The bar is dark lite only a single flickering light far in the back booth well out of sight from the street. Its way beyond closing time when the security team shook the front door to make sure it was closed tight. They shined a light around inside quickly and moved on to the next building. The owner was asleep in his office. He had been counting receits when he had dropped off to a quiet snooze. A bug flew by and landed on a pile of credits. It walked around the credits and then hopped down to the desktop and started to meander around just looking at what was on top of the desk.
Molta saw the movement and grew more interested by the second. She followed it with her eyes. Crawl to the right then turned back turned to the left then the right. This was to much for Molta she sprang down from her bookcase perch on to the desktop. And with a shape claw tried to ripp into the flying bug. The bug had ahard outside shell that Molta could not tear through. The commotion woke the owner. He saw the bug reached over and grabbed a large wooden mallet with a metal facing. He brought it down on the bug and it shattered into several parts.
"MOLTA...great job!" the owner bellowed as he stroked his pet. Molta arched her back enjoying the attention from her keeper. Lookes around the room and then finally on the curtain seperating the bar front room and the back office. Normally the owner would have not have hesitated to pull out his blaster and kill the intruder. Both he and Molta knew someone was just out side the curtain, this time he also knew who it was.
"Come in Halo." he grunted. A tall thin blue woman slipped into the office. She is wearing an orange jumpsuit and way out of place.
"Did Molta kill another goverment spy, Max? Halo askes in her musicaly toned vioice. The owner, Maxamillion Harper looked at Halo with a disapproving eye.
"When are you going to dance for me again, Halo?" He leans b ack in his chair and looks Halo up and down
"Two thousand credits a night, Halo I've got some big spenders in my club."
Halo frowned at Max" Max you own a bar not a club, besides I use to get 10 to 12 thousand credits when I use to dance, I belong to Rex anyway."
Max looks at her and nodds "Yeah I know, what a waste a body like that and a navagator what a sad tale." Max grumbles.
"He gave me a job when no one else would" Her blue hue starting to brighten.This was a warning Max knew all to well. Neons react quickly to passion anger beeing one of them. "And where is this girl with information about the Gate keeper?"
Max looks around the office to a time piece he has on the wall.
"Any time now,she'll be coming in the back door." Max says hopefully.

Cadallac Casino-Hex Room

Rex layes his hex cards face down to the ever changing table top. He was working a six hex green straight. He waited for Roger D'loper to make his play. Rex watched as Roger shuffled his hand.
"Play Blue Roger, Tropie has the weakest hand put him out!" Rex remarks.
Victor Von Tropie glares at Rex. "Rex you been blockin ma red all night, give it a rest!"
Rex leans back in his chair and sees one of the waitresses he knows coming his way. He waves to her and she comes over.
"What can I get yeah, Rex?" Rubla askes.
Rex looks at Tropie before answering. "Rubla sweety bring me a tall dirty water on the stones!"
Rubla blushed" Rex your a bad boy, you know that." She tries to smile, I'll bring you your usual, a dead baby."
Rex smiles"Now your talking woman, bring me a dead baby!" Rubla shakes her head as she walks away.
Lester Moss who was sitting next Rex whisper to him. "You better watch it Rex they don't like that kinda talk in here." Rex watches as Roger playes a yellow 5 hex. That didn't hurt him none he still had two more open sides to play. Victor follows suit and lays a 4 yellow, keeping him in the game. Rex checks his cards cards he has a yellow hex card, but that is not the suit he wanted to play. He needed green.
Tony Lapperson playes a blue 4, changing the color. Lester follows suit and lays a blue 7. Not a winning play but he stays in the game. Rex checks his hand and there it is a green 7. He layes the 7 down. "Seven of eight" he calls out!"One more ta win." Just then Rubla shows up with his drink.
"Thank you Rubla on my tab please." He says. Rubla smiles and walks away adding his drink to her count.
Rex had two cards left a green to win and a standing yellow card. Only a standing bridge cold stop him, where the players locked up to an allready running leg of hexes. While possible there would have to be three players working together to make that happen. Roger followed suit and layed a green 1. No harm done there. That make six for Roger. Victor lays red1 and calles out "7 of 8, one ta win!"
Tony was the last player that could block him with a bridge. Tony look at Rex then Victor. He knew he couldn't win, he was just trying to decide who to block. Tony had two cards. Rex figured one was red the other green. Rex picks up his drink and take a long pull. And places it down on the table now colored red. Tony shuffles his cards and pulls one off the bottom. A yellow 1. No bridge! And changes the color again. The table top is yellow now. Lester looks at his cards. He had two cards left. He layed them on the table."No play."
Rex looks at the dealer"No shoot I'll play these." Everone at the table held their breathe to see what Rex would do.
Rex smiles and flips the green 6 next to his green 7. "Thats eight gentleman!"
Lester drops his cards on the table. "You drew eight greens in less then one shoot?"
"Yes I did, Lester." Rex replies.
Victor Von Tropie snears at Rex. " Your a pale dog, Rex Lionheart I hope you die in deep space!" Victor stands and walks away from the table.
"Nice guy, salt of the terrin plains!" Tony says as he watches Victor leave.
"And then some!" Rex adds. The guys around the table chuckle. Rex stands up. "Thanks for the game guys, I guess I'll go over to tha cage and get my 50 thousand credits!"
"Don't spend it all in one place, no pussy is that good." Lester calls after him.
"Unless its a neon." Roger replies quietly.
Tony gives him a hard look" Halo's is a good girl, Rex takes good care of her you take care Roger!"
Rex reaches the cashier window and turns in his player slips. The cashier looks at him funny." Just two slips?"she askes. "Just two slips, eight greens."
"Well done sir! Your credits have been added to your players card." the cashier states. Rex walks away. "Yeah not bad for two hour of play,48 thousand credits."

