Sorting categories by priority

I remember that someone on the forum compiled a list of priorities for story categories.

For example, if a story contained elements of "First Time" and "Group Sex" and "Mature," the author could be advised where to best place the story.

It seemed that the sorting was by what I would call the "squink factor"... those things that trigger certain responses in the readership.

A question about this was posted here:

I hope that the list I'm thinking of will be unearthed and, at best, posted as a Sticky here.

I recall at least two threads on the topic, but couldn't find them after a brief search. Upon searching the stickies, I did find this link to an older thread on the topic. From what I have observed, the "trump" categories are more of a set of general guidelines than hard-and-fast rules. Twice I've had a story published in a category other than where I'd submitted it:

How Did This Happen? submitted as an Anal story, published in Incest / Taboo
Incident in the Library submitted to Erotic Couplings published in Non-consent / Reluctance

In both cases I was surprised, but learned something.

EDIT: Yeah, I was looking in the AH stickies. PennameWombat posted the definitive article on the subject below:

I believe you're referring to this: Love Your Readers: Categories.

Edit: replied over there directly.

Read the article to which Pennamewombat linked. That is the most authoritative guide on this subject I have found.
