also knew who it was.
"Come in Halo." he grunted. A tall thin blue woman slipped into the office. She is wearing an orange jumpsuit and way out of place.
"Did Molta kill another goverment spy, Max? Halo askes in her musicaly toned vioice. The owner, Maxamillion Harper looked at Halo with a disapproving eye.
"When are you going to dance for me again, Halo?" He leans b ack in his chair and looks Halo up and down
"Two thousand credits a night, Halo I've got some big spenders in my club."
Halo frowned at Max" Max you own a bar not a club, besides I use to get 10 to 12 thousand credits when I use to dance, I belong to Rex anyway."
Max looks at her and nodds "Yeah I know, what a waste a body like that and a navagator what a sad tale." Max grumbles.
"He gave me a job when no one else would" Her blue hue starting to brighten. This was a warning Max knew all to well. Neons react quickly to passion anger beeing one of them. "And where is this girl with information about the Gate keeper?"
Max looks around the office to a time piece he has on the wall.
"Any time now, she'll be coming in the back door." Max says hopefully.

scene 2:Cadallac Casino-Hex Room

Rex layes his hex cards face down to the ever changing table top. He was working a six hex green straight. He waited for Roger D'loper to make his play. Rex watched as Roger shuffled his hand.
"Play Blue Roger, Tropie has the weakest hand put him out!" Rex remarks.
Victor Von Tropie glares at Rex. "Rex you been blockin ma red all night, give it a rest!"
Rex leans back in his chair and sees one of the waitresses he knows coming his way. He waves to her and she comes over.
"What can I get yeah, Rex?" Rubla askes.
Rex looks at Tropie before answering. "Rubla sweety bring me a tall dirty water on the stones!"
Rubla blushed" Rex your a bad boy, you know that." She tries to smile, I'll bring you your usual, a dead baby."
Rex smiles"Now your talking woman, bring me a dead baby!" Rubla shakes her head as she walks away.
Lester Moss who was sitting next Rex whisper to him. "You better watch it Rex they don't like that kinda talk in here." Rex watches as Roger playes a yellow 5 hex. That didn't hurt him none he still had two more open sides to play. Victor follows suit and lays a 4 yellow, keeping him in the game. Rex checks his cards cards he has a yellow hex card, but that is not the suit he wanted to play. He needed green.
Tony Lapperson playes a blue 4, changing the color. Lester follows suit and lays a blue 7. Not a winning play but he stays in the game. Rex checks his hand and there it is a green 7. He layes the 7 down. "Seven of eight" he calls out!"One more ta win." Just then Rubla shows up with his drink.
"Thank you Rubla on my tab please." He says. Rubla smiles and walks away adding his drink to her count.
Rex had two cards left a green to win and a standing yellow card. Only a standing bridge cold stop him, where the players locked up to an allready running leg of hexes. While possible there would have to be three players working together to make that happen. Roger followed suit and layed a green 1. No harm done there. That make six for Roger. Victor lays red1 and calles out "7 of 8, one ta win!"
Tony was the last player that could block him with a bridge. Tony look at Rex then Victor. He knew he couldn't win, he was just trying to decide who to block. Tony had two cards. Rex figured one was red the other green. Rex picks up his drink and take a long pull. And places it down on the table now colored red. Tony shuffles his cards and pulls one off the bottom. A yellow 1. No bridge! And changes the color again. The table top is yellow now. Lester looks at his cards. He had two cards left. He layed them on the table."No play."
Rex looks at the dealer"No shoot I'll play these." Everone at the table held their breathe to see what Rex would do.
Rex smiles and flips the green 6 next to his green 7. "Thats eight gentleman!"
Lester drops his cards on the table. "You drew eight greens in less then one shoot?"
"Yes I did, Lester." Rex replies.
Victor Von Tropie snears at Rex. " Your a pale dog, Rex Lionheart I hope you die in deep space!" Victor stands and walks away from the table.
"Nice guy, salt of the terrin plains!" Tony says as he watches Victor leave.
"And then some!" Rex adds. The guys around the table chuckle. Rex stands up. "Thanks for the game guys, I guess I'll go over to tha cage and get my 50 thousand credits!"
"Don't spend it all in one place, no pussy is that good." Lester calls after him.
"Unless its a neon." Roger replies quietly.
Tony gives him a hard look" Halo's is a good girl, Rex takes good care of her you take care Roger!"
Rex reaches the cashier window and turns in his player slips. The cashier looks at him funny." Just two slips?"she askes. "Just two slips, eight greens."
"Well done sir! Your credits have been added to your players card." the cashier states. Rex walks away. "Yeah not bad for two hour of play,48 thousand credits."