Name: Kirya Ti'sava'lar

Race: Mynaali- a psychically talented race of humanoids with plant fronds in place of hair and photosynthetic needs.

Appearance: 5'2", 90lbs, large almond eyes, pale skin, and shoulder-length fronds. All of her coloration is in hues of green, from her peridot green eyes, to her pastel green lips and green-yellow skin. Her features are akin to an Asian human's with slanted eyes and a heartshaped face. She is quite slender and delicate by human standards. Her fronds are a rich deep emerald chased with golden-green veining, a hue considered quite desireable among Mynaali.

Background: Kirya possesses unique psychic talents of healing, teleprojection, and basic telepathy. She attended the Mynaali Science Academy at the youngest age in record, and graduated at the top of her class. She was hand-picked by the Council Matriarch to participate in the fledgling Mynaali Space program. After serving five years on an exploration vessel, her ship was attacked by pirates and with little to no defensive capability, the entire crew save Kirya was slain. She survived by slipping aboard the pirate vessel and hijacking one of their small, short-range craft, and has used her extensive knowledge of technology to keep it operational far beyond it's intended function.

Kirya's greatest difficulty is her dependence upon Ultraviolet light from the spectrum of the Mynaali Sun (akin to Earth's own sun). Without daily doses of UV light she will quickly sicken and die as her body requires it on a cellular level in order to digest nutrients. This requirement can be easily met by a specially designed UV lamp, or through exposure to standard variety natural sunlight whilst planetside.

~~~
A light tap at the backdoor was all that announced the Mynaali's arrival as she stepped into the office, not bothering to wait for a reply.
"You are my contact?" The petite green-haired woman asks of Halo, regarding her apprisingly. "You understand I expect to see the money before I loose any information."
Kirya's voice is as gentle and delicate as the rest of her, but the gleam in her peridot eyes is hard. She had been forced to grow up a great deal since leaving Mynaal. Space was a vast and dangerous place, full of people eager and willing to take from her all she had to offer and give nothing in return.
One fragile, cream-skinned hand fanned out slightly, palm down, at waist height. To another who was psychically talented, it could be considered a gesture of greeting, or a great insult, as Kirya scanned the Neon's surface thoughts lightly; not prying, just picking up what the other woman offered. Non-Telepaths were completely unaware that they went around projecting their surface thoughts for anyone to read. Among the Talented, training was offered to keep these thoughts to themselves, as they could actually project into the minds of the unTalented, causing a great deal of confusion and upset.
For the moment, Kirya only read to see if the Neon was worth her time and her trust. Max had claimed to have found a prospective buyer for the information she carried, but the middle-man was less than perfectly trustworthy himself. If her ship hadn't needed repaired, Kirya wouldn't be wasting her time as it was, but the jury-rigged Jump Drive that she had built from scraps and a lot of hope wasn't holding up to the strain. She needed a more permanent solution, or a else an entirely different ship altogether, but she simply hadn't the credits for it.
"You are my contact?"
As time ticked away so does Halo annoyance. Her hue returns to normal coloring, radiating only slightly and finally stoppes all together. She sits in the dimly lighted room watching Molta catch bugs, toy with them and then elimate them one by one. She is about to call it a night and write the whole thing off when a light rapping at the door alerts her.
"You are my contact?" The petite green-haired woman asks of Halo. "You understand I expect to see the money before I loose any information." Halo smiles at her. Her large almond eyes, pale green skin that gave off a green hue. She is much shorter then Halo. As a former dancer Halo was taller then the average Neon to start with, the stranger came up to her shoulders. She sensed an instant attraction to the little green woman.
"I can offer you 300 credits on a players card." Halo respondes. Hoping the woman refuses so she could offer her something less tangable then credits and more sexually fullfilling.
Kirya cocks an eyebrow at the Neon. The other woman's demeanor had shifted slightly, and another passing scan brought a light blush to the Mynaali's cheeks.
"A...ah...player's card... I'm sure that will be fine." She replies, both stumbling over her words and speaking faster than she was before.
