I was just curious as to what the members here have as their favorite sound tracks

One of mine is the soundtrack from the movie The Commitments.

There are so many blues and sould tunes in that movie that I just can listen to over and over again. Just to name some:

Chain of fools
Destination anywhere
In the Midnight Hour
Mustang Sally
The Dark End of the Street

Hmm I think it's time I watch that movie again soon!

Oh, man. This one is difficult.
Having grown up in the 80's, "The Breakfast Club" soundtrack is pretty good.

But, if I had to chose, I would have to say "The Wedding Singer" both vols.
Billy Idol
Presidents of the United States
David Bowie. . .
Just goes on and on.

Plus the movie has Drew Barrymore and Christine Taylor in it.

The Dirty Dancing soundtrack! Some great stuff on that! I also like to listen to The Lord of the Rings when I want to relax, I have all 3 of those soundtracks. The music is such an integral part of the movies.

Are we differentiating between soundtrack and score? If not, I'd like to throw a few killer jazz film scores, namely Duke Ellington's score for "Anatomy of a Murder" and Miles Davis' "Lift to the Scaffold." Oh, and the Modern Jazz Quartet recorded a killer score for the Roger Vadim film "One Never Knows," the title song of which is one of the saddest pieces of music I've ever heard. Oh, and Air's score for "The Virgin Suicides." It's kind of like if you cut up a bunch of Pink Floyd and David Bowie and Beatles and Led Zepplin records and then glued the pieces together into one giant record. Plus some electronic French madness. Gorgeous.

If we're just talking pure soundtracks, I have a soft spot for "Vanilla Sky" and "The Royal Tenenbaums." Both films came out at roughly the same time, so it was like picking up these two ridiculously good mix-tapes from friends who have a really good, accessible taste. Combined they feature Elliott Smith, Bob Dylan, the Red House Painters, R.E.M., the Velvet Underground, the Ramones, Radiohead, and thats just a really cursory list.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou had a great soundtrack. Brazilian covers of David Bowie. Plus, that's an awesome movie.

That IS a great movie.. kind of a sleeper.

Favorite soundtrack? 8 mile was a goodie.

But so was the Eastrider soundtrack... yeah. That's the one.

I would definitely have to say that my all-time favorite soundtrack would have to be: Knight's Tale.

Its a silly movie, really, but with songs from BTO, Queen, David Bowie... etc. how can you not love it??

I have to admit that I love the soundtrack from Evita. The one with Madonna singing on it. Loved the movie, soundtrack brilliant.