Kayla Narrady
Age: 26
Height: 5'2"
Body: Slender, tonned, with soft curves, smallish breasts and a tight ass.
Hair: Dark brown, long and usually kept in a tight braid out of the way.
Race: Human - orphaned.

Kayla skirting the dark streets, not loving the cool damp weather or the way the hair on the back of her neck prickled. She had worked hard to achieve the level of respect and a position in the Azure Knights. One of which she was extremely proud of. Not many females made it onto the elite team and most didn't stay long because putting up with a bunch of macho egotistical men who earned their rights to be macho and egotistical was a headache. Still, for the last year she had stuck it out and played the underdog. She'd put up with shit from the others, had been picked on and teased like all newbies and because of her sex and size, she was the perfect candidate for undercover work and had proven herself several times that she was cut out for it.

Still, there were situations that still made her uneasy. Dressed in a simple black jump suit, Kayla pulled her dark cap lower and tapped the handle of her gun that was strapped to her upper thigh. Even as an undercover informant, she wanted and needed the protection. She hated the darkness. Fumbling with one of her pockets, she quickly slipped a pair of glasses onto her face and sighed. Thank god for technology. The high tech glasses lent her night vision, which was imperative to her as she had the most lousy sight in low light.

She traveled down a few alleyways, disgusted by how nasty the area truly was. The scent of urine, alcohol and vomit permeated the air, making her stomach churn. She was eternally thankful to find her mark. The back door to the bar and strip joint was about as rough as the rest of the place, but it didn't seem to bother one drunk and overly frisky couple from rutting against the brick wall on her far side.

Eww. She wrinkled her nose and shook her head in disgust, never understanding how people gave in to such animalistic urges. While she wasn't an innocent, no man or amount of alcohol had ever made her feel the urge to drop her panties, letting them dangle by her toes as he took her then and there. As a matter of fact, so far, no man had impressed her enough to send her into the throws of wild abandon and passion. Which was fine, she didn't need sex or men to complicate her life.

Focusing back on the door, she gave the rusty metal a sharp kick with her foot, afraid to use her hands and felt it give. The door swung open with a cloud clatter and she stepped in, kicking it behind and pushing her glasses up over her cap. She blinked large blue eyes and focused on two beings in the room, her hand itching to take hold of her gun, but instead she stood straight, relaxing her shoulders. “Max, I presume?” She spoke, her voice strong, but distinctly feminine and a little husky.

Her eyes slid over to Halo, the beautiful Neon woman was definitely interesting to look at and for a moment their eyes met, measuring each other up before Kayla gave a curt nod. “I'm Kayla. I hear you're looking for information regarding the Gate Keeper?”

As time ticked away so does Halo annoyance. Her hue returns to normal coloring, radiating only slightly and finally stoppes all together. She sits in the dimly lighted room watching Molta catch bugs, toy with them and then elimate them one by one. She is about to call it a night and write the whole thing off when the door flies open. A smallish sized woman dressed in a simple black jump suit, dark cap, and dark glasses bursts into the office. “I'm Kayla. I hear you're looking for information regarding the Gate Keeper?”
She is much shorter then Halo. As a former dancer Halo is taller then the average Neon to start with, the stranger came up to her shoulders. She sensed an instant attraction to the little woman in black. "We are leaving here soon, well, any information will be of great help to our quest." Halo walks past Kayla and closes the door.
"Quite an entrance you make, Kayla!" Halo returns to Max's desk and notes the blaster. She lightly brushed her blue fingers through Molta's fur. "It just too bad, I'll not be stay here longer, I would of loved to get to know you better ." Halo hears something out side. She turns and walks to the rear door and looks out. The darkness fills the back ally.
A strange odor puts her on a highted sence of alert. She waits to see if she can find the source with out exsposing herself too much. Slowly she opens the door and looks out.
A hooded man in dark brown leather leans against the wall. A fang catcher! Halo realizes. He turns and glares at her then smiles. His yellow fangs protruding downward from his open mouth. Halo slams the door shut. Turns to the small woman. "You were followed, there is a fang catcher out side the door!" Halo wanders around the room trying to think what to do. "Rex is going to love this, I can hear it now...I send you on an easy mission and you screw it up.." She turns to the woman in black. "If I loss my job over this......you will be one sorry little ....aggghh" She stomps away and then spots Max's blaster on his desk under some papers. She walks over to the blaster and picks it up. It is an off world type used by Mariolites. She smiles and energizes the power cell.
"Its not a Republic P 35, but it will do." As if she was seeing the woman for the first time just then. " Oh by the way, I'm authorized to pay you 300 credits for any information!"

