I'm making a "picture" movie for the grandparents of my kids for Christmas, and I need some songs about little boys for background music. I'm drawing a complete blank. Can anyone help?

There is a song named "Bimbo" fom the Fifties that was about a little boy.

ETA: Here are the words, but I don't know whee you can get the tune.

watching Scotty Grow

Its a bit cheesy but grandparents will eat it up.

Not sure exactly what you are looking for, but...

Tough Little Boys by Gary Allan (or Allen, I'm not sure)
Then They Do by Trace Atkins
Let Them Be Little by Billy Dean
A Love Without End by George Strait
I am The Greatest by Kenny Rogers

Then there is the one my son wants to dance with me at his wedding...

Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Those came to mind, but I'll look for some more.

OH... not sure how old the boys are but...

Kenny Loggins Return to Pooh Corner is one of my favs

Hm. Not too many out there, huh? How come there are so many daddy/daughter songs, and not as many son ones??

Oh its the "you're not supposed to get warm and mushy about boys, they're supposed to be tough" crap. I think it goes back to the Spartan mothers telling their sons to go to battle and come back either carrying their shields or on them.

maybe We May Never Pass This Way Again by Seals and Crofts. It's not about boys specifically, but it sort of fits the theme, and it's a great song.

There was a real tear-jerker, around 1970 or 1971, called "My Boy," by Richard Harris - - - the actor/singer who did the original "MacArthur Park," and who specialized in the songs of Jim Webb, one of the greatest songwriters ever. Anyway, it's a man looking down at his little boy as he sleeps, talking softly about an impending divorce. "You're all I have, my boy," is part of the chorus. Very tender, very fatherly, but utterly inappropriate for the desired purpose in this thread!

It was a Top 40 hit, the title track on a Harris album, and was picked up by Elvis in concerts. Here 'tis:

Perhaps it's been said, but "The House on Pooh Corner"

I'd tell you to use "Boys" by Britney Spears, but the grandparents might faint. :D

"I Hope You Dance" by LeeAnn Womack is a nice gender neutral one.
