GOP's choice to rebut next Tuesday's SOTU address: Joni Ernst. No, really.

CNN does a "reality check" on Obama's most recent proposals, which presumably he will mention in the speech. (They're not skeptical that the proposals would work, but that Obama has any chance of getting the Pub Congress to go along with them.)

The president will no doubt propose spending trillions of dollars that we don't have. The House & Senate will completely ignore everything that he has to say, as they should.

I just hope that all of the many Democratic Party legislators who lost their jobs last November following the president's pre-election comments ("I'm not on the ballot... but my policies are... every single one of them!") are all watching!

Less and less Americans are interested in the childish demands of Barack Obama, or his goofy anti-American agenda.

It is only the idiots like you and query and a host of people on my ignore list that are disinterested.

Some of us want the things that a good government can bring. You guys on the right should realize that governments are good for other things besides prisons and warfare.

Do you think that Barack Obama was a complete & total boob back in 2008 when he said that? Did you support him back then?

Today, exactly six-years into the Obama presidency, our national debt has arisen by $7.5-trillion, which makes President Obama incredibly "unpatriotic" when using the yardstick set by Senator Obama.

I think we could both agree that adding $10-trillion to America's debt would be the actions of an incredibly poor president, and yet that's what it looks like Obama's legacy will be when he leaves the White House in two years!

The Tea Party elected to take tax-exempt status, giving their word they would abide by the law and NOT endorse individual candidates. They broke the law. For you to claim their rights are being "trampled" and "conspired against" is just silly...that's akin to saying bank robbers are being discriminated against because they rob banks.

A few years ago, Obama had more sycophants who would periodically stand and applaud what he said. The number of times that happened made a good drinking game,, but it probably won't this year. VP Joe Biden jumping up and down by himself just wouldn't get it.

President Obama knows full-well that nobody will be listening to his upcoming State of the Union speech, so he'll pad it with demands for trillions of dollars in new spending and trillions of dollars in new tax increases.

And then he just might bring in Carly Simon to sing his new presidential theme song: "You're So Vain."

Many countries have bad leaders

President Obama has been cursed with poor followers.

It seems that the right wing nuts in this country comprise almost twenty five percent.
I don't know exactly how much it takes to make a 'house divided' but we have to be close.

It seems to me that about half the country supports him and about a quarter of the country just can't rise above their racist hate of him.

Vette's children's children will study him in history and find out how good of a president he has been. I hope their teachers tell them how great he could have been with the support of the people.

There is all kinds of graphs and statistics that point to the downward path we have been on since Reagan was elected and the right wing nuts started to increase. But the assholes on the right are so blinded with hate for their fellow americans that they would rather see the country go to hell then see a dime of their taxes paid to help them.

If you took everybody on the right from Charlton Heston down to Sanity Sam and put them on a boat to anywhere, two things would happen.

1. America would become a much better place.

2. Wherever their boat landed would soon be a festering pit of unhappiness.

The man is an elected leader of my country

You and your group of asshole friends on the far right have never respected the fact that america elected him to lead us ALL. UNFORTUNATELY THAT MEANS YOU TOO.

I don't see how you made it in the marines if you can't follow orders from your leader.

Remember when you first went into basic training, and you got to meet other recruits from all over america? Remember how everybody you talked to was leaving a perfect past life. All those recruits were spreading lies about how good they had it at home before they joined. They were all lies.

You guys on the right remind me of those young men I met so long ago. You are telling lies about how much you have and how much you love living your life.

Truth is anybody as full of hate and disrespect for their country as you are could never be successful or happy. If you ever have grandchildren they will be taught that people like you held back progress for as long as possible, but once they died off, the country was able to move into the bright sunlight of a socialist system of healthcare and support for people less fortunate.

Until that happy day they throw dirt onto your box, we will have to suffer through your stupidity, and lack of understanding. I don't like it but you are an american so we will have to put up with you.

Too bad you can't manage to find the courage to be a loyal american.

mikey --- Yes, the American people elected Barack Obama to lead us all, just as the American people elected George W. Bush to lead us all back in 2000 & 2004.

The American people also expect our elected leaders to follow the U.S. Constitution, as they have sworn to do.

I believe in showing the same respect for President Obama that politically-progressive Democrats showed for George W. Bush, and I feel that I have done exactly that!

As a result of his leadership (including both scandals & ineptitude), President Obama has helped to give America a Republican-dominated House of Representatives and a Republican-dominated U.S. Senate. He will need to work with the G.O.P.-dominated legislative branch of government during his final two years in office, and so demanding huge new tax-increases and trillions of dollars of new spending sounds like a huge waste of time as neither of those are going to happen before the Obama's leave Washington.