Followed? There was no way. Kayla armed herself, holding her blaster firmly, but keeping it pointed down at the floor. "I seriously doubt it followed me." She told the Neon woman, her voice holding an edge to it. Of course it could have been possible. She had been extremely careful, but her senses had been on high alert and that prickly sensation she sometimes got when she knew something was up had never left.

"Well, you can just blame it on, even though it's not my fault." Kayla told Halo and slanted her a small humorless grin. "Sort of hard to spill the beans right here, right now with a threat just outside that less than sturdy door." She gave Max a meaningful look and he shrugged as if he really couldn't give a crap.

"300 credits will do me just fine...we just need a quieter place to talk, don't you think?" She added, which was soon followed by a loud crash as the door swung open and the yellow fanged ugly man stepped inside. "Oh yeah...ewwww...you're an ugly bastard!"

His smell still lingers in her nose. Halo breathes a sigh of relief when Kayla produces a blaster too. She smiles to herself as she backs into Max's office watching the door as she moves. She reaches the desk and hears a large crash. The fang catcher is standing in the door way. In a second she sees the fang catcher rushing toward her.

Molta screams her allarm at the stranger rushing into the office. Halo levels the blaster and fires. The pulse bursts from the weapon and strikes the fang catcher in the chest. His leather chest protector is no match for the Mariolite blaster. It punches through the leather and into the catcher's chest thrusting him backwards.

He recovers slightly and looks down at the hole in his chest then at Halo. He takes a step toward her and then sees Kayla. Halo elavates the second shot slightly a pulls the trigger. The second shot hit the fang catcher in the mouth while it is open and blows the back of his head away. The blow sends the fang catch backwards toward the open back door.

Halo looks at Kayla"You might be right about a quieter place, but at this time of the night the security police will not be polite. I have to get back to my ship, my owner will punish me if he has to bail me out of jail. Your welcome to join me, unless you want to go to jail and be raped by several 300 pound Korgian women."

Max walks over and sits down at his desk and sighs, then looks at the fang catcher. "Nice shot Halo, what is this?" He gets up from his desk walks over to the body still twitching. "This is Hui Ta the fang catcher!" Max looks up from the body to Halo.

"He works for the Gatekeeper, he's a wanted criminal, you must notify the Azure Knights! They have a bounty on him."
Halo looks at the body then back at Max. "The Azore Knights? I never heard of them." Max leans over the body and fishes around till he finds what he's looking for, a small silver disc. He pulls it off the fang catcher neck and hands it to Halo. "Give this to Rex. He will know what to do with it!"

Halo takes the disc from Max and looks at Kayla " My ship is near by are you coming?"

Kayla was thankful for Halo's shooting skills. While she was good, she wanted to save her charge. When Max identified the dead fang catcher, little went off in her head and she was mildly relieved when Halo knew nothing of the Azure Knights. She was safe for a while longer.

She watched the small disk being passed along and where Halo pocketed the tiny device over her full breast. That would be tricky to get to! Playing it cool, she grinned. “Oh I don't know...I hear those women have a certain appeal...” Her words trailed off as she spun to follow Halo, ignoring Max who toes the dead man and sighed in exasperation. Paper work would take hours and he was already exhausted!

“Right, lets go! I don't think I'm that desperate for that sort of attention right now. Lets get out of here before the police...” Sirens and flashing lights light up the place and Kayla cursed. Halo shot her a wink and she followed the Neon woman out the back room. With the front also covered, Kayla tugged the taller woman into a murky, dirty bathroom and wrinkled her nose. “Jesus, stinks in her. Give me a boost babe – we're going to pretend we're on a bad date.”

It didn't take much to boost Kayla's petite and compact frame to the high positioned window. She wiggled and squirmed, busting through the opening and then leaning in to hold out a surprisingly strong hand to pull Halo up. The scaled the short ledge and climbed up to the rooftop, breathing a sigh of relief. “Lets vamos!”

“Lets vamos!”

The little woman is remarkable stong for her size, this impressed Halo. They knelt down and climbed the slippery roofing slats. Halo lead Kayla over the roofs toward the space port. After a half hour of roof jumping they find a drain pipe that lead to a street . They slide down the pipe to the street below.

Rust and slime from the pipe and roofs cover their outfits. Halo looks at Kayla and smiles. "You'r the first human I ever roof jumped with!" Kayla looks just as dirty as Halo. Halo looks down the quiet street. "We should be all right now, we look like we work the night shift and are returning back to the port. I'll use my badge to get us past the guard."

After a few turns Halo and enter a large plaza in front of the spaceport. The sign reads.

KORGON INERPLANETAY SPACE PORT # 5

Kayla grinned. She sorta liked Halo. The tall beautiful alien was bold and brassy and not afraid to get dirty. She was pretty disgusted with her own dirty state, but it did lend a certain amount of realism to getting past the guards.

