Sophia Kennedy thought after college getting a job would be easy. It wasn’t. She finished college with a bachelors degree in Civil Law two years ago, but couldn’t even get hired as a Paralegal in a small firm. So here she was, packing her bags ready to head back to her hometown. She made arrangements with her older brother to stay in their guest house until she can get a decent job and money for a place of her own.

She pulled out her box of old junk, figuring she should go through it to get rid of unneeded things, the less she had to move the better. The box contained a bunch of old stuff she forgot she even had. A picture of her and her prom date, the same guy she lost her virginity to. Her favorite book, Homer’s Iliad. But what made her stop was a picture of her best friend. They had been together for what seems like forever, in kindergarten Sophia stood up to a young bully and they were close ever since. Sadly, as time passed, they lost touch. Sophia went to college and her childhood friend married her high school sweetheart. She smiled at the picture, wishing she could rekindle things with the girl who made her life so fun. She sighed wondering where her best friend was now, hoping she was happy, before placing the picture into her suitcase and finished packing.

A week later Sophia pulled her beat up old Bronco into her brother’s drive way. Her brother Darren came out with open arms to greet her.

“Baby sister! It’s about time you got here!” He said as they embraced. “How was your trip?”

Sophia smiled. “Well I made it alive!” She said with a chuckle. Her brother and her looked nothing alike. They both were on the tall and athletic side with a natural tanned skin tone, but she had light brownish hair and hazel eyes while he had dark hair and dark eyes.

Sophia greet her nieces and her sister-in-law before making her way to the guest house to unpack. She took the picture of her best friend out first and sat down on her new bed. God she wished she could find her best friend. She didn’t know her new last name so she had no way of looking her up, after all it's been almost eight years since they last talked. With a sigh she placed the photo on her night stand and finished unpacking.

Amy had always thought that life would be easy. She had a plan mapped out and all she had to do was follow it, but as always, life took a road that had move curves in it then she could have ever anticipated.

She had gotten married the summer after high school graduation. Greg McGuire was the all American guy who clean cut good looks and a nice muscular athletic build. He was the captain of the football team and had swept Amy off her feet their senior year of high school. She’d always been a shy girl, picked on for her brains until she developed into a beauty with the help of her best friend, Sophia. She wondered where Sophia had ended up after all this time. If it was one thing Amy needed, it was surely someone to talk to.

Amy had worked her tail off to support her husband as he went to college, trying to earn a degree in business to get a job in a bigger city. He had never liked the small town that they had grown up in and she knew that he was a big time dreamer. When four years turned to six, she had started to question his drive. He was out partying with his friends late at night, leaving her home alone. Worst of all was when the cheating began. It had broken Amy’s heart but she kept quiet.

The final straw came one day when she was home early from work and actually walked in on him and some college coed fucking like rabbits in her bed. Amy had thrown him out, naked as the day he was born, and called a divorce lawyer. It had been a bitter breakup with Greg contesting everything along the way. When the dust had cleared, she wasn’t left with much besides a home that had too many bad memories and what little money she had managed to save along the way. Greg made it out far worse, forced to pay alimony and actually get a job.

Still, Amy’s heart had never truly healed. She wondered if anyone would ever come along and show her what true love was. She wanted a loving home, children, romance…but it seemed that all of that had moved on from her life.

Amy glanced up as an order was called out. She smiled at the diner cook and took the food from the pass, squeezing behind another waitress as she went to serve the table that was ready. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was work, she decided and she was more than happy to do it.

"Come on Sophia, you've been here for two weeks and all you have done sit here job searching."

Sophia looked up from her computer to see her brother standing her front doorway. He has been hassling her for the last few days to go out and have fun. But she had other priorities. She gave Darren a smile. "You know I need to find a job or else I'll end up living with you forever, you don't want that do you?" She ask him before turning back to her computer. She was almost to the end of filling a job application when her brother walked up and turned off the monitor. "Hey! Darren what the hell?" She shouted slapping his hands away.

"Dinner with the family, Soph. We're going to your favorite diner you're coming." Darren said sternly. "Get dressed." He added as he took her monitor cord so she couldn't get back on then walked out.

