I just got through doing a dance number with Gene Kelly while performing, "Singing in The Rain."
It's a song I cannot sit to, I must get up and hoof it.

Other than a few select swing band tunes, it's still my favorite.

Question: Is there a specific song that if played, you cannot sit still to no matter what, and you soon find yourself boogie-ing, waltzing, or clogging around the place scaring anyone observing the scene? :D

"I'm Walking on Sunshine"

Katrina and the Waves

It isn't even a great song, but for some reason I have to be singing and moving to it.

It is MissT's Feel Good Classic of the Day!
:D

Lost Cause..that is my favorite favorite classic movie of all time. I've been known to swing around the lamp post on my lawn, in a very bad imitation of Gene! :)

I'd say...White Wedding - Billy Idol and, God Forbid, You're the one that I want, from Grease!

Okay, it's still early :)

"what am i gonna do with you", by barry white, and "get up offa that thing" by james brown- theyre just too funky to sit still too

I would say that there are many, but the one that comes to mind right now is the one from Rocky Horror Picture Show. I don't know the title, "Toucha, toucha, touch me.. I wanna feel dirty. Thrill me, Chill me, Fulfill me, Creature of the night". lol, I don't know why either.

Aaaah...Barry White, THE sexiest voice ever!!

"Can't get enough of your love, baby"

:)

weirdo:p

It's just a jump to the left.

And then a step to the right.

With your hands on your hips.

You bring your knees in tight.
But it's the pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane.
Let's do the time-warp again.

Miss Taken - I agree with you - Walking on Sunshine gets me up and going - always has!

Most rock (pop, too) music gets me up and moving, though

:rose:

I always think of "A Clockwork Orange" when I hear "Singing in the Rain."

The ones that get me are from my college days. The Doobie Brothers, from the 70's, will get me out of my chair everytime.

Any waltz; I love swaying to 3/4 time.

Ah... back to the topic...

A few make me move no matter what...

"We're Off to See The Wizard" :D

"Rosalita"

"Dancing Queen" and "Waterloo"...I know it's ABBA... but I like those pop ditties

I can't resist air-guitaring to Hotel California by the Eagles. (Either version) Heh heh...China Grove...by the Doobie Brothers, and for some odd reason, sitting in a bar two nights ago I discovered...heh...Kid Rock's...Cowboy. Good tune. Almost had more action than I could handle at one point.

My dithyramb overshadows--sorry

Let's get physical
physical - . . .
Let's get physical

Let's get physical

Let me hear your body talk

Let me hear your body talk

Let me hear your body talk.

Missy E.- Work It, and Get Your Freak On

DJ Kool - Let me clear my throat

At the count of three
I want everybody in the place to be
To make some noise if ya down with me
One, two, three

Hit me with the horns Tony
Keep makin’ noise, keep makin’ noise, yeah, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Here we go now, here we go now, here we go now
Here we go now, here we go now
Here we go now, here we go now, here we go now
Here we go now, here we go now
Here we go, here we go, now listen

Some of y’all might know this, and some of y’all don’t (jam jam)
Some of y’all might be with this, and some of y’all won’t
But listen, let me clear my throat
Oh, have mercy babe, Ha!
I hope ya don’t mind, let me clear my throat

Special dedication going out to everybody here in Bahama Bay
In Philadelphia
Here we go now, check it out, ah huh, ah huh, ah (God Damn)

Yeah, rock to the rhythm of the funky rhyme
So I can get this in just one more time
To the beat and ya don’t quit
It’s that ol’ skool rap with that new skool hit
Peter Piper picked a pepper but Kool got the Run
And I can still rip up the house
Every God damn time I get on the mic, I go crazy
Peace out to Celo, Flex, and Doug Lazy
I bet ‘cha never knew but now ya know
I’m the undisputed king of this disco
And I never let the mic, might not tire me no more
Cuz DJ Kool rip up the whole damn floor

Now I’ma rap a rhyme with the greatest of ease
And swing it like the man on the flying trapeze
And if you don’t like it you grab on these
And now I need some help from the maestro please

Jam, Ha! So look it here check the flavor of the rhythm I wrote
And while I got a chance here, let me clear my throat
Oh, have mercy babe, ha!
I hope ya don’t mind, let me clear my throat
I need these monitors right here
Music and the monitors
And it goes a little something like this here
Ah huh ah huh ah

Now if y’all wanna party like we do
If y’all wanna party like us, lemme hear ya say
Ah ah ah ah ah (crowd)
If y’all wanna party like we do
If y’all wanna party like us lemme hear ya say
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah (crowd)
Now when I say uh, you say ah
Uh (crowd) Uh (crowd)
And now when I say hey, you say ha
Hey (crowd) hey (crowd)
Now when I say uh, you say ah
Uh (crowd) Uh (crowd)
Now when I say hey you say ha
Hey (crowd)
Now when I say freeze you just freeze one time
When I say freeze y’all stop on a dime
When I say freeze you just freeze one time
When I say freeze y’all stop on a dime

FREEZE

Now all the ladies in the place
If you got real hair, real fingernails
If you got a job, you going to school
And y’all need nobody to help you handle your business
Make some noise

One, two, three, come on now
When I say freeze you just freeze one time
When I say freeze y’all stop on a dime
When I say freeze you just freeze one time
When I say freeze y’all stop on a dime

FREEZE

Now to all the brotha’s in the place
That don’t give a damn about what them ladies talking about
Cuz you just trying to get chummy
Make some noise

Now, now, now, let me clear my throat
Oh, have mercy babe, ha!
I hope you don’t mind
Let me clear my throat
Special dedication going out to all the ladies
And all the brothers in here

Another dithyramb

Louisiana Saturday Night: Don Williams.

Well, you get down the fiddle and you get down the bow,
Kick off your shoes and you throw ‘em on the floor.
Dance in the kitchen 'til the morning light:
Louisiana Saturday night.

Waiting in the front yard, sitting on a log;
Single shot rifle and a one-eyed dog.
Yonder come my kin folk in the moonlight:
Louisiana Saturday night.

Well, you get down the fiddle and you get down the bow
Kick off your shoes and you throw ‘em on the floor
Dance in the kitchen 'til the morning light
Louisiana Saturday night

My brother Bill an' my other brother Jack,
Belly full o'beer and a possum in a sack.
Fifteen kids in the front porch light:
Louisiana Saturday night!

When the kinfolk leave an' the kids get fed,
Me an' my woman gonna slip off to bed.
Have a little fun when we turn out the lights!
Louisiana Saturday night!

Well, you get down the fiddle and you get down the bow,
Kick off your shoes and you throw ‘em on the floor.
Dance in the kitchen 'til the morning light:
Louisiana Saturday night.
Yeah, you get down the fiddle and you get down the bow,
Kick off your shoes and you throw ‘em on the floor.
Dance in the kitchen 'til the morning light:
Louisiana Saturday night.

Get down the fiddle and. you get down the bow,
Kick off your shoes and you throw ‘em on the floor.
Dance in the kitchen 'til the morning light:
Louisiana Saturday night.