She nodded at Halo who lead the way. Kayla stayed a step behind, keep an eye around as they walked briskly. When they arrived at the gate, Halo flashed the guards her badge and a super sweet smile that had all of them transfixed while Kayla became her shadow and passed them without question.

“You're good. Thanks.” She murmured softly and checked to make sure her cap was still straight and her gun in place. “I don't know about you, but I'm about ready to get out of here.”

The Star Dreamer

Halo leads Kayla to the crew gowning room. A few buildings from the launch pads. The lights from the space port blanketed the entire area. Only a few buildings are dark. The armory is active with crews gathering weapons and power packs for their early morning missions.

They pass the maitence shed where a couple wolf whistles follow the girls. One machanic calls out. "O'le I like my girls dirty, and nasty!" Halo gives them a Krogan jestrure with her two hands together. He replies wih one in return and calls out "Bitch!"

"You got that right, buddy." she says umder her breath. Soon they are at the gowning room. The room is massive with beams high over head. A tall off worlder namer Blocko is behind the counter. He is a head taller then Halo and smiles at her. Then looks at Kayla and starts to giggle. "Halo who's your little friend? Since when do you hang out with Traipians?"

Halo leans aganst the counter and looks at Blocko and shakes her head. "I love it when you wear yellow, you can hardly tell when you piss your self, when Mariolites come in. My good friend Na' Brok Ben or maybe you know him as Mountain Ben Raider or as his friends, close friends I mean, Ben Sweety. Yeah I hear the Leh Mach Fei is due in soon. "

Blocko looks around the room. "Mariolites coming here?" he starts to rub his fingers together nervously. " You mean they signed the peace treaty already, we were told that talks had broken down over enslavement policies."
Halo shook her head" No Blocko they settle that, 12 men and 1 woman per hundred. Matter of fact, the Korgons want off worlds to be at the front of the line. No need to worry Blocko, your a fast runner. You will do well in the hunting games. One out of seven survive the first hunt. Ten hunts and your a free man, hell they may even give you a woman!"

Blocko looks around nervously"Ah, Halo what would it take for you to put in a good word with Ben Mick Nasty?" Rubbing his hands and pulling on his fingers. "You name it, its yours!" As he starts to stutter. "Yours..name, name it!"
Halo smiles at Kayla. "Blocko I'm tired of wearing orange jumpsuit on the ship, I want gold and silver this time!" Blocko nods "Right Commadore, and Fleet Comander jump suits, check any thing else?" He askes rolling his eyes.
"Yes!" Halo continues. "My friend here, who is not a Traipian,by the way, needs eight complete sets of flight gear. Ah, one helmet, and a complete comm set. Four black, two red, one white, one Republic dress uniform. You have one hour till the Star Dreamer leaves to have all that stuff on board." Halo turns and walks out of gowning room and toward the launch pad.

Before them sits the Star Dreamer. Rex Lionheart's ship. "I hope I didn't over do it." Halo whispers. " If Rex askes, your our new gunner."

Kayla had to squelch the urge to laugh as the big man stuttered and nervously began to shift before taking his orders and running like a scared rabbit. Halo was right. For a big man, he could run!! When he was gone, a grin split her lips and she giggled. “You're good. I like your style.”

Now to deal with this 'Rex.' She wondered what kind of man she was going to come across, but had dealt with her fair share of assholes, so wasn't overly worried. Gunner...she could play that role, no problems. “Gotcha. No problems.” She told Halo, following casually behind as she took in the ship that was to be her escape route for the time being. It was no problem knowing that she would run into her own crew sooner or later and she had already left word of what was going on while they had been busy scaling rooftops.

“I'll be a lot happier when we get out of these dirty things.” She commented, their boots making a loud mettalic clang as they climbed the open ramp of the starship. “You think he's home?”

Her gaze roamed around the shift, impressed by it's level of cleanliness and top gear. “Want to share a shower?” The blue being asked oh so casually, making Kayla trip over her own feet.

A rumbling laugh followed from ahead and her gaze fixed itself on a sexy pair of hazel color eyes, a cocky smile spreading over an all too handsome face. “Um...no...errr...thanx.”