Kirya had never been admired by another female quite so blatantly and it made her nervous. She had to look away from the Neon's intense gaze to avoid responding to the woman's unspoken overtures.
Kirya pulled a small disk from the back pocket of her flightsuit. The ensemble wasn't her first choice of garb, but she found it easier for menfolk to take her seriously if she weren't dressed in her flowing and diaphanous golah. The native garb of a Mynaali leader was not altogether unlike the ancient terran sarong, but far less concealing. For safety's sake, and to expedite transactions with easily distracted males, her flightsuit was a one piece horror of elastic material in dark gunmetal grey with reflective neon green trim. It made her look serious, or so she hoped.
"Here, this lists the technical specifications of the Gatekeeper's vessel, as well as several of the fake identification codes he uses when docking on and off world. It should make it much easier to track his movements, if you and yours know what you're doing." She extended her hands: one open, palm up, the other bearing the disk. "You might have to hack a few dockmaster logs to really put the info to use, but I'm sure your people can handle it." She smiled sweetly.
In truth she didn't care if the Neon and 'her people' could handle it or not. Kirya just wanted to cash in the credits and get while the getting was good. Why anyone would want to track the Gatekeeper, she couldn't imagine. The man, if he could even be called that, was as brutal a murderer as the universe had ever known. Mynaali were unusual compared to most of the myriad space-faring races. Pacifistic by nature, and Matriarchal by choice, they were a breed apart from the vast majority of the races they had encountered. If it weren't for the direct protection of the Republic, who desperately wished to learn about their Psychic talents, Mynaal would have fallen prey to one of the more despotic races centuries ago. Such values made it difficult for Kirya to understand the reasoning behind violence in general, and murder in particular. She simply couldn't imagine why anyone would want to kill another being, or why anyone would want to follow such a killer.
A curious thought flitted across the Mynaali's keen mind. What if the Neon was Republic? She could easily be an undercover agent hunting the Gatekeeper incognito. Kirya gave the Neon an appraising look. She certainly looked to be in awfully good shape for a merchant. It made Kirya want to follow the woman, just to see where it lead. Not an altogether wise urge, but then, Mynaali were known to be somewhat curious and impulsive anyway.
Halo and the fang catcher
"A...ah...player's card... I'm sure that will be fine." the green frond woman responds. Halo bright peircing smile drops to a business like frown. She flips open a pocket of her orange junpsuit and passes the players card to the stranger.
The stranger her passes the a data disc. Telling her about what was on it. This was Rex's game not hers. He was all into finding the Gate keeper. Halo was into finding new ways to explore her sexual proclivities. Even in the gunmetal flightsuit the green woman look engaging. Though she did not seem interested in Halo.
"I will pass this on to proper authorities!" Halo gives her a sad smile. "Its to bad." Halo paused "We are leaving here soon, well, this information will be of great help to our quest." Halo looks around the room for the last time. Lightly brushed her blue fingers through Molta's fur and looks at the green woman and sighs. "It just too bad." She turns and walks to the rear door and looks out. The darkness fills the back ally.
A strange odor puts her on a highted sence of alert. She waits to see if she can find the source with out exsposing herself too much. Slowly she opens the door and looks out.
A hooded man in dark brown leather leans against the wall. A fang catcher! Halo realizes. He turns and glares at her then smiles. His yellow fangs protruding downward from his open mouth. Halo slams the door shut. Turns to the green woman. "You were followed, there is a fang catcher out side the door!" Halo wanders around the room trying to think what to do. "Rex is going to love this, I can here it now...I send you on an easy mission and you screw it up.." She turns to the green woman. "If I loss my job over this......you will be one sorry little ....aggghh" She stomps away and then spots Max's blaster on his desk under some papers. She walks over to the blaster and picks it up. It is an off world type used by Mariolites. She smiles and energizes the power cell.
"Its not a Republic P 35, but it will do!" She walks to the door and looks back at the green woman. "You better pry this works...."
