Bottom left of each post, there's a delete bin. Not sure if it will work on the whole thread though, since you've got replies.

If you can't delete it, try asking the mods if they can remove the thread or move it to its proper place. I'm not sure what magic powers the administrator's have, but normally they can move/ remove threads on most sites.

(I have no delete button either). What you did is just fine. Zero out the original post and leave a notation on not intending to post the thread and that should be all that's needed.

Don't worry about it, and it slowly move down the page and get forgotten. It's not as if you said anything silly.