Rex Lionheart

Rex moves from Engineering consol to the Operations consol. The computer voice responds to him in notable female vioce. NO, Rex that is incorrect!
Rex is pissed off he looks at the pressure readings again. "Fuck you computer the pressure should be 3.0psi/ptr not 2.7 ."
Rex that is incorrect replies the computer.
"Ok computer explain to me why 2.7 and not 3.0!"
Rex we have been through this, gravity, the gavity on this planet requires only 2.7 psi/ptr not 3.0
"Gravity difference is .3?"
Yes, Rex the gravity lift ratio is .3 difference over standard
"So we save on fuel..right!"
Yes Rex, the savings is minimal, 20.3 credits per thrust pounds
"Minimal, thats a lot of credits at high speed launch."
Rex the savings is minimal at any launch speed
"Bullshit computer a 20k push launch is a savings of 406k"
standard launches cost more true, but the savings are stiill minimal
Rex bursts out laughing and walk away from the consol.
He hears “Want to share a shower?” then “Um...no...errr...thanx.”
He stand at the top of the port entry ramp and looks down at the two dirty women walking up the ramp.
"Halo, you been rolling in the mud?"Rex looks at her sternly.
Halo stoppes in front of Rex with her head down looking at the deck plating.
"I killed a fang catcher and we had to do some roof hopping to stay out of jail."
Rex looks at Kayla. "Ok tell me your story and why Halo had to kill a fang catcher. Wait!" Rex puts up his hands. "You know what, save it for later your tracking up my loading ramp and deck plating. Since your entering my ship I gather we are going some where. Would some one like to tell me where?"
Halo opened her breast pocket and handed Rex the metal disc. "To the Azure Knights!" she replies to Rex.
Rex looks at the disc.

שלי החושך תגלית שאתה לפני האור. שומר השער

(May the darkness find you befor the light) The Gate Keeper.

Rex nods. "Find her quarters in Engineering, no make that Operations. Wait, what is she going to do?"

Kayla wasn't entirely sure that she liked the way Halo looked down when Rex spoke to her. It stirred something inside her, made her angry that she was acting like nothing but a two bit slave. A possession. Still she held her tongue – after all, she really didn't know much of their situation and perhaps Halo was okay with this arrangement.

She watched Rex prattle on for a second and quirked a brow, trying not to laugh. He seemed to be all over the place. “I'm your new gunner.” She told him and flashed him a grin. “A very dirty gunner at that.”

He made a small non-committal noise and eyed her a moment longer before nodding. Halo jerked her head to the side and Kayla followed her up the ramp and into the ship. The wound their way through the narrow halls until they reached the shower room. “Everything is pretty much shared around here.” Halo pointed to a row of silvery lockers at one end of the room. “Lockers, you'll find towels, shampoos and soaps all there. Whatever you need, usually Rex has it in stock.”

“What a surprise.” Kayla said dryly and watched as Halo began stripping down. She quickly turned away and watched as several different shower heads turned on. Quickly she stripped, “Guess we're sharing after all.”

Tossing the dirty jump suit to the side, she undid her hair and ran her fingers through the dark strands. They were both women right? Grabbing some soap, she stepped under the spray and sighed as the hot water hit her skin. She made short work cleaning herself up, all too aware that Halo was watching her.

Halo stepped into the shower and looked up in to the flowing water. Finding her flake soap, she liked best. She looked at Kayla's small strongly built frame admiring her compact body. "I think you have the wrong idea about Rex, I sence you don't approve of him. "Halo crushes several flakes in her hand and spread the pieces over her body. The flakey pieces turn a pale blue as she rubs them against her wet skin.

"Neon culture is not easy for humans to understand. Neon men are very rare one out 200,000 neons are male. Birthing centers from the begining have tried to make DNA and chemical , biological studies to increase the amounts of males. Nothing has worked. Yellow and Orange Neons grow like trees in a forest. Young females grow and find jobs without males then grow older and darker and after some time just die off. The lucky ones like myself get off the planet. I got a job with a traveling dance team. When I was bought the traders put me in a transmuting chamber. They changed my body chemistry. Changing my hue to blue. After that I could never return to the Neon home world. Blue Neons all shunned. Slave trials lasts weeks. Every thing you did or do or might do are put on display. The idea of justice is death, if your lucky, a quick death. If your not, a long painful ordeal dragged on over weeks. As a blue Neon I danced at the biggest clubs. I had men and women every night. Four women at the same time was not uncommon. I danced like no others. I did women like no others. I was in high demand. Mothers brought their daughters to the clubs to be sexed by me. I was the best! And the credits, oh the credits I would get. Ten Thousand, twelve thousand.Once a mother brought in a set of twin girls. They had just reached age. And she paid me twenty thousands to do each in a private show. They stayed the night. Left in the morning. Killed their father the same night. After me they wanted nothing of men. I dances four more years. Then one night I slipped on stage and broke my leg. The break weakened my flow capacity. My ablity to dance came to a crashing end. I lived on my savings for a while. I got back my use of my leg. But to the dance world I was dead. I could not get a job. My value dropped like a rock. I lost every thing I had. I was alone, I was drinking. I got sold from owner to owner. None cared about me. I was a thing, a quick fuck and back out on the street. Sex for food or a drink. One night I was in a bar playing with a lamp shade. Just turning it off and on. Off and on. Rex came in with two friends. I looked at him and smiled and fell over on the floor. It took two weeks before I was able to look him in the eye. I told him my story. He went to a Neon broker and had a work up of my papers sent to the central goverment. They declaring me free of all my previous owners. 100% free. Most dancers have many owners. The more your sold the less you have of yourself. Everyone gets a cut. And the sale doesn't end the ownership, it subdivides it. All my old owners have no claim on me. I'm free! It cost Rex months of work to get through all the ownership deals. One would get done three more would pop up. Then there were the subtrades. The rights to ownership were tied up in several courts. It was a mess. Everyone had a piece of Halo. Six off world corperations had a part of me in their asset holdings."

