Which do you think is better?

I have to go with "Gimme Shelter" on this one. The guitar playing on "Gimme Shelter" is far better, as are the vocals. The Beatles have always had a rather queer tone to their vocals, so I'll take Mick Jagger's vocals any day of the week over them. Drum and bass work also go to "Gimme Shelter."

Honest to god, sometimes I forget what it's like to want to lie down in the dark and just listen to an album, but songs like this remind me.

And, sorry OP, that counts for the Beatles too. They can be cloying, annoying and overplayed, but they do not suck.
