Boston was a beautiful city though did have it's downsides as well. The harbor area wasn't always the safest of places. However, it didn't stop a determine woman from opening a bar.​

Nikki was wiping down the bar as Emma turned the sign on. She smiled before giving her girlfriend a kiss. Emma was super proud of her girlfriend though wished she picked a different location. Though Nikki did wonders with the bar and it looks awesome. Stuck with the nautical theme as Nikki felt it fit the bar.

Emma had to head out giving Nikki one last kiss before she left. Nikki leaned back against the bar, curious as to how her first day would go. She had hired some bouncers just to be safe as to ease Emma's mind. Smiling as she greeted her first customers. Soon getting them a beer as they talked. After some time more came walking in and Nikki had one of her male bartenders give her a hand.

It had been a long time. After getting his degree and two tours in the navy as a master at arms Jack found himself back in the old neighborhood. He had landed a position in one of the last functioning shipyards in the city. The old house and his family were long gone ,and he was renting a one bedroom apartment in a three Decker just a few blocks from the yard. He left the gate of the yard deciding to head the other way down to Jimmy shays and get himself a beer and maybe grilled tomato and cheese before heading home. The rain dripped from his hat as he read the new name over the door before entering.The Southside in arched gold script. Inside the place had received a major facelift . gone were the old wooden booths and the framed pictures of sports legends on the wall. The place seemed larger ,open and airy . The best improvement was the bartender . No more 400 lb jimmy with the stubby cigar,now there was a beautiful woman.The only thing that hadn't changed was the clientele, they were same old hard-boiled longshoreman and shipyard crews that had been there forever. Jack chose a seat away from everyone with his back to the wall and waited quietly for her to notice him.

Nikki really had improved the bar, looking up as saw a guy walk in. Helping her team though found it odd he choose to sit way in the back. Grabbing a towel to wipe down the bar. Tossing it before she came out behind the bar. Nikki walked right over to him, "What can I get ya?" Smiling as she stood off to the side so he was able to see what they offered. Though he was attractive but none of the customers knew she had a girlfriend. It usually was shock for guys as they would constantly hit on her. Or they would try to get a threesome out of her. Jack looked up and smiled. " I'll have a stellar draft and a couple grilled cheese with tomatoes " . The simple waitress outfit did little to detract from her stunning figure and beauty. As she walked away he could only imagine what she would be like dressed to kill. It was only early evening and it was obvious from the volume and vulgarity that some of these guys had spent the afternoon there. Jack's trained eye scanned the room assessing the most likely and most dangerous threats and looking for anyone who should be watching them as well. He didn't see anyone he thought could keep them inline,and he instinctively went on high alert while he waited for his food.

Nikki smiled as he ordered what he wanted. "I'll go put that in right away and be right back with that draft."she said. Turning around and headed back to the bar. Now he got a view of her backside , though the cat calling began once she was closer to bar. Tuning them out before heading back to Jack. "Here you go."she said leaning down to place his drink before him. Not realizing it gave him a view down her shirt. "Your grilled cheese should be put in a few. "She said. Flashing a smile before heading back to the bar.

The guys continued with the cat calls. "Look I'm flattered but I prefer pussy over cock. And my girlfriend works me just fine ."she said. Eventually they all would find out as Emma was protective when out in public....yet controlling as well.

Jack felt a surge of excitement at the thought of her kissing another woman. At the same time he realized she was as naive as she was beautiful. Her words words would only throw gasoline on the fire. The room erupted with laughter and they slapped their hands on the table as every dike joke they could think of was tossed around the bar. He once again checked for the bouncer that should have been present and saw none. Taking a deep pull from the beer he slid himself over making it easier for to get out of chair in a hurry. No one had done anything but be obnoxious, but he knew from experience it was just a matter of time . So much for that grilled cheese.