Kayla listened to Halo's story with amazement. Perhaps she had judged Rex a little too quickly. Obviously he had gone to great lengths to 'free' her from the multiple bonds that held her down. After quickly rinsing, Kayla shut off the shower head and grabbed a towel, drying herself off briskly before wrapping her body with it. “I apologize for jumping to my own conclusions. Obviously Rex has done a lot for you. I haven't met very many Neons.”

“I do have one question for you...well, maybe two.” She grinned, “Hope you have a spare suit while we wait on our order and two, why are we pretending that I'm the new gunner?”

She finger combed her hair as Halo finished rinsing herself off. Her tall, graceful form beautiful to look at. “I'm assuming that he must have known you were meeting an informant. What would it matter if you brought me along when that fang catcher interrupted our meeting? Surely he would understand that this wasn't your fault...if anything, it was probably mine...”

Engineer or not

“I do have one question for you...well, maybe two.” She grinned, “Hope you have a spare suit while we wait on our order and two, why are we pretending that I'm the new gunner?”

" I see your the old fashion type, you grabbed a towel, I prefer the auto drier" Halo walks over to a booth seperate from the shower and pressed several buttons. Warm air flowed from the machine and whipped her body. A vented shield covered her and spread the warming breeze, completely drying her body. Then a fine mist was spayed on her. After 45 seconds the sheild withdraws and she walks over to lockers biult on to the wall. She opens a locker and pulls out a cloth long robe and puts it on. She moves down to a consol and looks Kayle up and down. She presses a couple buttons. In two minutes a buzzer sounds. She opens a draw and pulls out a robe just Kayle's size and hands it to her.
"This should take care of you till you sruff gets here." Halo walks out of the shower area and walks to the operations section of the ship. She stops in front of a doorway. The door has O-2-B on the door.

This is a Republic registered ship, Rex can give you all the details if you want them. Every thing is color coded, our flight suits are color coded. Gunners are part of security so they are black, operations are red, navigation is orange, maintance is white, command is grey. If Blonko is smart your dress uniform will have a black stripe on you leg section. Fashons change with the high command changes we never know what the dress uniform will look like till we get them."

Halo turns to the door and presses a button. "Security vioce print Bravo Alpha Bravo-Halo. New quarters assignment." Halo miles as she looks at Kayla. This will be your quarters. In few minutes the computer hologram will be here and ask your name. Just answer and touch the touch pad, it will take a copy of your finger print and copy of you vioce.

" Oh and to answer your question about being a gunner. The last girl I brought on as an Enrineer to run the engins. She jumped ship at the first stop. That pissed Rex off big time. So I figured that telling him your a gunner he would not think back to our run away engineer, it has nothing what ever to do with the fang catcher. One thing about Rex and this is his blind spot." Halo looks down the hall toward the command level of the ship.

"To be honest, Rex could care less about anything that happens outside the ship. That can be good and bad. You tell him its for the ship and its good as gold. In other words your the gunner for his ship! And that is all that counts"
A female hologram appears and looks at Halo and Kayla. "Name and Station, Please ."

Kayla dressed quickly as Halo filled her in and then followed her. She was lost in thought, letting Halo handle the computer details, setting her up so that she would be able to use her own voice commands. Together they moved further into the ship where Halo showed Kayla where she would be sleeping and working.

Kayla processed all the info given to her was impressed by Rex's level of commitment to his ship. Everything was top notch, well taken care of, neat, clean and in order. “So now what? With the fang catcher dead, the information I have is rather mute. Obviously he must have been following me and now Rex has information for the Azure Knights. It seems that perhaps we'll be seeking them out?”