Sophia chuckled and shook her head. He was as stubburn as she was so she knew there was no point in resisting. She quickly changed into a clean pair of jeans and a T-shirt before heading out with her family.

At the Danny's Diner, her all time favorite place, she sat down at a booth with her youngest niece sitting next to her and her oldest niece, brother, and sister-in-law sat across from her. One thing she loved about this place was the table covers were paper and they gave you a pack of crayons at the door, so her and her nieces got busy drawing the moment they sat down.

Amy had never seen Danny’s so busy in her life. She was running back and forth, filling drinks and serving food as quickly as possible. Of course, she did it all with a smile on her face and the tips were quickly filling her pockets. It would go a long way to help pay for a new car. Her car was quickly fading and she knew that soon she would have to replace the old farm truck that she’d managed to keep during the divorce.

She saw a family sit down in her section and she sighed, grabbing her pad of paper and pen from her apron as she made her way over towards them. She recognized Darren and his family with an unfamiliar figure sitting across from them.

“Hey, Darren!” She said with a smile as she came upon the table, glancing at his two girls and his wife before she turned her gaze towards the stranger that was with them. “Sophia?”

Her voice was shocked, even as her smile became wider and her eyes lit up. She let out a happy shriek and wrapped her friend in a tight hug.

“I can’t believe you’re back in town! You should have called me!”

Sophia was just commenting on her baby nieces artwork when she hear a familiar voice greet her brother. When she looked up she saw a woman she hadn't seen in what feel like a lifetime. God how she changed! She was such a beautiful woman now. Gone was the 18 year old girl and her was this beautiful woman.

She felt Amy's arm go around her and hugged her tightly back. "Amy! I didn't even know you were still in town!" She pulled back to stare at her friend. "I didn't know how to find you... God you look so different!"

She pulled her friend into another hug. "I've missed you so much."

“Oh, I’ve missed you too!” She cried, a huge smile on her face as she pulled back from the hug and looked over the woman that was her best friend. “I look different? You look different! You’re so beautiful, Sophia!”

Amy couldn’t believe her good fortune at happening upon Sophia again after so much time apart. It felt like old times, just chatting to her briefly. And what she had said about Sophia being beautiful was true. She had matured into a stately blonde with a beautiful body. She had always been someone that Amy was envious of, but even more so now.

“We have to get together to catch up.” She said in a sincere voice as she glanced over at her other tables. “I have to get back to work though. What would you guys like to drink?”

She asked, writing down the order as it was given to her.

Sophia laughed at her friend's comment. "Talk about beautiful, look at yourself! You look unbelievable!" She gave Amy a smile before sitting back down. "Yeah get back to work we'll catch up soon." She ordered her food and watched as she walked away. Sophia couldn't keep her eyes off of Amy. She watched as she moved around and the strange feeling for Amy came flooding back to her. She never understood it but ever since they were 17 she had these strange feelings. She couldn't describe them but it was like every time Amy was there Sophia just wanted to touch her. To feel her skin.

She shook her head and tried to clear her thoughts. By the time their food arrived, her appetite was long gone. All she could think about was wanting to talking to Amy. Seeing her smile just gave her butterflies and she couldn't explain it.

Once her family finished their meal she tried to catch Amy but couldn't find her in the busy diner. She sighed then left a note with another waitress before heading out.

Amy, give me a call when you're free or just swing by Darren's place, I'm in the guest house. I hope we can catch up soon!

She signed the bottom and left her number. She only hoped to see Amy again soon.

Near the end of her shift, Amy was given a note by one of the other waitresses. Unfolding it, she smiled to see Sophia’s familiar script. She was excited at the prospect of rekindling their friendship and decided after work she was going to drive out to Darren’s and have a long talk with Sophia.

It was close to seven when she finally clocked out, taking a couple of extra hamburgers with her as she climbed into her old truck and prayed that the stupid thing would start. It seemed that fate was shining down on her that night as it started on the first turn and she was on her way.

She had nervous butterflies in her stomach and wondered if she should be going so late. She was still in her work clothes, her blue jeans and t-shirt a little wrinkled and mussed, but she didn’t want to spend time going home to change.