Nikki heard the comments, she heard them all before. She slipped into the back to get the grilled cheese. Walking out as she headed out and walked over to Jack. Placing the grilled cheese down in front of him. She headed back to the bar to clean up as the guys were getting rowdy. Deep down she should've made sure one of the male bartenders worker closed with her. Soon she would be shoving them out in a few hours as city made her shut down early. Keep down on some activities that they were trying to crack down on. She was tuning out the comments as she was use to this.

The bulk of the afternoon crowd had paid their tab and left having had enough. Only three remained loudly tossing f bombs and making lewd gestures like sticking their tounge between their fingers as they watched her clean of tables and ignore them. Two were Jack's size but one was a gorilla.they all forgot about jack. They were suddenly quite for a minute leaning in a talking to one another while she busied herself clearing tables and pocketed the money in here apron. The first one quietly got up and moved to the bar cutting off her escape into the kitchen. Number two stood and kicked his chair over and grabbed his crotch. He bellowed at the girl "hey bitch I got something to convert you over to cock. Jack watched her spin around in horror when she realized she was trapped. He moved fast and quiet stepping in front of number two with his back to the girl. " That's enough for today boys pay your bill and go home. Number two let out a laugh . Turning to look at he gorilla " well since queer boy here put it so nicely I guess we should be on our way " . Then he spun back throwing a punch at Jack's head. He saw it coming and easley ducked under it smashing a fist into his gut. As he doubled over jackknee found his chin and sent him falling backwards to the floor. The gorilla stepped over him reaching out to grab at jack. But jack slipped inside his outstretched arms and obliterated his nose before kicking him hard in his privates and dropping him to the floor. Number one attempted to blindside him but jack spun around grabbing his elbow with one hand and cranking his wrist straight down with the other. The man howled in pain and his knees buckled underneath him. Jack looked down at him with an icy stair and glanced at the other two. " one more stupid move from any of you and I will start breaking things you can't even spell.... am I making myself perfectly clear. Number one actually soiled himself before nodding his acknowledgement. " now empty your wallet's on the table as an apology to this young lady and get the fuck out". They did as they were told and when the door closed behind them he turned to find her wide eyed and trembling.

Nikki soon heard the comment as her head snapped up. Seeing the three come towards her as she began to panic. This is what she feared as well as Emma. Hiding behind the guy as shw watched the scene unfold. She was in pure shock as he defended her and actually got them to pay. Nikki had a feelling they were going to try and pay a different way. She owed this man her life as he saved me from some gruesome gang bang. Watching has the men paid before they ran out. Her whole body was trembling as she was trying to process everything.

Emma would need to be called but she didn't want to as it would lead to a fight.. Telling her this was all a bad idea from the beginning. Not even realizing that he was looking at her...too caught up in her thoughts.

He looked at her as she shook. It took a minute for the adrenaline to slow down before he realized she might be afraid of him as much as the goons.
She instantly melted his heart. " I walked here is there someone to get you home?. Sit for a bit I will help you clean up.

Nikki snapped out of it as she slowly took her apron off and sat down. "Yeah....my girlfriend but...she'll be mad."shs said. He really didn't have to help her clean up. Taking a moment to breathe and let her body calm down. "She knew something like this would happen..."she said weakly. Slipping off the chair as she collected the money left before going behind the bar. Collecting up the money before looking to him. "Thank you....for helping me.."she sid. Taking the money to her office and locking it in the safe. Coming back out with her coat and purse.

Jack deftly slipped 30 bucks into the apron while she went for her coat. He knew she would refuse it if he tried to pay. "Ok you should be safe and sound now. Lock this behind me ,I'll be by again tomorrow ". With that he stepped out into the rain. A little ways down the block he hunkered down in a doorway making sure only the girlfriend showed up.