She gazed at Halo who wasn't giving anything away with her expression. Taking a seat at her 'station', Kayla swiveled around, leaning her head back. This was a far cry from where she was supposed to be, but with thanks to the tracking device implanted under her skin of her upper arm, she knew that they could find her if need be.

processes and proctures

Halo stayed with Kayla throught the processing of her quarters and registering her as a gunner on a Rebulic ship. The E-forms were a blizzard of data forms, information forms and payroll forms. Normally a gunner on a large Rebulic ship would be housed in barracks holds or a crew sleeping quarters near their weapon. Since this was a "merchant ship" and has a very small crew every one was an officer.

After Kayla was settled in Rex stopped by to talk to her about her job as gunner.

" The licence number of our ship is IS789-2-456. The IS is interstellular a Republic designation the 2 in the middle is ship class. 789 is ship model. 456 Is the Republic ship designation."
"Like I said the Star Dreamer is a class 2 ship, with a Jupiter/Triaxian engine, four multi warping cores. While configured as a freighter it has raider weapony, four long range hyper thumpers, six Clayborn rail launchers, two forward blister packs of short range plasma launchers and on the upper level, a twin Clayborn 75 mm rotory cannons with a auto feeder on an armored platform. The twin 75s are new. They were just installed at the Clatborn Ship Center not more then a couple months ago.The Star Dreamer has 14 pirate kills, 24 raider kills. 11 spider kills,2 mega lifters, 2 SOLs (Ships of the Line), and has the range and power of a heavy cruiser. It is a registered Star Repulicain ship and can haul all but class 1 cargo (Military), legally. "
The Star Dreamer has inter-light capacity, the main engine is a rebuilt from a Triaxian mauler named MOTH VERS GROTHOUS if you don't know Triaxian. Thats The Mother of Gods House, it was a hell of a ship took 182 thumper hits before breaking up and I got its main engine for a song. While it may seem strange for a ship this size to only have one engine. Its one hell of a powerfull engine. And the four warping cores make us very fast."

Kayla listened to Rex, nodding and taking mental note as he rattled on about the ship. Halo hadn't been kidding. The ship was his pride and joy and he certainly was proud of it's capabilities.

“Very nice. I'm sure I'll have no problems working on your ship. It would actually be a pleasure seeing as everything is in such order and top shape.” She told him and smiled, hoping to play on his good side.

Vaguely she wondered what he had done with the information that Halo had handed him, but figured one way or another, she would find out as soon as they found the Azure Knights. “So what are your plans?”

Mariolites

Rex sat down in a chair in Kayla's room.

“So what are your plans?” Kayla asks.

Rex smiles. "Halo's little stunt in the gowning room made quite a stur. I got three flash messages about hauling cargo out of here before the Mariolites get here. We all know that the tale she told is bullshit. No peace treaty is in place. The Mariolites are not even in this sector. The Korgons are sending out more patrols, and further out to find them. They will find only open space. "
Rex stands and looks at Kayla "You have eyes like my wife had. " He walks to the door and turns.
"The Korgans are loading 28 tons of Corginite plasma in 2 ton containers into the cargo section 2. They are ordering me to get it off the planet and get rid of it. A plasma dealer on Star Base Tango 5 is offering me 5 credts a pound. On the way there is the planet Dropla. They have Dropla sticks that need to be transported to a mining colony on a Clayborn asteroid in the Drako system. While we are there we can ask around about the Azure knights and how we can find them. Then once we get to the star base we ask there. They are a great place for information. And the bar at Tango 5 is a rocking place. Halo has been thrown out of there three times for trying to pick up alien women. She is a damn good navigator, but a slut around women. Hell they caught her doing a Tubulian woman one night. I had to pay 200 credits to get her out of the base brig."

His offended comment about her eyes is puzzling, but Kayla says nothing as she listens to him, flushing a little as he tells her about Halo's appetite for the fairer sex. The woman had already seen her naked and had offered a little more than a shower already. The whole idea made her insides feel funny.

She shifted in her seat and nodded at Rex. “Sounds like a good plan. I'll keep my ears open for info and maybe keep my eyes open around Halo. Maybe between the two of us we can keep her out of trouble.” A wry smile played on her lips at the thought of babysitting the blue alien woman. “Never thought I'd have to keep another woman away from other women, but hey – to each his own!”