Pulling into Darren’s drive, she went around the back and stood at the guest house door, knocking on it with the bag of burgers in one hand. She wondered if Sophia would be happy to see her.

Sophia just finished a warm bubble bath and was putting on her pajamas when she heard a knock at the door.

Who could that be? She thought as she quickly threw on her shirt. But then she remembered... Amy! The thought of her being here caused her butterflies to start up.

She quickly brushed her fingers through her hair as she jogged to the door. She stumbled slightly but quickly recovered to all but yank the door open.

"Amy!" She said with a smile. Her eyes roamed over her seeing the bag of burgers, causing her to grin wider. "And you brought food!" She stepped back to allow her friend to enter. "Excuse the mess... I'm still settling in." She said grabbing her dirty jeans off the ground. "I'm so glad you got my message, I was worried you didn't get my note."

“Of course I brought food. You didn’t think I’d forget how much you can eat.” She said with a laugh, entering the guest house and looking around at all the boxes and clutter. “It’s alright. You should see my house. It’s always a disaster zone but I guess that comes with working all the time.”

Amy turned to look at her friend, taking in the damp hair and comfortable pajamas she was wearing. Had she interrupted something, she thought to herself as she walked towards the kitchen and placed the bag on the counter top.

“The girl I work my shift with could get away from her tables to give me your note until I was getting ready to leave. I’m really happy you asked me to come over. We have so much to catch up on!”

Amy pulled out clean plates and dished up the food, bringing them both to the table and sitting down to have a nice long chat with Sophia about how life had treated her.

“So, college graduate, huh? How did that work out for you?”

Sophia looked at her friend curiously, "Doesn't your husband help out?" She pulled back her hair and grabbed a bottle of wine from the fridge and offered Amy some. "That's what men are for right? Cleaning house?"

Once Sophia had two glasses of wine poured she sat them down on the coffee table and cleared a seat for Amy beckoning her to sit down. "I really wanted to catch up so I'm glad you accepted."

She took a bite of the burger, moaning a little. She always loved burgers. She took a sip of wine to wash it down before commenting on her 'college'. "Well it was expensive as all hell and my lovely law degree doesn't even get me a job!" She said with a chuckle. "But college did have its fun. How about you? What's it like to me a Mrs.?"

Amy looked at Sophia for a long moment before she bit her lower lip and thought about what to tell her about how much of a dog Greg turned out to be. She had been one of the people that tried to tell her that he wasn’t good for her, but she hadn’t listened.

“Well, it wasn’t all the great. I divorced Greg last year. I caught him with a woman in our bed and kicked him out.” She said it as if it weren’t a big deal. “I guess you were right about him, huh? I should have married Darren when I had the chance! He’s about the only nice guy I’ve ever met.”

She laughed about that, her cheeks growing hot as she blushed while she thought about how her life had turned out. “And, hey, jobs are overrated. Danny would hire you on as a waitress if you wanted to make some quick money. His business has boomed in the past year. He’s even thinking about opening a second diner!”

Sophia heard the heart ache in Amy's voice. "Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry..." She pulled Amy into a tight but quick hug. "At least you divorced that rat-bastard!" She smiled, proud of her for standing on her own."I'm so sorry I wasn't here for it..."

She took another bite and chewed it slowly. She knew Danny would hire her since her family had been close to his. She just wasn't sure, it got her extra cash but it wasn't what she spent thousands of dollars on learning about. "Yeah sure... I guess I could talk to him."

She leaded back and stared at her wine glass thinking about all the good times they shared. "Hey," she said softly looking up at Amy, "remember the first time we drank together? I took a bottle of tequila from my dad and we drink it when I stayed the night at your place. God we got so sick..."

“Oh, God, I remember that!” She said, laughter escaping from between her lips. “You were so hung over the next morning. I remember you throwing up on Bobby Jensen when we went out to the lake the next afternoon and he offered you a beer.”

She and Sophia had some really good times in high school. She had been there to listen to Sophia as she cried after being passed over for the soccer team and Sophia had been there to help her through her mother’s death the summer before their senior year. They had gotten into trouble together, laughed together, and cried together.

“Yeah, I should have listened to you when you warned me that Greg was no good. It would have saved me a lot of time and a lot of heartache.” She picked up her own glass of wine, taking a deep drink. “So, what about you? Any men in your life?”