Nikki had called Emma when she was in the office and knew she would be down soon. "Thanks again."she said. Watching him leave and soon after Emma's car appeared. Nikki slipped out only to be pinned against the door. Emma was furious and began to check her over to see if they touched her. Jack coukd see the whole thing unfolding as Emma soon shoved Nikki into the car. They left in a hurry...as Emma wanted to throughly punish her for disobedience.

The next day Nikki was a little slow at work as she had her bar tender take over. She had an interview for another bouncer...one to work nights. After she sat there for a bit and sipped her water. Emma had done a number on her and they currently weren't speaking. Nikki wanted comfort not to be fucked hard because of ego.

Jack had witnessed the fiery girlfriend push her into the car and wondered what the hell that was all about. When he arrived today she didn't even notice him sit down at his same table. She seemed in a bit of a daze while sipping some water. He had a thousand questions on his mind. Half of him was determined to mind his own business and half new he couldn't. He waited patiently for her to see him.

Nikki soon snapped put of it and cleaned up the table. She had hired the guy to help out at night. Looking up she saw the guy that saved her last night.. Smiling as she really wanted to thank him. Serving some beers up before she walked over to him. Not wearing the apron today but jeans and black v-neck shirt.. "What can I get you?"she asked. That smile still on her face as she waited for him to decide. "I want to thank you again for last night......I hired some security help for at night."she said.

Jack cocked an eyebrow when she said she had hired someone. "Oh I was determined to speak with someone about leaving you in the lurch like that. Just didn't know that person was you. My names jack by the way. I think I will stay with the stella for now. Maybe if you have a few minutes you stop by and chat .

"Well Jack....let me go get you that Stella and we can chat."she said. Flashing a smile before she headed back to the bar. Shortly returning with his drink and setting it in front of him. Taking a seat across from him as her bartender had the bar u der control. "I'm Nikki....I own this place."she said. She was super curious about Jack and wanted to know more about him.

"Well my congradulations to the new owner. You've made some very nice changes. Just curious did you buy it from old Jimmy or was there others in between?

"Old Jimmy? I am not sure who you are talking about. I got this place from a guy named Tom. Thank you...this place was super dark. I did a lot of the work myself."she said. Nikki smiled at him as she tuck some hair behind her ear. "I assume you are familiar with this place?"she asked.

I guess you could say that . I grew up around here before I left for the service. I remember this place when it was dark in more ways than one. Jack hesitated for a moment " I normally mind my own business, but I have to confess I stuck a bit last night,,,,,you know to make sure no one else besides your girlfriend showed up." He swallowed a lump in his throat. " she was pretty hard on you all things considered, is e everything alright?

Nikki took a deep breathe as he asked about Emma. "Her and I have a complicated relationship. She doesn't like other touching what is hers. She was the first girl I had even been with and fell for her. Emma has a very dominant personality. She tried to warn me about the dangers."she said. Shifting a bit in her as some purpleish marks were on view on her collerbone.

"She does thank you for stepping in and saving me. Yet her rough side came out."she said. Nikki noticed he was staring and over her marks with her hair. "It's not what you think....I am submissive. Emma doesn't hurt me."she said.

"Thank you....and Emma found him. After last night she wanted someone here right away. Long story short ....she's like the FBI. Hunt down until she finds the one."she said. Nikki didn't mind talking to him about the whole situation. "Anything else you wish to know?"she asked. Curious because she wanted to know more about him.

Oops now I sound like a real jerk . Let me explain, I spent eight years in the navy as a master at arm's in some of the worst dumps our world as to offer.
I have a pretty thorough understanding of what it takes to keep you safe. It would break my heart to find out anyone screwed up that assignment. Ok I'll shut up now . He looked away again realizing he just admitted he cared for her.

Nikki soon chuckled and shook her head. Listening carefully to his words and it gave her an idea. "No but Emma is determined to keep me safe. However, I would like to offer you a job here. I am flattered by your concerns and I know Emma would approve. What do you say?"she said. Hoping he would saybyes as he be working with her whenever she closed the bar.