Corginite/ and launch

Over a two hour period the Korgons loaded the Corginite into the Star Dreamer. Finally the last of the heavy lifters loaded the containers in to the #2 cargo hold. Korgan officials brought E-Books out to the Star Dreamer. Half way though the loading a messanger arrived with a large bundle rapped in plasic and asked for Halo.
She took the bundle to her quarters and opened it. Out of it spilled the uniforms and gear she had ordered forom Blocko. Sure enough they had gotten the uniforms right. A black strip down the pant leg of Kayla's dress uniform. Every thing is here, the helmet she would need at her gunnery station in the Operation area and if she need to work the twin 75 mm guns by hand it wound keep her head from banging against the armored turret. She would bring the stuff to Kayla first chance she got. She would look forward to seeing Kayla naked again. The thought of her in the shower with the water running down her body is more then Halo could handle.
Halo opens her robe and starts touching her nipples. They turn a darker shade of blue and a warm glow rises from her breasts. A low wave of pleasure starts to flow from her body as she trails her fingers lower down her body . She thinks of Kayla body naked, her face sweaty, her hair damp and hanging loosely behind her. Halo can see her sliding a blue finger in to her love canal then a second. Then a third. Sliding them in and out slowly at first then guiding Kayla's hand to her canal ......
"BRONG, BRONG BRONG!" sounds in side her room, bring her back to the real world. "Loading is complete get your ass into a jumpsuit and get to your station." Rex calls over the intercom.
Halo quickly grabs a black jumpsuit from the pile and heads out the door. then realizes she still has on her robe. she rushes back in to her room and opens up her closet and pulles out an orange jumper and climbs into as she zips it than remembering her boots, She quickly slips into them and they secure around her feet. Finally she is ready. She rushs down the corridor to the Operations area. She finds room O-2-B and presses the buttom next to the door. It opens and Kayla stands in the doorway looking at her.
"Here is your jumpsuit, get dressed fast and get to your station. Rex will be launching soon!" Halo turns and trots to the Command deck. soon she is at her post.
"NAV ready, starting pre launch in......."

Kayla rushed to get dressed in her jumpsuit and grabbed her helmet for good measure, making a mad dash for her station. With seconds to spare, she buckled her body down, slipped on her helmet and braced herself. Truth be known, she had never been a great fan of flying, but here she was, caught up in a star ship pretending to be it's gunner. That the gunner part bothered her – that part she could handle.

Pressing her lips together, she heard the ship rumble to life and clenched down on her seat. “Ah crap – here we go.” She murmured and closed her eyes as Halo's voice followed by Rex's filtered through her helmets com system.

Surprisingly enough, launch was smooth, but did nothing to dull the nervousness she felt being out in space. There was something she had never enjoyed about travel...had always prefer her feet firmly planted on the ground. Too late now! They were onto their next mission. What they didn't know was that Kayla already knew where the Azure Knights were and how to contact them.

Blow the roof

"Prelaunch complete!" the female voice computer states flatly.
"Halo we are cleareded for scramble launch. No controler. repeate no controler!"
Halo responds" Roger, all clear no controler launch, we are go for srcamble launch!"
Rex looks at the electronic needles jumping on his board. "Fuel mix is good opening dampers."
Halo echos his message"Fuel mix good, opening dampers."
"Locking brakes and clamps. " Rex calls out.
Halo responds. Brakes locked, clamps on!"
Rex Watches as the Jupiter/Triaxian engine gains power. The ship starts to shake as the engine powers up. "80%" calls out Rex. Halo looks at her board. "Dampers at 95% and climbing!" Rex watches as the power continues to build. " 95..96" Rex calls out. Halo responds "Dampers at 102%"
"Hold dampers to 105 then let them go..98 stand by!" The ship is shaking three launch light come in at once. " The computer vioce comes on. " Power 100% dampers at 105%.
"Release the clamps and the brakes" Halo hits the three red buttons all at the same time. " The engine screams the ship stops shaking and faster then you can blink the Star Dream is off the launch lad. With the high speed launch underway the Star Dreamer raises its nose to break out of the atmosphere. Rex raises the nose to 15 degrees. Then 20 then 30. I minutes he is through the upper atmosphere and the edge of space.
"Close all dampers!" Rex calls out.
"Dampers closed!" Halo responds as she presses the damper buttoms.
"Blow the roof!" Rex calls out.
Halo hits the switches that kick start the warping cores and the Star Dreamer punches out into space and rocketing toward the stars.

Kayla breathed a small sigh of relief and unclenched her body as the ship settled, but instantly wished they were back on land. Her legs quivered slightly as she stood and stretched out of her seat. “This sucks...” She muttered to herself and went in search of Halo or Rex, jamming her trembling hands into her flight suit.

Her flight boots plodded along the corridors as she made her way to the helm. Doors hissed open as she slipped into what she assumed was Rex's station and found him looking completely relaxed and at ease in his chair. “Rex.” She caught his attention, clasping her hands behind her back as he swiveled around to look at her.

“Sorry, didn't mean to disturb. I haven't fully acquainted myself with the ship yet and after our last talk, I'm not sure I want to be left alone in the company of Halo for any length of time.”