She laughed and leaned back onto her couch finishing her wine. She felt like she really needed a drink. Maybe it was because she felt nervous with Amy right now. "Yeah, Bobby Jensen, boy was he fine!" She smirked. "I would've given him my virginity if he wasn't so pissed about the puke."

She stood up and went to grab the bottle of wine as she answered Amy's questions about her relationships. Honestly, there was a lot of little relationships throughout college, but nothing serious. All the men she dated were 'too focused on school' to be in a committed relationship. "No men... I had a few flings but nothing big." She said with a smile as she sat back down pouring the wine into her glass.

She looked at Amy as she took sip. "So tell me, what do you do for fun now and days?"

“That’s a shame. There should always be time for men.” She grinned, laughing as she mentioned that she would have given him her virginity. “I would have too but Greg had already taken it. God, that was horrible too! We were crammed in the back of his Mustang after the last football game of the season. If I remember right, you lost yourself to that foreign exchange student, right?” She suddenly felt like Sophia was growing nervous and she wondered why. It was just like old times the way that they were talking and she was so incredibly happy that they were rekindling their relationship.

“Me? Fun?” Amy laughed as she offered Sophia her glass for a refill. “I work six days a week, as many shifts as I can. It doesn’t leave much time for fun. Although, I do like to go over to Spikes and play some pool with the guys every once in a while. They still can’t believe that shy little Amy is a pool shark.”

She grinned wickly as she remember her first time. "Mmmhmm, Mischa from Russia!" She giggled as she fanned herself. "That boy was so fine! I mean he wasn't a Bobby Jensen, but let me tell you something he can make you purr!" She said as she poured some more wine into Amy's glass, laughter feeling her voice.

She tilted her head at Amy. It was a shame she worked so much, they use to be pretty wild together. But then again, she had mellowed out herself. "You still play?" She pointed at the back room. "Darren still has his pool table in the back. That's his 'man cave.'" She said rolling her eyes. "I haven't played in years though..."

“Mischa! That’s right!” She laughed as she watched Sophia fan herself. “He use to get you so tied up in knots just whispering things in your ear in Russian.”

Her eyes light up when she mentioned the pool table in the back room. “Break out the tequila and I’ll play you a game or two.” She said, pushing off the sofa and leaving her wine glass on the coffee table while she moved to the backroom and looked over the pool table that was sitting there.

“Oh! And some limes and salt!” She called over her shoulder as she could hear Sophia moving around in the other room.

She shuttered just thinking about Mischa. "Yeah he was so amazing. Shame he had to leave"

She laughed and shook her head to Amy's comment. "How do you even know I have tequila?" Of course she had tequila though... she always had tequila. She couldn't believe Amy would remember that.

She grabbed the bottle which was still unopened, two shot glasses, some salt, and a sliced a lime. Gathering the stuff she quickly tipped the rest of her wine back finishing the cup before heading into the backroom where Amy was preparing the game. "Now you have to go easy on me... it's been forever since I played." She said the tequila into a shot glass for Amy.

“Are you kidding me? You always have tequila.” She said as Sophia came into the back room and she took the shot glass, tossing it back and enjoying the burn that went down her throat and pooled in her belly. “Wow, you don’t skimp on the good stuff, do you?” She coughed, taking a lime slice and sucking on it.

She let out a breath and picked up a pool cue, watching as Sophia racked the balls up and centered them for her first shot. Amy took aim and snapped against the ball, sending it sailing into the others. She was pleased to knock two of the stripes into the side pocket, looking at Sophia with a grin.

“Remember the night that we played strip pool with those two guys from the basketball team? I had them naked before we’d even taken anything off!” She laughed at the look of remembrance on Sophia’s face.

Sophia poured herself two shots and tipped it back one after the other. She shivered as the bitter sweet taste evaded her senses. She took her own lime piece and sucked on it before laughing. "Damn I haven't drank in a while." She smirked at Amy. "I only drink the good stuff, baby. That nasty imitation stuff, Ugh! Jose is my favorite." She poured two more shots for Amy.

