Sore head anyone?

Any other bears with sore heads out there? :(
Time zones, remember the time zones. When you posted this it wasn't yet midnight on the West Coast of the USA. They aren't even drunk yet!

Always knew Australia was more advanced than others gave it credit for.

We're 18 hours into day 1 (now 21 hours), and you guys aren't even drunk yet?? I think you guys better come visit Australia next new year, if only to sit outside in the hot sunshine and drink icy cold beers from lunch straight through...

California signing on. No soreness whatsoever. I had two glasses of really good Champagne, maybe a half bottle of good Beaujolais, dried figs, Kalamata olives, and lots of tortilla chips and salsa. Stayed up til 4am with my 12 year old niece watching a 'Sex and the City' marathon. One of my best new year eves ever. Now waiting for her dad (bro.) to pick her up.

We had an amazing rain storm all night, still raining so will probably just loaf all day.

Happy 2004!

I slept through mine, I didn't wake up until 1pm!

It was a rough night, what can I say?

Lou

nope

no hangover, or any "sore heads" lounging about...sigh. no drinky, no nookie. ...sigh.:(

I had a long New Year...started around 14:00 with lunch with a friend (who happens to be female and attractive), some light pasta with cream sauce, prawns, zucchini, peas and parsley and salad with avocado and cheese. Some passable californian chardonnay on the side.

Comfortably warm from the alco we proceeded to watch some Asterix and banter casually on sex and other topics various.

Then around 21:30 the real "partying" started. An old buddy brought his gf over and an ex of mine (who happens to be female and attractive) with whom I managed to fool around again...groan, that'll take some talking next week. Anyway we proceeded with some light pinot gris from Jeruzalem (a town in Slovenia), some light rebula, pinot blanc and merlot from Dobova (another town), some bubbly from Radgona (third town) around midnight and then a second bubbly (too drunk to remember from where) on the way to the town square.

I recall the clock beeping around 05:30 when I fell into bed.

Anyhow, I woke up in bed with my ex around 08:30, my head filled with glasswool. So, while she slept, I cleaned up the apartment (mmm...wine stains, my favourite), took a long shower, went back to bed, got up again, packed...and drove to see my parents. Around 15:00 I fell into bed again and woke up a few hours ago. Now I'm recuperating with cold cocoa and the cathode tube...

yep, totally sore head. partying in Soho isn't as good in practice as it was in theory.

No drinky, yes.....no nookie, well, now that's a whole different question, isn't it? *grin*

My cousin tried to set me up with a date for the New Year's Eve dance, but I resisted. Five days was long enough, so I came home early.

I might have gone to the party, but I was lucky enough to observe my blind date to be. I couldn't help but notice that she had a severe personality disorder -- infectious bulimia. She made me want to throw up!

That's two visits in the last two weeks. At least the pre-Christmas visit was with friends. The pre-New Years visit was with relatives. The former I stayed longer than planed. The latter I cut short.

So, it wasn't intelligence that saved me from a New Years Day hangover.

No sore head here, despite the full bottle of bubbly.

But if there's one lesson I learned well in Russia, it's to eat while one drinks. Preferably fatty or starchy stuffs. The only time I get hangovers is when I forget that bit, or when I forget to drink a bunch of water before heading to bed.

Happy 2004, though, especially to those with the ouchy heads!

Mhari, so glad to hear you're well. I thought of you as I drank my Champers.

Perdita, I wonder how you get away with it. Lit is a sexual context (even ignoring Sex and the City) and you have the temerity to drag a twelve year old into the conversation?

perdita,
I had somewhat of a Sex and the City marathon too, though I am only through parts of season 2 and all of 3. I love that show! Can't wait to keep watching. I wonder what your 12 year old niece thought of it though!

I'm seriously considering to stop watching SATC, because I'm so pissed off at that idiot Miranda for chosing an ugly, childish loser like Steve over sexy, sweet, caring doctor Blair Underwood!

Snooper and JJ: I honestly had not expected your reactions. My niece has an exceptional intelligence and wit that would be welcome on the AH. She's been raised by me as well as her parents (my bro. is her dad) on good films, books and music of all genres (and in San Francisco) so she can watch S&tC and get it on every level. She got the four main characters immediately so that we enjoyed making comments and laughing together after just a couple episodes. Any adult could spend hours or days with my niece and never be bored (though she might be, haha). On Christmas day she played Bach excerpts for us on the cello. She's a delight and the light of my life.

Perdita (her proud tia)