She laughed as she leaned back against the wall watching Amy hit a few more stripes in. "Yeah, I remember that, they talked all this smack then didn't even get to see us naked." She licked her lips. "Although it was rather fun watching them get naked..."

Her mind flashed back to that day. She laughed so hard when the two boys all but cried as Amy hit the eight ball into the corner pocket. Sophia loved the smile Amy had when as she jumped around gloating. She heard the balls crack as they hit each other and it brought her back to Amy now. Even though she was never much of a light-weight she was feeling her tipsy from her wine already, and the tequila was making her body feel warm and she was giggly.

“Who would have thought that James Thomas had a cock that big either! It was a monster and he wasn’t even hard.” Amy grinned as she made quick work of a few more of the balls before she walked over and took another shot quickly, shaking her head at the burning sensation. She always enjoyed drinking with Sophia and it made her loosen up a little bit, her cares flying out the window.

“Then there was his sister, Sally. I still can’t believe you agreed to kiss her at my slumber party that one night.” She said, grinning at her friend as she expected to see a blush crossing her face and saw none. “And then what did she say afterwards? That you Frenched better than her boyfriend?” Amy started laughing uncontrollably at that, the alcohol doing strange things to her head as she finally missed a ball and relinquished the cue to Sophia.

Sophia tossed her head back, laughing. Amy mentioning James' cock brought that whole imagine back into her head. "Yeah, it was just..." she whistled lowly before laughing again. She couldn't even think of a word to describe how big he was.

Sophia raised her eye brow to her comment on Sally. She had kissed a few girls in her time. Some at college parties or when drink. She had even had a girl go down on her once, but she was completely wasted when that happened. She enjoyed it a lot but she just never really continued that way. "What can I say? My tongue is like magic." She said as she grabbed the pool stick from Amy. She bumped the side of her hip against Amy's to push her back. She lined up with one of her solid balls that sat close to the pocket. She hit the white ball and heard it crack against another. She got a ball in. Only it wasn't her ball, it was one of Amy's.

She dropped down onto the a side pool table. "I can't believe I missed that! I'm a disgrace to the Pool Gods." She chuckled. "See if this was strip pool right now, I'd be buck ass naked." She said as she gave the stick back to Amy. "Show me how it's done, girl."

“Your tongue is magic? I don’t believe that because if it was then Mischa might have immigrated from Russia for you.” She bumped against Sophia’s hip, laughing at the look that she was given as she waited for her to make her hit. “Greg kissed like a dog. All sloppy and tongue. Ewww.” She shuddered at the thought.

Amy laughed, taking another shot of tequila as she took the cue from Sophia, brushing against her as she moved into position and took aim. It only took a few more strikes before she was down to the eight ball.

“Eight ball corner pocket.” She said with a wide grin as she easily hit the ball in and was soon strutting around the room in a victory dance. “I am the best. Admit it! I’ve always been the best. Now, what’s my reward?”

Sophia leaned back against the her wall again, grinning. "He tried to convince me to go with him back to Russia, but my Russian is limited to curse words and sex related terms." She said as she watched Amy bend down to hit the balls. Damn her ass was fine.

She shook her head as she had another shot. What was about this woman that made Sophia want to just reach out and touch her? She sucked on her lime wedge for a moment before adding. "That's how good my tongue was, darlin'! So good I was about to be given Russia citizenship when I married him." She chuckled. "I told you he proposed on his last day here, didn't I?" She tried to keep her eyes away from Amy's body, but they failed her and set on her chest. Her and Amy were never really the type to be completely naked around each other, in their underwear was fine. But now she was really curious to know what her full breast looked like. She wondered how they felt.

She took another shot. "Anyways, I told him no, I couldn't leave my best friend and kissed him goodbye."

Amy landed the eight ball in the corner pocket and was now dancing around, she watched as the way her body moved and it caused her to groan in her throat.

Now, what's my reward? She had to bite back on her tongue. She could think of a lot of ways to reward Amy.

What was with the crazy thoughts tonight? Sophia wondered as she poured her a shot and held it out for her. She wasn't a lesbian. A few kisses and a girl eating you out didn't make you a lesbian did it? But she felt so intoxicated by Amy. Maybe it was the tequila... yeah that must be it.
